Good kit and everything worked like it should. Plastic Tweezers are not so easy to use.

With this product I was successfully able to rekey the locks in my house. You will need to have a working key for the lock in order to rekey it. I did not for 1 lock so that was a problem. Prime-line has a video on YouTube which shows you how to rekey a doorknob and a deadbolt. That made it very easy. My only complaint is that the tweezer they supplied did not work well to pick up the pins. I was able to use my fingers so it wasn’t an issue. I would recommend this re-key a lock set.

This is the second time I have re-keyed a home using this kit. The components and procedure haven't changed in the 30 years since my first use. The instructions are simple and the process can be easily completed without prior experience. It's great to have one key to open my home's front door, back door and detached garage entry locks. I highly recommend this DIY re-key kit.

you really need the original key to change it to a new key. I got around it, but it was hard, and I had to reuse some of the pins from the old key

First timer. I had to pick locks before rekeying. I was able to finish the job and rekey 2 locks but with a little frusteation. Instructions were clear. I would buy again. Much cheaper than a locksmith.

I am so glad I read the reviews and two seemingly irrelevant reviews horrify me after connecting them. The first review is about the guy who bought a new kit 5 years after losing the first rekey and realized the kit is identical to his purchase 5 years ago. The second review is another guy who complained about the key pin varients are too little , makes it easy to pick . I then see the picture posted is identical to the key I purchased. The manufacturer is making a few small combination only. Meaning users out there likely share a few common keys .

Much simpler to do than I expected. The company has a YouTube video that you can follow step by step to complete this. Very happy I took the risk.

Watch video on YouTube before doing anything very helpful Take your time might need a magnifier to see the small parts and where they go. Dual cylinder deadbolts will use twice as many pins, 10 instead of the usual 5 per lock

I was able to re-key 3 of my deadbolts with this kit, they got easier and faster as I went along. But only 4 stars because the instructions weren't great.

This is a really great product if you’re moderately handy. The tweezers suck, but the pins are color coded and instructions were easy to follow

Very difficult for a Schlage lock, ended up breaking my lock. Maybe it works better for simple ones

Worked perfectly for rekeying my locks- I'd just make sure to watch youtube videos on how to rekey a lock beforehand, so you don't make any mistakes. I accidentally knocked out all the pins/springs, and had a fun time getting those back in.

Impossible to use and didn't work for the lever style locks. What ever you do, be sure to use the black tube piece to retain the springs. Once they get out its very difficult to put them back. The lever style pin carrier did not mate correctly with the black part.

Kit works great. Tweezers are trash but most folks will opt for needle nose pliers instead. It's an easy job if you watch video first and block the pin. If you screw up you add 30 min to the job, would buy again.

The only reason i did not give this 5 stars is because the plastic tweezers are useless. It would be better to tell user you need a good pair of tweezers. I would also have a tech writer review the instructions because you need some patience and handiness to get through the first lock. Besides that, this saved me at least $200 instead of replacing (6) locks or calling a locksmith to rekey.

I BOUGHT THIS TO REKEY THE DOORKNOB LOCK I HAD PURCHASED SO IT WOULD MATCH THE DEADBOLT ON THE SAME DOOR. WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW WAS THIS KIT ONLY ALLOWED YOU TO REKEY THE LOCK TO USE THE KEYS THAT WERE SUPPLIED WITH THE KIT. YOU COULDN'T REKEY IT TO MATCH A DEADBOLT ON THE SAME DOOR.

Rekeyed two entry sets and two deadbolts to the provided key(s). No issues other than the instructions are terrible. Lots of reference material on the internet so if you are patient and do a little research you'll figure it out. Saved $75 over a locksmiths rate so happy about that

It's good, but instruction might be more clearer, i.e. we have to protect the tiny springs out of our old locks which is very important when we replace with the new ones, this instruction is missing which made to call the locksmith end up in paying $80 :(

Easy to follow instructions, color coded pins, made it an easy job.

I tried to rekey a new Sclage lock and it took almost three hours. The whole problem began with the lack of pin sizes. I chose the closest one and it jammed the lock. It took me a while to get the cylinder out but in doing so, the top spring and pins fell out. Putting these back in is next to impossible. I wound up using some stainless tweezers because the plastic one in the kit are too large and doesn’t grip. So I tried again to insert the correct pins and this time I filed down the pin. It still didn’t work! I wound up taking apart the old lock and stealing its pins and then it worked! The only useful parts to me was the C clamp remover, plastic tube, and the paper clip style pin. Good luck if you use this kit.
