Great Dishwasher! Washes very well heated dry feature works pretty well
Was able to install the unit in under 30 minutes. Everything hooked up to standard existing connections. I used a plug end cord (not hardwire). Dishwasher has not leaked, failed to clean any level of baked or left on food. Filters are easy to clean and I am using colored vinegar for Rinse-aid and it is much cheaper and working exactly the same as pricey Jet dry. Very easy install, great beginner DIY project!!

    Quiet and works well
We have had this product for about a month now and have had no issues what so ever. Of course, we are treating it with kid gloves because our last washing machine was seven years old before it was replaced. We live in an area that has hard water, so of course we use a water softener and etc. With that being said, the old dish washer had issues leaving spots on glasses even on smaller loads. This is no longer an issue for glasses, pots, or pans. The dish washer is very user friendly and easy to utilize. There are a number of washing options and features. One of the best things is the buttons are hidden. We have a son that is nearly two years of age and he has tried repeatedly to open the dish washer with no luck. We have been very pleased with the device thus far. The only complaints I have about this product are the following. 1. The containter that holds the silverware on the door could be thought out a bit better. There are plastic lids that cover over each section. If your silverware is not the perfect size there is no point in trying to use the lids.We find that they just get in the way and would be better if they did not exist at all. 2. The basket that holds the silverware also can open up and cause the silverware to dump out if you aren't holding it just right. 3. The instructions on how to add the liquid to help your dishes and silverware dry faster. i.e. Jet Dry, It would be nice if the instructions were a bit clearer on this process. It doesn't take much effort, to figure it out. Overall, we have been pleased with this machine and would recommend this to a friend or etc. Thanks

The most for the least amount of money
This replaced the most expensive and best reviewed dishwasher that was bought 4 years ago. The old machine had the drain pump go out and would have cost almost as much as this dishwasher to have fixed. For the price of the old machine I can buy 3 of these. This unit cleans just as well as the old one and almost as quiet. I bought it on sale and for the money you can't buy a better machine. People have complained about the utensil holder on the door but you can take it off and place it in the bottom rack which works better for me. There is still plenty of room.

Great dishwasher with nice options, looks and low price.
I did a lot of research before purchasing this dishwasher. We wanted a energy efficient as well as water efficient machine and we couldn't be more happier with our choice. We use the sensor cycle and everything comes out looking clean. Ours has the hidden controls, it look great in our kitchen. We had to really listen to make sure it was running, very quiet. One thing you must do is add the drying agent. It makes a big difference on how everything comes out dryer and the inside of the machine also. We have had it now over a month and no complaints. Hopefully will say the same a year from now.

We have had this dishwasher for 2.5 months and are completely satisfied.
We chose the top control model in our attempt to keeping our 2 year old granddaughter from constantly pushing buttons or turning knobs. The 2 year old child problem has been completely handled. I guess we should be thankful to our granddaughter for helping us to make this decision because we are also extremely pleased with its appearance, quiet operation, cleaning performance and value. What a great improvement from our previous machine.

    Great product for the price.
I purchased this dishwasher as a replacement for another; I like its sleek look and for the first time, chose a model that has the control panel on top edge of door. I like the flexibility of being able to move the cutlery basket; however I agree with other reviewers that keeping this on the door is awkward and takes more time to insert each piece into its respective place. I also like the feature of top rack only cycle for a few pieces. Does a great job cleaning but you do need a rinse aid to promote better drying. It takes a little getting used to the pauses in cycles (energy saving feature), and it's pretty quiet. Installers were quick once I had the shut off valve replaced.

    Easy to Install
I bought this dishwasher to replace an old (1964, original to the house) dishwasher and could not be more pleased. This dishwasher was easy to install and has tons of features. Regarding the installation, the previous home-owner had installed a 0.75'' laminate floor in the kitchen so that the hole which the dishwasher had to fit through was only 33.5'' tall. Fortunately this dishwasher is designed to fit through a hole that short. This dishwasher has a much larger tub than the old one despite the overall dimensions being the same -- so it holds many more dishes. It also has a more practical use of interior space so you can fit more large dishes in. Finally, this dishwasher has many energy and water saving modes, however they require more time (roughly 3 hours) to complete a load and leave moisture in the dishwasher. Fortunately, there are modes for running faster (1 hour) and heated dish drying.

    Great bang for your buck
The dishes come out clean, enough said! The silverware basket has dividers between each utensil preventing it from being overloaded and them coming out dirty. This unit also has a metal handle giving it a very sturdy feel when opening the door.

    Great mid level dishwasher
I bought this at HD when they were offering it at their Black Friday price with free delivery. For the purposed of this review, I am basing my rating on the price I paid, not the MSRP. Although the option to have it installed was also at a reduced price, I chose to do it myself. If you haven't before, it's incredibly easy if you have some DIY skills. Whirlpool made it even easier by making the water supply line attach with a hose type attachment* (no plumbers dope or Teflon tape required). Once installed, I ran it on a quick wash cycle to test for leaks or unknown noises that would suggest a problem (it passed with flying colors). The first thing I noticed was how quiet it is. My previous machine sounded like a car wash so anything was better but this exceeded my expectations. Unless you are sitting in a silent house, you won't hear it. The capacity is excellent and the rack configuration options are a nice touch (i.e., some tines on the upper rack fold to allow for larger objects). There are a variety of washing options in the control panel and enough to satisfy anyone. And speaking of the control panel, we bought this model because of the top-of-the-door controls. My 1 year old no longer starts (and wets down) a full, clean load anymore. My wife and I have run this every/every other night for a month and have not had anything come out dirty. I only gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1) Like others have mentioned before me (and I knew about before I purchased), the silverware basket on the door is clumsy and hard to load/unload. There are slots where the utensils have to be inserted/extracted one at a time and I don't like the fact that I have to touch the mouthpiece of every fork and spoon when putting them away. Even with clean hands, fingerprints on them suggest that they are dirty. The issue of it being on the door can be fixed by placing the basket on the bottom rack. I like having the option though. 2) Again, as others have mentioned, dishes don't come out totally dry. It's not a huge deal, but it would be great if they didn't. I'm not talking about some moisture, but I tend to get some puddling on the tops (actually bottom of) coffee mugs. I don't have huge expectations, but it seems a bit much sometimes. Yes, this even occurs when I have a full basin of drying agent and on heated dry.** If I had paid full MSRP, I probably would have dropped to 3.5 stars but at the sale price, I feel this is an excellent buy. All in all, this is a solid dishwasher and I would recommend it- especially if it can be found on sale. *This does not come with the machine and must be purchased separately. **Please note that I am under the assumption that top of the line dishwashers completely dry all the dishes and there isn't the aforementioned silverware basket issue.

Performs well but lacks utensil space
When our 3 yr-old builder-grade GE dishwasher bit the dust we decided to pick up this dishwaser which was on sale at Depot. We performed installation ourselves which was very easy. We have granite countertops and the unit only comes with the top brackets for mounting to wood/composite counters. The top brackets are identical to the side-mounts that you can purchase but they are a little longer. Nothing tin-snips and a file couldn't resolve in 5 minutes. Mounting to the side of the cabinets was straight forward and worked like a charm. No need to purchase side-mount brackets. The dishwasher is pretty quiet, comparible to our builder-grade GE. The dishes come out clean and shiny, something our previous never did! On to the negatives. The front of the washer comes with a protective film that you need to peel off. Ours had three pieces film in total. The middle piece left residual marks on the stainless (not glue, just odd smudges) that have so far proved impossible to remove. It's not so noticable that it warrants a return, but enough that I can see it. Not noticable from afar though. We've tried every cleaner out there so far but still have not been able to remove the marks. We've attached a picture of these marks... Utensils - ugg! The utensil holder is on the door.. While this may seem like a good space-saver it in reality is not. The bottom rack of the dishwasher seems to be made slightly smaller to accomodate the few inches that the utensil holder takes up while mounted on the door. This means that the main bottom rack does not even accomodate two large plates front-to-back; something our previous did with no problems. The utensil holder itself is very small - we find it fills up very fast (considering we're a family of 4 - including two kids!). Though you can remove the holder from the door and use it in the bottom rack, this only makes the smaller bottom rack even smaller and does nothing to increase the number of utensils it can hold. The top rack is adjustable though you have to pull out and remove the entire tray and then align a different set of wheels and then reinstall the tray to do so. At the lowest setting (to allow several larger water bottles marked top-only to fit) the bottom section does not accomodate dinner-sized dishes; they hit the spinning water bar. We've had to resort to leaving the top section at the highest level and wash those items by hand. All in all we are happy with our purchase. The only item that makes us apprehensive is the lack of utensil space. It just seems this was not thought out well enough. The small on-the-door design has caused us more then a few AAAAARRRRG!! moments :) Unfortunately our previous dishwasher's holder did not fit this one so we were unable to retro fit it :( Considering we 'only' spent $399 on sale, we feel it was a good investment.

    I love this dishwasher
It's bigger inside than my old one so I can wash larger items than I could before. And I don't have to run it as often. It is so quiet I don't even know it's on. It is Jet Black and shiny. I contacted their support and asked if it was safe to remove the Whirlpool Logo badge on the front. They said yes. It peeled off easily. And since the controls are hidden, it looks really sleek and clean when closed. It's so shiny, it was hard to photograph. And it cleans the dishes perfectly.

    Worst Dishwasher ever....
I'll try to post 3 pics of dirty dishes that were the result of a "Sensor wash" cycle with the detergent that came with this dishwasher, which I got on sale for $200.00 off the normal price. My 5 yr. old Admiral dishwasher could wash circles around this Whirlpool. It might not have been as energy efficient but at least my dishes were clean on just the "normal" cycle. I wanted to complete my new stainless kitchen appliance look or I would not have bought this model. My hot water heater temp is correctly set. Finger prints are almost impossible to remove. The control panel is hidden so you never know where the machine is in the cycle. The flatware holder will NOT fit on the door and allow the machine door to close. It bumps into the bottom rack and the door will not close. So you must put it in the bottom rack. I like for my flatware to be on the door to free up space on the bottom rack. One of the reasons I bought this model and now it doesn't work as advertised. Flatware gets moved around in the cycle. The blue flatware holders that fit on top of the flatware rack have holes that are too SMALL for my flatware, so I had to remove the worthless plastic piece. It is designed so it would limit the number of pieces of flatware that you could put in the rack anyway. Ridiculous idea as other has said. Lastly....It is not as quiet as I had hoped or be led to believe it was from other reviewers. Again I put the noise level at the same level as my old Admiral. I can clealy hear it in the living room from the far away kitchen area. I wish I could return it. I am so very disappointed in the performance, noise level and ability to keep the front clean. Just a huge waste of a lot of money !!!

      Great dishwasher, installation nightmare
I was thrilled by how quiet and spacious this dishwasher was compared to our old one. I can run much larger loads which means running less cycles. The dishes come out sparkling clean. I highly recommend the product itself, but our installation by Home Depot's vendor was a disaster.

      Love it!
Love it! I read a million reviews, and most seemed good for this model. I got it because i heard it rarely requires service due to breaking or malfunctioning. I was worried about some of the reviews for the drying cycle, saying the dishes were wet. My dishes were squeaky clean and super dry! I used the sensor cycle and heated dry cycle, I also used the drying agent and cascade soap packs. The only time the dishes weren't completely dry is when I used the one hour cycle. I love this dishwasher! I've never had one that worked this well! It's great! I love how I can move the silverware tray anywhere I want also. I also love the top rack only wash cycle as we are a small family. Great buy. I love Home Depot's Free Delivery too!

It cleaned my dishes as described.
I used Cascade and rinse aid included with the machine and loaded it with dirty dishes. The dishes had dried food particles and nothing was pre-washed. They came out spotless. The silverware holder slots are not big enough for my Onida flatware.

      Great product, great value!
I have had this dishwasher for about two months and absolutely love it. It does a great job washing the dishes and it is virtually silent. I didn't expect it to be as quiet as it is, but I am not complaining about that! It looks great, especially with the hidden controls. The Sensor Cycle is great. Also, the dishes come out dry every time (just make sure you have a rinse aid in there). The silverware holder can be placed in multiple places within the dishwasher. The only downside is that it is a bit small. But, that hasn't really been much of an issue. I would definitely recommend this product!

      Super quiet & many features
Very satisfied with this purchase. It is super quiet, cleans great, has nearly any feature that you could need and was reasonably priced. My wife loves the silverware holder, with the ability to separate each utensil. There have been times where I had to ask if the dishwasher has run because it really is that quiet. It is a really nice looking appliance, too.

Gold Top Control Dishwasher in Black
I have not had a good dishwasher in a long time and I got used to washing the dishes by hand. I recently repainted my kitchen and wanted to buy a new dishwasher at the insistence of my girlfriend. I did a lot of research and this one had the best consumer reviews so it's the one I bought and I could not be happier, It's a great machine I am amazed at how clean the dishes and glasses are. I use Cascade every time and that helps I tried another brand of soap and the results were not as good. I would highly recommend this dishwasher
