This is a second one I have ordered. I loved our first one, which lasted a few years. I have read many mixed reviews, but personally had great luck with my first one. The only problem I had was that once in a while the rewind had to be guided a little, because it would get stuck due to hose mis-alignment on the reel. Otherwise, it has served us well. for quite a while. I'm guessing 4 years, maybe more. Some part broke on it recently, so I ordered a new one. It stores a very long hose and is attractive enough.

The drain hose is quite difficult to attach. I used extremely hot water to relax the end in order to force it onto the attachment.

This was a replacement for the one I had.

I like it, my only issue is that the lid was broken upon unboxing. The flip up lid has two plastic pieces that act as corner posts or hinge points. One of them was broken off and I found it in the bottom of the box. Please send me another one.

Very handy & great quality

Cheap material cheaply put together. Plastic gears and guides will skip pop off and lock up. Worked great the first time it wound. Seems that the wrong kind of plastic is being used, if you live anywhere remotely hot the plastic will warp. Stay far away from this product. I thought made in the USA used to mean something. I have no problem spending more money for something constructed better that will last along time. I guess I’ll just turn mine into a fancy trash can.

I have had several of these and they really help me since I am disabled. I have 3 of them in service now.

The only reason I don't give this item a 5 start review is because the lids have all flown off and cracked. the wind grabs them and causes them to flip up. The hinges are plastic and only last so long. Easily replaceable with a drywall screw once they snap off. For the most part this works great. On the driveway it will pull a 100' hose in by itself, on the grass it takes some help but still works well.

This is about the 4th one I've owned. They are perfect for a few years and then the rewind mechanism starts to stick. I gave it an excellent because it works perfectly for a number of years. There's just no way to know when it will fail.

When I returned the Aquawinder that I had initially purchased, I realized that upon purchasing a replacement Aquawinder that the first one was a used incomplete product. I guess that is why It broke down. There were several missing parts. I would not have known that if I had not replaced it.

I love it! Saves my back from having to do it manually.

Gears were stripped out after one use with a 25ft. hose. Used 5 gallons of water to rewind.

Did Not Come With A Feeder Hose.

I purchased the auto-rewind hose reel about 2 months ago. Easy to assemble. Securing to my asphalt driveway required a masonry bit which I already owned. Anchors supplied with the hose reel securely hold the hose reel in place when unwinding hose from reel and when using auto-rewind. All in all a very good product.

Plastic garbage. It WILL work for a very short time. Then either of these scenarios will take place: 1. The black PLASTIC circle guide ring on the bottom that the hose goes through will just keep popping off. You have to bend it to get it back on, and eventually after doing that EVERY TIME for a month, its become too flimsy to work. You have to know that a 100 foot hose weights a lot when its coiled onto itself, so why have the hose guide PLASTIC??? or....this happens... 2 The PLASTIC forward/rewind handle will break off at the unit and then it's crap. Great idea. Poor execution. Will someone please make one of these that is NOT 100% plastic where it counts?

This hose reel is a back saver. No more winding up hoses. I just love it.

Where has this been all my life??? Best invention ever!

I very much like this kind of hose winder. With this one I had to work on it to make the hose go back and forth so it doesn't just wind up one side. It seemed to be stuck on one side. I have another one that has been working very well.

Works as advertised. The hose that directs water out to rewind does kink too easily. But as long as you keep it straight, everything works well.

The problem is that it does not rewind uniformly. It tends to over-wind on one side and then the hose slips over the side and continues to wind...making it difficult to pull it out. I have to stand over it and watch it winding and make adjustments as it goes along.

This is my second Suncast auto winding hose reel. The first one was superb. This one, with a slightly different top opening (not split like the first one), works very slowly when it doesn’t need h”help” winding a 60’ hose. Disappointing.

Zero Stars for this product and company. I've owned Suncast products for over 10 years. Had issue with previous products and customer service rep was able to help resolve the issue. However, as of Jun 2018, this company has down hill from customer service perspective. Called the customer service to help resolve the broken gear like many have indicated as issue and rightfully pointed out as a design flaw. No resolution, they want to charge you for the parts that are under warranty. I would stay away from Suncast products period.

Water powered winding works great.

This hose box was just installed yesterday. We were having the house painted so we were unable to complete that any earlier. I now own two of these reels and know that I could not live without either of them. We are in our 80's and the fact that the hose is retractable makes it all the more necessary. I always purchase "Suncast" products because they are well built and so nice to look at. Trish Dee

Product is great................however the item that was shipped to us was a storage tote!!!?????We ordered it on line because our Home Depot store was out of them; they have since gotten some in, and we purchased it from store.............with the credit we received!
