I do a lot of DIY projects and have successfully swapped car engines, wired rooms, installed all appliances, crown moulding, flooring, repaired anything broken, etc. This rekey kit really didn't do it for me. The instructions were for multiple lock models and in multiple languages, so even figuring out what I should do with my lock was a challenge, and with many small parts and springs that can be easily damaged or lost, it is too easy to go wrong. I was working on a deadbolt following the instructions. When I turned the key, the lock cylinder slipped out and boom, springs and plugs everywhere. I tried to reinsert the loose parts, but the plastic tweezers included are mostly useless. So, in spite of being okay with my hands, two locks are ruined. The manufacturer should separate the instructions into different languages rather than combining them on one page. There should also be a WARNING to no allow the lock cylinders to remove without inserting the retaining tool. I would say that you have a chance of about 40% of getting this done successfully with this tool. Maybe your luck will be better than mine.

This product sucks do not waste your money.

It’s not easy but it has everything you need to rekey 6 locks to a single key. They only supply one key and combination so keep that in mind when purchasing. And make sure you have a clean, well lighted workspace: loose those tiny pins and you will be buying new locks.

The kit works well and directions made sense. If it’s your first time, I would suggest looking up a few youtube videos.

Was easy to do with the help of the videos on the product page. I did manage to get the springs and the drive pins out the first time, video was very helpful. Took only a few minutes for the next two locks.

Worked very well. I changed three locks successfully. But FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY so you don’t have the pins flying out!

Had all the parts I needed as well as great instructions.

Works great. I followed the video. Rekeyed 4 locks in 90 mins. A pro was going to charge $200 to $300.

Very easy, changed two locks so far. Watch the video on the home depot site.

The kit was missing one of the removal tools so I had to be creative about finding an alternative. The orange box does not carry this in stock so reordering or exchanging was not an option. Other than the missing tool, it worked as it was supposed to. Much less $$$$ than a locksmith!

Great kit to rekey your lock, easy to use, the video tutorial explains everything step by step. I changed 4 locks with the kit and have pins for 2 more

It has enough parts to rekey still need a little skills.

Kit was very easy to change out my six locks. Tweezers aren't very good, but included cheap, plastic model keeps cost down.

I was calling locksmiths to get the keys changed out and trying to get a quote. I saw this kit online, went and picked it up, and fixed it myself for $10 before the locksmith called back wanting $125 . Yippy Ki Yay.

So it's not available in my store and the nearest is 20 miles away, and you want $9 to ship it when it fits in a bubble envelope, so why are you selling it? You have lost the sale and likely others.

Not worth the trouble. Take it to a locksmith.

The end of the fill tube did not fit my tumbler very well. Was hard to remove without loosing the pins. Otherwise very nice.

Perfect for when you just want to rekey up to six door locks. A fraction of the cost that a locksmith would charge. Just go slowly and carefully.

This is way harder than you think. Just get Home Depot to rekey for you.

Easy job of re-keying three of my door locks. Everything needed is in the kit. Advise you put the pins in a plate or bowl. They are tiny and rasy to drop. I found using my own tweezers was easier than the plastic one provided. It dousnt have any spring action to drop the pin into the cylinder plug.
