These are complete garbage. I bought 3, all of them leak. Now I get to de-solder all three, place them in the trash where Chinese garbage belongs, go to the plumbing store where I should've gone in the first place, and buy three more.

Well made and easy to assembly.

These unions are the biggest piece of crap! They would not seal sand running through pipe! I used these to connect 2 50gal water heaters in parallel in a restricted area under stairs with valves all 4 unions would not seal and spent 10 hrs taking it all back out and had to sweat straight pipe in place of the unions in the middle of the night!!!! Now I have no service ability if something fails and will be forced to sweat the valves back in if they fail. Called Home Depot they offered to give me a discount on my next purchase. GREAT so they were willing to give me 10.00 off my next purchase for 10 hrs of the most aggravating crap I should not had to go through. When I cut them out I took them back to Home Depot and told the guy to lay them on the managers desk. These unions are pure CRAP sand should be TAKEN OFF THE SHELF.

I do like these unions but like many other reviews they may leak at your first try tightening them. In spite of others saying not to over tighten them, it is exactly what I had to do: used big wrenches . If you are a contractor and don't want to come back to your customers house the next day for a tiny leak I'd not use them. For a homeowner DIY they are fine considering you may have to take the union apart and "do something" to correct a tiny drip. On my first one I disassembled it and rubbed a light coat of pipe dope on the the copper to copper sealing area. The second one I just tightened the heck out of it. I have since had both of them apart to replace an expansion tank and they reseal well without any drama . My thought is that the sealing surfaces when installed have to be torqued well to actually mold or bend together, then everything is good to go. If I ever have use for a another one I want to just lube the surfaces with some of my wife's olive oil and tighten moderately. I've found after many years of automotive and plumbing work that a little lube in most situations works well..

This part I did not need so I returned it. But everything else worked just perfect.

I purchased two of these for an pneumatic airline. They were both 1/2”. I found that after installing them they leaked slightly and it was required that I had to really over tighten them up to make a proper seal. Being that they were only 1/2” I was concerned about possibly twisting the tubing that they were soldier to. Eventually they sealed properly.

Saves me time to swap out and fix things.

Easy and smooth threads, soldered well.

I just finished installing a water filter, as my first ever soldering project. It went fine! I had no problems, and was impressed by how easily the unions worked. I did use some plumbers dope on the meeting surfaces, but other than that I just made sure that everything was tightened up appropriately.Seems pretty easy to me, plumbing is fun!
