To ensure the best results with Rust-Oleum FlexiDip Removable Rubber Coating, we recommend applying 4 or more light coats to build desired coating thickness, followed by 1 medium coat to achieve a smooth final film. Each can has a recommended coverage of 8 square feet. Rustoleum

Once the product is actually on and dry is looks good and seems to be just as durable as similar products I have used. The problem is the spray pressure or nozzle or combination just does not work well. First can I thought maybe a bad can. Second can (different purchase) exact same thing. Low pressure appears to be clogged but its just not. This occurs just after 10 or so short passes. I have used lots of the PlastiDip and the nozzle sprays nice and no issues like this. You only find this out mid project and it is just a bummer. I am sticking with PlastiDip.

That is not what we like to hear! Our FlexiDip Removable Rubber Coating should spray evenly from start to finish. It sounds like solids may have settled to the bottom of the can, creating either a partial clog or inconsistent spray pattern. We recommend shaking the can thoroughly prior to, and frequently during use to ensure an even spray pattern. If this does not solve the issue, please give us a call at 800-481-4785, we want to try to make things right. Rustoleum

Product is very runny when applied, nothing like plasti-dip. Ruined the object I was originally trying to color. Would not recommend this to anybody, get the real stuff (plasti-dip).

If you follow the directions it's great. When you 1st spray it on it looks horrible. 10 minutes later it's perfect. It covers very well. I used it to black out all the Chrome on my car, Including the wheels. It's washable And a whole lot cheaper than buying everything black. Great product even better price

I used the Flexidip for my daughter's rims on her first car. She had standard rims on her Jeep Patriot and I wanted to dress them up without spending a lot. Worked great.

I painted the grill of my truck with the other brand of dip spray that Home Depot carries. They were out when I went to paint my trim so I got this instead. Compared to the other product that is the same price this is not good. It goes on more runny and doesn't look nearly as good. Its not a nice deep black like the other brand, it's more of a grey black and the color just doesn't pop out. Also I was only able to use half of the can because the nozzle clogged part way though and I wasn't able to unclog it even with hot water a safety pin and a paper clip. Get the other brand... Much better product.

Ouch, that was not the intention! It sounds like the nozzle was clogged. Inside each can of Rust-Oleum FlexiDip Removable Rubber Coating Spray is a dip tube that pulls the paint from the bottom of the can to the tip. If the pigment in the paint is too big or if there's not enough pressure behind it, it can get stuck in the tube or tip and the paint won't spray. Try turning the can upside down and spraying for a few seconds. If the clog is in the tip, soaking it in mineral spirits should clear it out. Also, please keep in mind that the color on our paint cans and spray paint caps is a good indicator the final finish. We hold all of our paints to a tight color standard. We recommend testing the product in an inconspicuous area first to ensure it is the finish you are looking for. Rustoleum

I used it to put a nonskid, non-reflective surface on some chrome and painted items in my van. It works well, but will peel easily. I highly recommend it. Ventilation is a must. I applied several light coats and got the coverage I needed.

      Not as expected
I bought 7 cases to cover fencing bases. I wanted a bright green for visibility and a rubber coating to protect the floor and toe stubs. First, the color is more of ogre green, rather than the bright lime. It didn't cover very well without being so close to create drips. Neither did it create the thick rubber coating I was expecting. After using and entire case on my project, I returned the remaining 6 cases I had bought.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Rust-Oleum Flexidip Removable Rubber Coating has been formulated for temporary use and is recommended to be removed after 3 months or less. For the best results, make sure to apply 4 or more light coats to build the desired coating thickness, followed by 1 medium coat to achieve a smooth, final film. Please keep in mind that the color on our paint cans and spray paint caps is a good indicator the final finish. We hold all of our paints to a tight color standard. After prepping the two pieces in question the end result was poor. The instructions were clear. I used a Rustoleum primer in several lite spray coats. When I applied the flex dip to the surface in multiple lite layers the finish was horrible. (3x's). Phil Issenberg

Something is amiss here, Phil. Keep in mind that Rust-Oleum Flexidip Removable Rubber Coating needs at least 4 light coats to build the desired coating thickness, followed by 1 medium coat to achieve a smooth, final film. We also do not recommend the use of a primer with this product. Rustoleum

Absolutely TERRIBLE. I do not understand how Rust-Oleum, a spray paint company, could not get the color black right. The black is not black at all. It's a sad excuse for a dark gray and even sadder for "Matte Black". Rust-Oleum must employ color blind people in the lab because anyone can tell this is not black, even my color blind dog. The finish, although smooth, is chalky and very poor in color. I've been using Plasti-Dip for over 4 years and I am quite familiar with applying it. The faulty color is a direct result of a poor Rust-Oleum product and has nothing to do with any of its' users. Stay away from this faux Plasti-Dip and get yourself the genuine real deal classic coke that is Plasti-Dip. Avoid FlexiDip at all costs, it's an absolute embarrassment to Rust-Oleum.

We understand your frustration! All of our products, including Rust-Oleum FlexiDip Removable Spray Paint, are held to a tight color standard and the color on the cap should be a good indication of the final color and finish. Please keep in mind that the surface condition and the number of coats applied can affect the final color. Four or more light coats should be applied to build the desired coating thickness, followed by 1 medium coat to achieve a smooth final film. Make sure to allow the coating to dry to a matte finish (about 5 minutes) between coats. Rustoleum

The product is great, but the downside is that the nozzle on the can clogs up REALLY easily. Five stars for the product, one star for the terrible nozzle, so the final rating is a three.

I bought this spray to coat my phone's plastic holster because it was way too slippery and had already dropped the phone twice. I did 5 light coats as recommended and it came out looking perfect. My holster is 2 parts, one attached to the phone and the holder. The part I coated is the one that attaches to the phone. It solved the problem and not only did it improve the grip to perfection, it now looks like new. I highly recommend this product.

It did what it supposed to do and in a nice way. I purchased this to put a coat on some of the pipes that started to rust outside of my house. After I cleaned the pipes from rust I sprayed this paint on them and I was amazed how easy it was. Just follow the instructions on the can and you will be happy like I am :)

That is not what we like to hear, Scott! It sounds like our FlexiDip Black Spray Paint may have been sputtering from the nozzle, as this product should spray a smooth even coating over a surface that can be peeled away within 90 days. We recommend shaking the can thoroughly before and during application, and also make sure that the nozzle is depressed fully to avoid sputtering. If paint builds up on the nozzle, wipe this excess away from the tip to avoid splatters on your application surface. Rustoleum
