    It actually cleans the dishes
This dishwasher is so superior to my old dishwasher the dishes actually come out clean without prewashing them. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but so far I love it. It was easily installed and it holds a lot of dishes.

    Great washing, not great exterior
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the dishwasher after searching for quite a while. We were impressed with the power and promise of clean dishes. As far as the washer providing that, we have been very pleased. The exterior, though, leaves much to be desired as we have been unable to find a method that truly leaves the surface clean looking.

      Very nice dishwasher
I'm very happy with our new dishwasher. I especially like that I can put taller items on both racks. It is also very energy efficient, but when I want to wash faster that is available, too.

      Great Cleaning Dishwasher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher has two main cleaning jets. One for each rack, and a small one on top of washer also a silverware cleaner. I have very hard water with a softener and this machine cleans perfect without leaving any water spots. Dishes come out clean and dry.

            Very quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this for about 3 weeks now and so far I like this one much more than our last one. It's quieter and cleans better. The only things that bother me is that when we run it on heat dry half the dishes are still wet after the cycle also the carrier for the silver ware has holes to fit silverware in individually and the holes are too small for the silverware we have.

              Love it!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so pleased with my new White Ice dishwasher! I love the quiet, the short cycle and my clean clean dishes. I'm so pleased that all the whirlpool features I always loved are still there. Especially the in the door silverware holder. My old dishwasher lasted for 16 years. Hope this one lasts just as long. Also love the white ice. I do not like stainless steel and am happy to have another option.

                Excellent, quiet cleaning
I needed to replace my dishwasher, but had to keep the price under $500. I did a lot of research and this model seemed to fit the bill and had excellent reviews. I'm so happy with my choice! The stainless is nice-looking, it's easy to load lots of dishes & glasses and it's very quiet. I couldn't run my old dishwasher while watching TV, but this one is a gem. Although it's not silent, it's "whisper quiet". As for cleaning, I couldn't bee more satisfied. It cleans heavily soiled dishes very well with the normal cycle and the 1 hour wash, is exceptional, even when it is packed very full. The silverware basket fits on the door, but can be placed on the lower rack, if you prefer. The upper rack is adjustable and has a stemware holder on one side (would like one on each side). Some higher priced dishwashers have more rack features and cycles but how often do we use them? This works just fine for me. We had an expensive Kitchen Aid in a condo that we rented and it didn't clean the dishes very well at all. We, also, had an Ikea dishwasher with a 1 hr. feature that left the dishes and glassware as dirty as they were before they went through the cycle. I highly recommend this dishwasher and have recommended it to my daughter and others.

                      Huge improvement
We were replacing a Whirlpool with another Whirlpool because of the quality and reliability of our old dishwasher. What a trade up! Our coffee maker is louder than this dishwasher. Everything is coming our cleaner; there is a notabill difference in the feel of our silverware. The controls are on the top and this makes for a neat and clean appearance.

It's so quiet you don't even know it's on. It has so much room you can wash all the dirty dishes your kids can make in one shot. Don't forget how sleek and high end this thing looks either. Wow!

Quite as a mouse, couldn't be more pleased
Sound: Our house has an open floor plan meaning there is no wall separation between the living room and kitchen. While I do love the open airy feel of this setup, it does have its draw backs...The biggest one being the the dishwasher. Unlike the original one that came with the house, This Whirlpool Gold series knocks it out of the park on decibel levels. There are other more expensive models promising one or two decibels quieter but I can't even imagine it getting better than this. It cleans as good and it looks and sounds too. Features/cycles/space: It has a 1 hour cycle for the impatient and a full 3 hour sanitize and everything else more, And a bunch of modes and settings in between. The sanitize setting is great for families that have babies and wash alot of bottles, i didnt previously trust other dishwashers to really sanitize but with this you can see it gets it done, just be careful with thin plastics as it will definitely melt it. As far as the ergonomics of it... its great, the silverware basket is right in front and removable for easy put away or storable on the inside of the door, the top rack is adjustable and even on the lowest setting it still has more room that other washers have. Finish: The only down side to this washer is the stainless steel, Like all stainless steel appliances it collects fingerprints and water spots but its easily wipeable with specific stainless steel wipes. Its definitely real stainless steel, the handle is solid stainless as well. I like the use of "real" materials and not foe finishes or plastics. Installation: We chose to install the dish washer ourselves. It is super light to transport and get into the house. Once we got it out of the box we noticed it comes with everything needed for install, we purchased an install kit but returned it after finding this out . It installs like any other washer would, it's got great instructions and startup guide, you wont be lost. The outer insulation is super thick so it makes a tight fit under your counter and between the base cabinets so you might have to inch it in as i did. Once its in it looks beautiful. Tips: Get the install kit anyways just in case you need an updated fitting, you can always return if not needed Purchase stainless wipes, you'll only need one or two a week When installing, slide it in below the counter with the feet adjusted to the lowest positions to make sliding it in easy Dont be affraid to put really dirty plates in, it will clean it Every once in a while run an empty sanitize load to keep the inside clean

                                  Very Good dishwasher
We have had this unit in operation now for about 6 weeks and we are very happy with it. We selected the Whirlpool for the following reasons: dimensions, price, features and made in USA. The opening in our cabinets for a dishwasher requires a 34.5 inch height. Of the units available in that size the Whirlpool stood out in good looks and features. It operates quietly. We can use the TV or radio while it is running without raising the volume. Of all the cycles available we find we use the 1 hour cycle the most. Every thing gets spotless clean including silverware and since it completes in 1 hour it seems to be the most efficent cycle in terms of electricity and water use. One feature it does not have is just a simple rinse and stop. For this we use the 1 hour cycle and cancel it after the first part of the cycle finishes. A bonus for us was that this unit was on sale at Home Depot the week we bought it.

                                  Very quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced a GE dishwasher with this unit. It is much quieter. I particularly like the 1 hour wash feature. Either we don't dirty our dishes very much (??) or the 1 hour cycle does an excellent job. Nice to have it finish the job so quickly. Really could not see any difference between that and the longer cycle. Our old GE did not have a quick wash feature. I like this dishwasher!

                                    Great dishwasher
This is so quiet we barely notice it. Very large inside compared to the old whirlpool. I keep accidentally slamming the racks because I'm not used to it yet. The door opens up down nearly to my ankles so you have to bend over further to load it. If you can afford it I suggest going for the stainless tub. Our old dishwasher eventually had knicks where you load silverware. Typical for an 8 year old one I'm sure.

                                      Great Appliance
I love my new dishwasher. I have had several over the past 15 years and this one cleans better and holds more dishes by far. It is silent running, a faint water spraying is all you can hear. The settings have to be made before closing the door and then started because the counter top covers most of the settings, which may be because of a counter top installation error. However, I have adjusted to this and am completely happy with this dishwasher. I would buy it again if I needed to do over again. I highly recommend this dishwasher.

                                        Poor control placement
I just completed installation of this dishwasher, so this review covers my initial observations/frustrations. For now, I'll assume the performance is adequate, but will update later if I find it lacking. The placement of the controls on the top of the door is terrible. The dishwasher is designed to be installed fairly snug to the under side of the counter top--per the instructions and supplied brackets/clips. The instructions also call for the front to be installed flush with the front of the cabinets. The illustration in the installation manual shows the washer DOOR flush with the front of the cabinets, not the basin. Installed in this way, the buttons on the the top of the door are inaccessible. So my first thought was, "Perhaps you are supposed to press the buttons before closing the door." Nope. The START button is on the top. Impossible to start with the door open. And the procedure for cancelling a wash is the press and hold the start button for 3 seconds--also impossible with the recommended installation. I ended up compromising by dropping the entire unit down by about 1/2 to 3/4 inch and moving it forward so it the tub is closer to flush with the cabinets, rather than the door. This leaves just enough room to fit a finger in the press the start button, though you still have the bend down to see the timer. It also yields a gap at the top, between the top of the dishwasher and the bottom of the counter. This is not obvious to adults because of the perspective, but it is noticeable when leaning down to load the unit. Plus, I know it's there, and that bothers me. I'll probably end up finding a piece of trim to match the cabinets to glue to the underside of the granite to fill the space. This will also give me more flexibility in attaching the brackets considering the challenge in drilling holes in the stone. Finally, I'm unimpressed with the water hookup. The dishwasher installation kit I order with the unit included the required 90 degree connector--a nice brass version. The place to connect it under the dishwasher is cheap plastic. The instructions even advise extra caution here since it is such a critical connection, and easy to damage. The nice brass piece did NOT want to thread nicely onto the plastic piece squarely. It took many tries to get it seated properly, and it did start to strip slightly. I managed to get it connected, but please, Whirlpool, can't you add just a little quality to the most important connection?! Finally, don't forget to order a power cord if you are not hard wiring. Unbelievably, my local hardware store did not have one, so yet another trip to Home Depot. Might be nice if it was suggested, along with the "Universal Dishwasher Installation Kit".

A nirmal cycle takes 4.5 hours and it diesnt even clean well. Lieces have been falling off after a few months. This weekend the drawer finally broke. 1.1 years after purchase so its out of warranty. Best Dishwasher for Price!!!
This dishwasher is so universally easy to load and put things in of all shapes and sizes. My silverware gets clean in the door pockets for it and dishes top and bottom can get in there perfectly. I've always been a little OCD about getting dishes clean and this is the best dishwasher I have ever seen or used. Always clean, no residue and great look! You must get this dishwasher!!!

                                              Super quiet and cleans well!
We purchased a new Whirlpool stainless steel dishwasher to upgrade the 15-year old white Whirlpool dishwasher (which incidentally ran perfectly for 15 years) and we love the quietness of this new one. It washes really well, and it's nice to have the control panel in the upper ledge of the door so it gives a cleaner look on the exterior. The racks are set up well, and I like the Whirlpool brand because of the fact that the silverware tray is hung on the inside of the door, leaving more room for more dishes in the dishwasher. We're very happy with our new Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher and definitely recommend it!
