The awning was relatively easy to assemble, I did it myself In 2 days. Im not crazy abouf the bolts used to secure the posts, minor complaint but not very attractive. The awning seems very sturdy and is supplying much needed shade. It's been up for 3 weeks and it has not rained still waiting to see how waterproof. I think it looks great against the house and a good value.

Product arrived on time and damage free. Packed really good. Materials were of good quality. Fairly simple to assemble with two people. The gutter system is a plus, allows for maximum height at header. I plan on purchasing another for one of my rentals. It would be nice to attach the side panels somewhat better, but that's a design issue. Overall it provides a really nice cover from sun/rain within a day or two.

Delivery took along time, but it was worth the wait, it took 2 guys 2 days to install because crew were not professionals, just DYI'ers. So if you can read instructions it can be installed. It has met my expectations, love sitting out on the deck when it rains listening to the pitter patter of the rain, plus I don't get soaked unlocking my door any more. I have had it about 2 months, so far I can't say anything bad. Love it.

I Love this product. It was about 6 hours to complete. Make sure you two to three people. And make it happen. It's not bad to follow the instructions. Just prep everything before you start.. I would recommend this product and just so you know I am buying another for over the hot tub. LOVE IT!...

Beautiful end product. The directions are by far the worst. This is not for the average DIY'er. I was able to assemble it completely by myself in 3 days. Modifications had to be made since I have an odd roof line I had to contend with. I like the color. It matched my trim color almost exactly. Packaging could be better as I has some damage to a couple of panels. I was able to repair them without having to ask for replacements.

We have had our awning about a month now. We needed shade and protection from the elements for our outdoor saloon, and this fit the bill! It was well packaged, included everything right down to two tubes of sealant for seams and drilled holes, and arrived two weeks earlier than expected! We had an experienced contractor friend help us install it, and it took two days. Without our friends help we would have been lost, just because we are inexperienced. We had to cut the poles to fit on top of the deck railing, which worked great. It is real solid in some crazy wind we've been having. We are happy we bought it because now we can enjoy our saloon more often!

The Pros: Looks amazing and is high quality powder coated heavy ga., 20lb live load aluminum and we can actually sit on our deck now, Our deck is on the 2nd story 10'X16' South facing and is VERY hot and unbearable most of the time, if its raining forget it stay in. Now it is enjoyable to go sit on the deck it is now ambient air temp at least 10-30° cooler now, with a nice breeze and of course completely dry, caulk it as instructed and it does not leak a drop ( the caulk has a 100 year warranty stated on the tube,, Yes 100 yrs. its tough stuff don't let it dry where you don't want it you'll never get it off) it takes quite awhile to dry but is Good stuff. My Wife and I installed it in 3 days total 1 xtra day Due to poor instructions!! We got a 10'x18' cover to allow 1' xtra on each side of our 10x16 deck, this made installation of the xtra 1' overhang challenging with 20' high Ladder work after the deck work was done with a 6' ladder had to use the big ladder. It's done now and we love it, I would guess it will last and last, it will take a very, very bad Snow storm to take it down, calculated load is (20 psf X 10'x18')=180x20=3600 LBS of snow etc, that is ALOT of weight,, the Equivalent of my Empty Toyota SR5 4X4 truck spread out over the roof evenly. I will pull/get the snow off of it before it gets too much on it. Go on Home Depot website for more Thorough and complete, Actually legible installation guide. CONS: My Wife and I installed it in 3 days total 1 xtra day Due to poor instructions!! The Instructions that come with it are Antiquated at best and VERY poorly written ,Repeat: Go on Home Depot website for more Thorough and complete, Actually legible installation guide. I am a seasoned DIY guy and the instructions are very hard to follow and incorrect in many places. It tells you to put the panels predrilled holes at the house on one page and out front at post on another page, there are only predrilled holes on one end and they don't line up with anything at all except the AIR over the front rail/gutter, Determine where you want the screws and lay it out on the panels with pencil marks, otherwise its a guessing game. The Fascia clips look nothing like the picture , they were apparently re-engineered and not fixed in manual. One of the posts had damage to it on one side only, Apparently from the extrusion process, we faced it out so no problem on 2nd story deck. Hints; The Female (Fat edge) side of the panels goes on the left when you are facing the house, So Male(Skinny) to right side. Push the first 1' or so of female edge up by the house edge down on the first screwed down panel until about a foot or so locks, push/slide the panel up into the foam towards the house under the hanging channel and the slowly work your way down the panel pushing up from male underneath and down from female on the top a few feet at a time, re-position ladder rinse and repeat. After 7' of panels or so I ( 5'10" x180 lbs) actually put a 1/2 sheet of plywood and another small pc. to get on temporarily to move 1/2 sheet around on top of the awning "once" it had about 7 panels secured and screwed down, got up on the plywood on the panels and work from there installing the Flashing from that plywood sliding it around gently leap frogging from small pc to large to where i needed to sit to screw and caulk etc. the panels are very strong. ( figure it out 20 lbs SqFt spread over 16sqft)= 320lbs) and it felt very secure, to me that is. I put 3/4" of fall per foot for good drainage( that's why I didn't slide off). Quote from http://homeguides.sfgate.com/load-limits-roof-building, The live load on a roof is the weight of any temporary objects on the roof. Where snow isn't a problem, the live load can come from people working on the roof and any equipment they take on to the roof with them. It is typically 20 psf. A gentlemen named Brendan from LatiumUSA who owns Four seasons called and ask about the experience, he said they are going to fix the Install manual and actually make a youtube video to assist in install of these awnings, he listened to my concerns and was very knowledgeable and concerned about the customer and the company. I wish I had done this 20+ years ago when we bought the house, Its a joy to get out on the Hammock and away from the indoors, TV, etc. My wife Loves it, says its her new comfort zone and it is Eye-catching. NICE product, I highly recommend it hope this helps

The quality is excellent. We endured a monsoon shower the day after it was completed and it stood up well with no leaks. The install requires patience and is not for the fainthearted or casual DIY. Compressing the roof panels to fit within the designated space takes significant effort.

Instructions need to be re-done. Drawings are 2-dimentional and hard to understand. One page had the instructions in reverse as well as the drawings! They should re-do the instructions and use photos. Snapping the roof together was a major task. Some fitted tighter than others and I had to keep prying the tight ones open and then snapping them into place. I live near one of Four Seasons plants and was able to go there for help. People there were awesome and took the time to help me. I installed patio myself and it took 2 full weekends. Probably could have got it done in one weekend if instructions were better. I would give product 5 stars if the instructions weren’t so vague and hard to understand.

My husband and I recently bought a new house and we wanted to put something on the house that would give us the shade that we wanted. We ordered it and we got it very quickly. We got it set up and we absolutely love it! My husband cemented the posts into the ground for good stability. It is absolutely perfect! We definitely recommend this product!

We love our patio cover. It seems very sturdy and gives the back of our house much needed shade. It gets so very hot in the sun here in southern AL plus it increased the value of your home. My husbands son and his friend put it up for us (in their early 20's). It did take them all day to put up. They said the instructions were not very good, they tried to call customer service and no one available to help so it took them longer. They did a really good job. This is such a great patio cover, I wish the company would supply better instructions. We have only had it a few weeks but it is holding up good to the rain storms we have had so far. It is delivered by a semi truck, so make sure your house has easy access to come down your street to deliver.

This is a very tough item to review. My wife and I really like the patio cover now that it is complete. It was a great price, looks pretty good and shipping was also pretty quick. In the end, we have a much larger space to hide from the sun and enjoy the outdoors. The issue with this product is the parts and assembly. There were issues with the instructions (which I expected reading other reviews) so I downloaded them early and had a game plan before the item even got here. Still yet, the cons of construction keep me from being able to recommend this product until some changes are made in production. Some issues/complaints: - some panels arrived dented, just tried to hide those. - the post brackets are not predrilled, that's ridiculous. even the top of the post could be predrilled - extra screws were sent that were not even mentioned in the instructions (thanks?) - the corner caps were scratched up upon delivery - the 20' cover is broken up into two, leaving a seam up front to caulk around and try to line up (I probably should have guessed this but just be aware I dont think the description say this) - the roof panels...the idea of them snapping together is nice in theory but it simply does not work. out of the 20 I had, maybe 3 of them went together easily. the others were a constant battle to get the male and female ends to click over each other. Yes I did mark 12" per the instructions and have everything lined up but the "snap" design is just bad. this was the source of most of my frustration with this item. If they had worked like they should, I would have easily save an hours of assembly - after the first downpour I went out and got a downspout as the end "drain" just makes a mess of things. At the end of the day we saved about $1200 over having a similar cover professionally installed. That certainly helps us add fans, lights and other items. I would say it took me about 15 hours spread over 4 days to get this unpacked, laid out and fully put together. I did it by myself for the most part, with my wife helping in the beginning to keep the front rail stable while I added the first roof panels. We do love this upgrade over an old 12 x 12 canvas pergola but I honestly can't say I would do this again unless the roof panel system is corrected/upgraded. It was also on sale for a few hundred off and at full price I would probably look for something else.

This product was very easy to assembly and instructions were easy to understand. Features I like the most is that it has it's own fame, did not have to build one to hold it up. We had and earlier model that was 40 years old and still in good shape until a neighbor's tree limb fell on it. We like the updates in strength to the inner, outer, and side fascia's. The new square posts were also awesome.

Just installed this. I have been in construction for 30 years. Quality of product for price is good. However, as with any Kit product, one needs to have a general idea of the finished product. We live in the computer age. On that note, the "instruction sheet" is pathetic. It looks like it was written originally in a foreign language, then poorly translated. What a joke. So "Four Seasons" do yourself and your customer a favor, employ someone to create proper instructions. It is not rocket science. You don't even have to use words. Take a look at how Lego does it, if you are confused. I did a quick profile drawing, that will show the installer exactly what goes where. As a bonus you will save paper. The only issues I had with quality, was the Roof brackets where the ends lock into the Front Fascia, the tab needs to be longer to give a positive lock. As they slip out. Also Small Tek screws don't have enough thread height to grip thin metal properly, stripping out. The concrete anchors could do with being a little longer. Or perhaps offer that in the package. And the Front Fascia Dams are totally the wrong shape. They should be the exact same profile as the Fascia Extrusion, should they not. Took an extra 6 hours screwing around. I generally do not need or use instructions. But I do need a Profile image to see what goes where. Thanks

the product is what we expected. It has only been installed for 1 1/2 wks. I seems nice . time will tell. It did have some minor damages( scratches and a few dents) which should not effect the wear. The do it yourself instruction could have included more pictures of the parts. One concern is the collection of leaves on roof. Hopefully they will be fairly easy to remove.

This is by far the best thing we have done to the outside of our house. The rear of our home has a full south exposure. So we get a lot of sun back there. it made our back patio mostly unusable in the hottest part of summer. Since we put this up we can now enjoy ar patio and be out there without the threat of sun stroke.

Exceeded expectations. Roof is sturdy, material is good quality. It looks really good on our backyard. Feels like we added an extra room to the house. My husband did most of the work on his own. I only helped him with leveling the posts and putting up the 2 side elements in the ends. I have been enjoying reading and watching movies outside when it rains or when it is too sunny for 2 weeks now. When you put it together make sure you follow instructions precisely and be certain that the panel edges are aligned with the 12 inch mark.

Instructions were terrible. I read the reviews prior to purchasing and noticed many which brought up the instructions. I kind of blew it off but they really were and it made the job so much more difficult. The instructions were photocopied on what I assume is an in house printer. Not stapled, off center, just very poor quality. In the end it came together though it didn't come to the full 20ft. Ended up with about a six inch gap between the last piece on the roof and the end. At some point I'll just cut a piece of sheet metal to cover the gap. It's a shame because the company could spend just a little more time investing in the instructions and the product could be very good. Additionally there were pieces that should've been drilled (at least that's what it said and showed on the instructions) and they weren't. One of the posts was damaged, I assume in shipping. Overall not a great experience.

Difficult to install as the directions are unclear. Parts are not identified clearly. The fascia mounting plate is not drilled and Had a contractor and helper do pole mounting places are not marked or drilled. Difficult to snap roof together and drains are ridiculous. I had this installed by a contractor and it took 2 people most of the day to install. A return trip will be necessary to properly install drains.

                  Great Product
The patio cover was easy to assemble. I took my time and spread it out over four days. I did not have any help but was able to complete it by myself using a couple of ladders to temporarily hold the posts in place while affixing the roof panels. My only complaint is that I had to drill a large number of holes through the steel posts, and it seems like some of the holes could have been predrilled - otherwise no complaints. It is a very good product and is very sturdy and attractive. I added my own decorative skirts at the bottom of each post to finish it off.

The smallest assembly that I browsed so far for this product is 12 ft. x 8 ft. .......Could you guys or the Metal Building Products make an 8 ft. x 10 ft (width x length/projection) or 8 ft. x 8 ft. on the attached/uploaded photo below......I really like this product assembly. My actual space requirement is only 8.6 ft in width and 10.5 ft long from the wall to the perimeter fence.

Even though I followed the instructions to a tee the roof panels not always match and I am not sure if this will allow water to drip under the patio cover. Must have two people to install and expect it to take a little over one day.
