Q:Is it normal for the black stainless finish to scratch so easily? We have only ever placed a plastic laundry basket on our machines and they are all scratched and look horrible. Very disappointed and would like to know what can be done.

Didn’t last sadly
I liked this washer initially. However, after 5 years of use, the impeller sheared off and it would cost as much as we paid for the washer to have the 3 parts replaced and installed. It’s not like it was a basic model or inexpensive. I will not buy LG again for washer or dryer

Was an excellent washer… within 2 years problems
Was a terrific washer for a couple years… almost. Then gradually the dial has worked erratically & the drum creaks & does not spin well. Itseems whatever bushings, springs, &/or bearings responsible for holding it are shot. My research says the repair may cost as much as a new washer. The motor has a 10 year warranty, & the drum still looks pristine… but that doesn’t help everything else wearing out so fast for a pricey washer.

GIFT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Washer was a gift from my husband, that was a reward for him working 25 + years at his job. I wanted the grandfather clock, but I am so thankful he go the the washer/dryer.
I love the several options/features to select as to how I want the clothes washed. My favorite is the "speed cycle". I am totally impressed with the large capacity of the tub. It allows to wash a large load. The performance is exactly what needed to ensure clothes are clean.
The notification ringtone is a plus as a reminder of clothes are done.

Leaks inside the tub

GARBAGE. machine blew itself up (see pics)
Just out of warranty, i came home to find the machine side panel blown out and top shifted to the right- as of someone took a hammer to it! Several plastic pieces inside the tub.
Probably should have bought a better brand.

Ruining clothes!
I am having random items come out with bleach like stains on them. It isn't all items in a load and some loads don't have any issues at all. It happened on a king size quilt, bed sheets, delicate items, towels and normal loads. Bleach has never been used in the machine, since we bought it new. I have used Tide Pods, Tide, Method Free and Clear, Downy Fabric Softner in the machine as process of elimination and it occurs with all of them. It doesn't matter if what temp the cycle is either. The machine gets cleaned monthly with OxyClean washing machine cleaner. I also tried vinegar and ammonia recently to see if that made a difference. To no avail. I would hate to total up the amount of clothing and bedding that have been ruined due to this!
