Horrible Icemaker
I've had this refer for five years. The icemaker stopped working after the first year and this is a known issue if you google it. There is no service in my area and they wont send you the parts to repair yourself. While the refer itself is "ok", the icemaker is poorly designed and all of them will fail due to the design flaw. I sold appliances for over ten years and would have told my customers to avoid this product and in fact all Samsung products due to the lack of support.

    I have the same refrigerator with the same problems and I understand that Samsung is under a class action lawsuit. I sincerely hope that they resolve this huge problem.

      10/10 would NOT buy again
      I’ve had this fridge for 2.5 years. After it went out of warranty, the ice cube tray in the top half keeps freezing over. This prevents ice cubes from coming out. It takes way too much effort to correct this and should not have to correct this at all.

            Shipping was done by another delivery service (excellant), they carried in on a shoulder strap and was delivered on time (4 hr time block). Features that stand out the most is the ice maker: I was a little worried about purchasing this refrigerator due to the issues people were having with the ice maker, but I did exactly what is said in the owner’s manual to flush the water lines for 6-7 minutes (I did 10 min), and we have not had any drips after filling up any glasses. It's smaller than our last refrigerator, by 2-3 cubic feet, but will have to wait and see if our energy bill drops for being an ENERGY STAR Compliant appliance. The lighting inside is awesome!! Great for night-time fillups/snacking. The shelves on the doors are plastic, but interior shelves are glass. But one thing that I wish was different, was to have a flip up shelve above the bottom glass shelve(s) to put a gallon of milk and or 2 liter of pop (standing up), I don’t like putting them in the doors b/c of the weight of them, old school I guess. Also, someone mention the unit is loud, I can hardly hear it running and matter of fact only the ice dropping makes a noise (every once in a while) and it startles the dog because of being so quiet. I would recommend this product to anyone.

              Looks aren't everything
              This product is beautiful but the brain in ours sucks the door always thinks it's open light never on ice water never work and once in a blue moon it thinks its closed, never stays at the desired temperature just like people looks aren't all that :(

                Looks expensive, is expensive, built cheap = PURCHASE THE WARRANTY
                I paid the original price for this two years ago; after taxes and fees, more than $3K. I live alone and work more than 60 hours a week. 1. Right after delivery, my ice maker makes ice that looks like glass from a broken window no matter what setting it's on. I still buy ice 2. The long slide out drawer broke at the top after two months of use 3. The filtration of the water is sketchy. I still buy bottled water. 4. My freezer no longer works after owning this for two years. I didn't think I would have issues within only two years of owning this product -- especially since I spent $3K on it. I THOUGHT WRONG and now I have to come out of the pocket and pay some third-party vendor referred by Samsung to pay for these repairs. What a sham. My advice -- don't spend more than $1.2 K for a refrigerator; just keep buying new ones. This looks great but sadly it doesn't serve the customer.

                  Ice maker headache
                  we bought this refrigerator in dec 2019 and we been having problems with the ice maker, it constantly freezes, it won’t make ice and it gets stuck. we tired of it please help.

                    We purchased this beautiful refrigerator in white. After a year we noticed small amounts of rust building up near the water dispenser. We called to have it evaluated for fear of it getting worse and we’re told our warranty does not cover RUST! I tried to explain that the rust was obviously a bi-product of a larger problem however no one would hear my claim. Sure enough, 3 years the the front is covered in rust and a complete embarrassment when entertaining guest! DO NOT BUY this refrigerator.

                      We were initially worried about purchasing this refrigerator due to the issues people had with the ice maker, but it was on Home Depot as a 1-day special (got it for $1400 instead of $2300!), so we decided to buy. So far it's been great, with absolutely no issues. It's larger than our last refrigerator, but our energy bill hasn't gone up a bit. Delivery was great. Our doors aren't very wide, but the refrigerator just squeezed through and the refrigerator was intact - and beautiful. The lighting inside is great! We're used to one refrigerator light, but this has one light on each side and one huge light with 10 led's on the top. Great for night-time snacking. Love the trays in both the refrigerator and the freezer. The deli drawer is probably my favorite part. All of my sandwich stuff in one place :) Someone mentioned that the refrigerator is cheap because it has plastic shelves. It does not have plastic shelves. Plastic does encase the shelves, but your refrigerator items rest on glass, not plastic. Someone else said the unit is loud. We haven't had that experience. In fact, we were worried that it wasn't working when we got it because it didn't make a sound. None. Only the ice dropping. The refrigerator is super easy to use and maintain.

                          Lots of known issues with Samsung refrigerators. Do some research, there are lawsuits out for things that they refuse to acknowledge as a problem. Their suggestion for me is to fix all of the issues (that all repairmen and numerous Samsung forms say will return) first and then spend an extra $600 a year to warranty the machine. FYI Do not trust the display telling you the internal temperature. After it started making noise, I noticed a skunk smell in the fridge. After placing an analogue thermometer inside, I realized the temperature was in fact 8°C warmer than displayed (2°C vs. 10°C). After holding down the “Power Cool” button, it then stated it was 7°C. Approaching 30 days since our first call, still waiting for parts to be delivered. Current temperature is now 12°C. Home Depot sold us on the extended warranty, but beware of the loss of food component in the agreement; refrigerators are covered up to $250 - but only in frozen foods! To keep this review brief, l’ve excluded the fact that our first fridge arrived damaged, our second one leaked water, with two further attempts at repairs only leading to a third one. Over 1 year later, I suspect this latest fix won’t be the last...

                              This is a good looking refrigerator that is poorly designed. The problem is the ice maker. It’s a defect that can’t be repaired. About every other month, you have to go in and manually defrost the ice maker. Ice will build up because of water spilling from the ice tray. Over time it clogs the ice maker and prevents it from producing ice. Good the French door models and you’ll see this is not an isolated problem. This is also a trend I’ve noticed with both Samsung and LG:high priced and poorly made. This is an expensive refrigerator. $2000. It should have no design flaws. Period. I had a Maytag for a decade. The ice maker never had a problem. Avoid Samsung.

                                Product arrived as scheduled and the delivery guys were great. Quick set up by them and very quick cool down of both fridge and freezer. Like the other reviews, the water dispenser did drip after using it the first day, but hasn't leaked again and have used the water and ice dispenser for the last 2 1/2 half weeks now. For a smaller fridge, it really does have a lot of room inside, and I like the swing shelf that allows for large pitchers. It does make a little noise when the water is filling the ice tray, but with all the other ambient noise in the house, it isn't bothersome and only lasts a minute. This unit meets all expectations.

Bin by ice-maker is small but not much your going to do about it unless you don't want the ice / water. I would give it a 5 now but let see what it does in a couple of years. Only complaint that I have is the doors aren't level on the top. When I leveled it, the problem got better so it could be my floors are a little out of whack. Much more convenient than the previous fridge with the freezer on top. Getting too old to be on my knees looking for something on the bottom shelf.

                                LOVE MY NEW REFRIGERATOR!!! I've only had it a day, but wanted to share how happy i am with this purchase and why. 1. I saved around $800. Bought this online during Memorial Day sale, so i was able to get a lot more refrigerator than I had budgeted. Also, since Home Depot now accepts PayPal, I am paying for it 6 months same as cash. 2. The delivery people were top notch. They arrived on time and were professional and pleasant - even with the challenges we had. This is a 70 yr old house and the entry doors are narrow. I did carefully measure and make a path before they arrived, but maybe because of all the heat and rain, the fridge (initially) wouldn't quite fit. They never flinched. They removed the weather stripping and the front door to get it in, as well as one of the fridge doors, and got it in without a scratch. Then everything was returned to how it was before, all all of this without a single sigh or complaint. Good people. 3. We hooked up the water ourselves - as we already had the water line and the store can not hook up existing lines. After running through 2 1/2 gallons of water last night, (more than required but better safe than sorry) we are already drinking cool water this morning. The ice has already filled up once and been dumped. We will dump another batch or two before using. 4.This fridge has so much room and light. Even the freezer compartments are lit! And the number of door "cubbies" allow me to segregate my stuff. One for table condiment, once for tall items, one for drink mixers, etc. The fridge we are replacing is the standard two door with freezer on top. It's done a good job for the last 15 years, and still works fine (we are donating it), but once I transferred everything to the new fridge, I STILL have ample room left in the refrigerator and freezer compartments - so no more crowding and stuffing in. And the bright light allows me to see what i need at a glance. I especially like having a compartment in the freezer for "go to" stuff like Hot Pockets and Pizza. 5. This fridge in only 33" wide, allowing me to fit it with ease into a kitchen born in 1949. I got the white model to "match" the stove made in the 1970s which still works as good as new. Also, the french doors don't open all the way back, which leaves me ample room to open them completely in my limited space. The kitchen is only 9' x 10'. As you can see from the photos, updating the kitchen is still a work in progress. We have cabinets coming that will go above and beside the new fridge. I will add an update to this review if necessary.

So quiet that I keep opening the door to check the light making sure it is running. Home Depot delivery service was impressive. Not only on time but a few minutes early! Set it up, cleaned up and took all the trash away.

                                  I may have been too hasty. I finally called the local Home Depot manager. He couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. He immediately got the Samsung repair service scheduled for the next day. The repairmen arrived on schedule and replaced the defective icemaker. They were very professional, knowledgable and efficient. Everything is great now and we love the refrigerator!
