Quite often these issues have to do with the environment you’re operating on and knowing why the tool is reacting to density changes that may not be studs. Useless, waste of money. Returning!
As many other reviewers have described, this “tool” is unreliable junk. Using it to locate studs will almost certainly, and ironically, result in far more erroneous holes in your finished wall than the ol’ knock and finish nail approach. Thinking I may be working on a wall with irregular stud spacing, I sanity-checked on a wall I built recently with 16” OC studs and 1/2” sheetrock. No surprise, the tool failed to accurately locate the studs. Save yourself time, money and headache— pass on this useless joke of a studfinder.

I bought this specifically for its advertised usefulness for finding...
I bought this specifically for its advertised usefulness for finding studs or joists to a depth of 1-1/2 inches. But it was totally useless for locating joists that are 1-1/4” deep. Did a good job locating wall studs behind simple drywall, but, other studfinders will do that for 1/4 the price.

Great stud finder. Little pricey, but got the job done. Was easy to find edges and center of wall studs thru drywall.

Doesn’t find anything
Everything is a stud with this sensor. Even just drywall. Even with deep scan doesn’t work. Trash product.

There are enough variables in wall construction (insulation properties, moisture issues, general inconsistencies, etc. etc.) that we would have to do some trouble shooting with you to figure out why your HD70 is registering the whole wall as a stud like you describe. it works but inconsistent. out of 10 same slides it...
it works but inconsistent. out of 10 same slides it will show edges/center maybe 4-5 times and not necessarily in the exact same locations.
