Lucky me. I did a test leak before installing this union into my house plumbing system or I would have dammed. The contact surfaces was poorly machined that it won't seal each others. I have tried deburr, polish, over tighten, it just leak. Don't want to remove my soldered joins, I made a teflon gasket for it to properly sealed. Don't buy this unless you know how to make a sealing gasket for it.

I purchased 4 of these unions for a waterline project. I've been installing sweat fittings for decades and never had much trouble sweating fittings or seating unions until I tried using these. When I pressure tested these Everbuilt unions 2 out of 2 installed unions wouldn't seal. I removed them both and installed a different brand of unions and they seated and sealed without any issues. If you can't seat unions with 2 - 18" Cresent wrenches it isn't going to happen. I could feel the metal starting to seize and they were still leaking like a loose fitting. I took them all back. 100% fail rate indicates defective design or manufacturing, or both. They are difficult enough to install once.... Installing them, removing, and replacing them is even worse. Save yourself the trouble and find another product that works.

fitting sweated in OK but when connected, despite aligning well visually, still leaked. I ended up putting teflon tape over the connection and threads which seems to have eliminated the drip.

just stay away, go to a plumbing supply house instead. i installed two of them on my hot water heater today and all i got were leaks... the seat of the union is terrible and i wasted so much time. was easier to just put in coupler.

Poor workmanship on the flanges, they never properly seated, which caused it to leak, could never stop the leak. Removed the unit and purchased another at a plumbing store that worked properly.

I was leery buying some off brand part, but when I opened the package I was pleased to see it was made by NIBCO. Gave it 4 stars because copper on one side was formed slightly off a perfect center line. Otherwise it works as it should.

The fittings were machined off center and they leaked no matter how tight they were made up they both were bad and cost me a lot of time. Garbage T $30 each. From a Plumber with 50 years experience

A lot smaller than the last unions I had purchased in 1/2" size. I was wary of their long term performance, being about a third lighter in metal content. They are working ok so far, but I am still concernef with long term leaks. The new, smaller ones are all i can find anywhere. I left the hole in the wall open to check on them for a month or two. I still don't trust them. I used 4 on my new shower/ bath control to make changing it out next time easier.

Sweated this on a copper line. No problem with the sweat joints but the union kept leaking. Wrapped with Teflon with no success. Removed and put a coupling
