Spray keeps falling
This dishwasher does a very good job to clean dishes and is easy to use. The spray on the top keeps falling and had to attach it basically every time I use the dishwasher.

    Hey Good Looking
I went back and forth between a couple Whirlpool models and decided on this one for its unique design. I love a splash of the stainless steel handle on the ice-white front. Beautiful, unique design. I haven't use it much but the few loads came out good compared to my old model, this one cleans twice as good. I paid to have the installation done by Home Depot. The installer did a fantastic job, quick, clean every thing was done in half an hour. Very happy with my choice.

Been cleaning wonderfully at a great price!
We had NO dishwasher, so it's tough to compare this to anything else, however we've had it installed about a month now and have been very pleased with it. Installation was very easy, but you WILL need parts/an installation kit! Everything extra needed is listed clearly in the manual (available online). Runs very quiet, and the 2.5 hour runtime doesn't bother us at all as we usually will let it run overnight. For quick needs you can use the 1 hour wash, but I'm very happy with the power & water use from the longer sensor/normal cycles. This is the model with the plastic interior tub, but I saw no reason needed for that to be stainless (stainless version has slightly lower noise level, but I can hardly imagine that). All in all, we are very happy with this purchase especially for what we paid. Not as many features/options as some of the pricier models out there, but for our usage needs and price point, we've been more than satisfied. UPDATED TO ADDRESS OTHER REVIEWS: 1st: The silverware tray can be moved off the door and attached to the OUTSIDE front of the bottom rack. This way you do NOT lose any additional rack/plate space as one reviewer mentioned, and it makes loading the utensil carrier MUCH easier (I too was not a fan of having to open the door halfway to deal with this issue, and have been much happier since!) 2nd: I don't use the heated dry option, but my dishes come out pretty dry even as soon as the cycle ends without additional drying or waiting time. To those saying they're using the heated dry option AND letting their load sit for hours and everything is still wet, are you using a rinse aid? The manual specifically states the importance of this, and even if you're using washer packs that may have an aid inside them you still need to add rinse aid in the designated compartment. I filled it up with Jet Dry from day one, left the setting at the default of 1 (note you can increase the amount of rinse aid used if you're having drying issues, also mentioned in the manual) and don't have any wet dish issues or a need to add more yet. The one thing I do notice is that items of other materials will be left wet, such as plastic or wood or some metal pans. This is just an effect of what materials the rinse aid is designed for, and I do not think should not be considered an issue. 3rd: To the people describing and posting pictures of half unused detergent packs or finding them in the dishwasher, are you making sure that no utensils are blocking the the detergent door from opening fully during the cycle? Our butter knives happen to be tall enough to do this, so I have to make sure that when loading the utensil tray I don't have any knives blocking the detergent door otherwise I will find I'm left with a similar issue. As long as I make sure there is room for the door to open, I've not found any pieces of unused washer packs unless I found I had something blocking the dispenser door from fully opening during the cycle. Hope this helps!

    Multiple features
We just bought our second Whirlpool dishwasher, doing so because the previous one served us so well. We love the Sensor feature and use it almost exclusively. We were talking just last night about how clean and shiny our dishes were. Also, the noise level is very quiet. The interior is designed so that we can get a FULL load clean safely. We are sooo happy with our purchase.

      First brand new dishwasher!!!!
This is the first new dishwasher I have owned and love it! It's quite, and the racks inside have different positions if you have taller cups on top which is great! For the DIY it's extremely easy to install yourself!!!!!

        Nice and quiet!
I've had this dishwasher for about a month now and have zero complaints. It's very quiet when it runs! My favorite part is that the controls are all hidden unless you open the door, so visually it's very clean and sleek. It fits a lot of dishes, and the removable flatware organizer makes for easy unloading. All in all, a great dishwasher!

              Worth Every Penny!
This dishwasher is great! It does a great job cleaning the dishes! I don't actually have to hand wash the dishes before I put it in the dishwasher. Much much much quieter than our last dishwasher. Easy to install. Holds a lot of dishes and pots and pans! Great price! Very happy with it!

                Cookie sheets?
Pros: Looks good. Works well. Quite. Cons: 3.5 hour "normal" wash cycle. Door silverware tray design is horrible (have to have the door half open to load). WILL NOT FIT A COOKIE SHEET!!!! No side install/sound baffles. This is supposed to be a TALL tub machine, yet it will not accommodate tall items. Loading the silverware on the door is a the worst idea ever. Also, there are no side baffles that close the gap between the machine and the cabinets. Bought this item online based on the many rave reviews. if you ONLY wash dishes it might be a great machine. If you are looking for a dish washer to wash platters, or similar tall items, find a different machine. Going back to the store. Photo shows that a cookie sheet will fit but the washing arm cannot rotate even with the top rack in the "high" position.

                    DONT BUY THIS DISHWASHER
DOES NOT DRY ! Dishes are very wet after the end of cycle. Even the interior walls are wet. Utensil basket drips water. Brand new dishwasher and EVERYTHING had to be hand dried. Also the handle sticks out way too far. Its a real hip hazard. The door is very heavy and super hard to open. What a disappointment.

I bought it. I installed it. The wifie uses it. Momma is happy enough said...My persona! Thought on what the EPA wants to do to your industry trying to make you use 3.1 gallons to wash the dishes. They don't have a clue. They need to Leave us working people alone. Just saying...keep it made in The USA...Keeping it real in the kitchen!!!

                        QUIET!
I was so used to the old clunky loud dishwasher and had no idea they made them this quiet! I am thankful for the little green light or I am not sure I would know it was running! Looks great. Bright white with a sleek stainless handle fits in nicely with my other white ice appliances with a touch of something extra. I am very pleased with this product and it cleans great!

                        Really nice Dishwasher
Our old diswasher died and had to be replaced. After a week of shopping online and in local stores we decided to get this one. I installed it my self. The installation was very easy. It came with most of the items to install it. I decided to get a new feed line just to be on the safe side. After installation my wife did her first load. It operates very quietly and does a fantastic job. She could not be happier. I would recommend this model to anyone wanting a efficient good looking diswahser!

                          Almost Perfect
The good:This washer has a larger interior than my old Maytag that it replaced. The height adjustable top rack makes it easier to load tall items, like certain glasses. The washing performance is great, I have no complaints at all in that regard. The flatware basket can mount to the door thus freeing up space on the racks, but it can also be placed in the racks. The controls are hidden, thus making for a smooth clean appearance. There is a little blue indicator light while it is running so you know it's on. This dishwasher is VERY quiet. The not so good:Most of my complaints has to do with the flatware rack. Loading it is a bit of a chore while mounted on the door. However, it easily lifts off if you care to load it that way but mounting the rack after it is loaded is a bit of a chore. This is not a major complaint. Now for a more serious complaint, the flatware basket has 2 rows of slots to hold and keep your items separated. The front row of slots are so small I don't have a single item that can fit into them, thus rendering them completely useless. The back row of slots are a bit larger and I can fit many of my flatware items in those. For items that don't fit into the slots though, the slot panel can be flipped up (it is hinged, in sections). I really wish they would redesign the slots on the flatware rack.None of the tines on the bottom rack can be flipped down, thus making loading some larger items problematic. The height adjusters for the top rack are a bit of a chore to use.Overall:In spite of the several items I have criticized I really like this dishwasher and recommend it. If Whirlpool would give it a few tweaks it would be perfect.

What a difference a new dishwasher makes!
With out old unit lasting 10 years, it was time for a new upgrade. After reviewing several options we decided to go with the Whirlpool Gold with Silverware Spray. We have been thrilled with is results in cleaning and most impressed by how quiet it is over our old unit.

                              Waste of money....
Bought this dishwasher because of ALL the positive reviews I had read. It looks nice, easy to use, etc. However, my first problem...heated dry did not work well. Dishes would be dripping wet after a cycle. I always start my dishwasher before I go to bed. So its not like I open the dishwasher, as soon as its done. Annoying because it'd take half a day to air dry. That seemed to work itself out a few months later. ok. However, the WORST part about this dishwasher is....I use the recommended Cascade power pacs. Every time I open the dishwasher..Now I find half the pac somewhere in the dishwasher. Dishes dry and spotted with detergent. Great! That means I have to "rewash" every item in there. Which is super, esp with our California drought!!! Do yourself a favor-avoid this dishwasher!!!!

                                  I love my whirlpool dishwasher(s)!
I replaced my old whirlpool with this gorgeous looking new one after 12+ years of reliable service. I read reviews on so many different brands before buying a new one. Finally I thought, why make this harder than it has to be? I loved our current model and my dishes were always clean and that's the most important part to me. I read the other reviews about not having enough space for utencils so I kept the baskets from my old model and honestly I haven't needed them. I don't use rinse aid so sometimes there are droplets of water on some of the Tupperware but it's not a big enough deal for me to spend twice the price. I love the features especially the delay wash, my dishes are clean and it looks phenomenal in our kitchen.

                                    Very quiet dishwasher
Didn't give a 5 star review because the silverware basket when placed in the bottom tray, doesn't lock to the tray, it just seats there, making it very easy to bump and fall.We like everything else.

                                      First Impressions
I recently replaced an ancient Whirlpool dishwasher in my house with this model. I did the installation work myself. It was a learning experience. First, I learned they don't build them like the use to. My old "beater" DW had a steel tub with a porcelain lining inside. This one is of course, plastic. The old DW had solid metal plumbing fixture to tie into. This one was aging all plastic. I had to purchase and connect a right-angle a right-angle metal hose fitting to the new DW's water supply intake which was plastic. The first thing I noticed when the installation was complete was that the stainless steel door shows every smudge, water spot and fingerprint, so I also had to buy some SS cleaner. While the new DW is much quieter than the old DW, the wash cycle times are 3 to 4 times as long. The control panel with its status indicator is located on the top of the door which is impossible to see when the door is closed...dah. There's a little green LED on the front of the door that is lite during the wash part of the cycle, but not during the drying cycle....again, dah!The new DW comes with little separators for the utensils rack. Unfortunately, the openings are way to small for my silverware. I removed all the separators I could.I have yet to use the supposedly required rinse aid as I never had to for the past 20 years, but some of the metal utensils are coming out with rust on them, so I guess I'll have to start using the rinse aid.I live alone and therefore it takes a few days for me to fill the DW and I've noticed, even tho I rinse the dishes well before loading, the new DW can really start to small bad after a couple days. The old old never did.The design of the upper rack seems confusing to me. I have yet to figure out the best place to load my dishes. They don't fit as well as they used to, altho the new DW does have more space in inside. All in all, for the money I paid for it, I think the new DW will suffice in the long run. It's nice to be able to hear the TV in the next room will the DW is running. The dishes come out relatively clean...just as the always have in the past.

I'm so very pleased with the whirlpool gold dishwasher and would recommend to anyone. If you are looking for a quieter and a fantastic cleaning dishwasher then this is the dishwasher for you. Installation was a breeze for a first timer / novice. We love the clean lines and the hidden controls. We've put white coffee mugs stained with tea in, they are totally white which is something we've never been able to accomplish. Our dishes come out clean, dry, and streak-free. The machine isn't whisper quiet, but it's still fairly quiet and has never bothered us. The dish trays are very quality and don't acratch easily. After so much research, we feel we made the perfect choice and can't recommend this dishwasher enough.
