Love that is easy to move around and it come with everything you need. And cools the room down.

Home A/C Compressor went out and A/C Company loaned this model for our use until main unit repaired. Ran all day and night for over 20 days in Louisiana in July and kept room very comfortable. So bought this model to use when power is out. Liked front louvers, allowed to be in living room and blow into bedroom at night.

I bought the unit at the end of a hot Michigan summer for the 4th level sleeping loft of a vacation condo. The condo is air conditioned except for this upper loft. The weather cooled off considerably by the time the unit was delivered. So I haven’t had a long time to evaluate it. The unit puts out a lot of cool air. The thermostat does not seem accurate. I placed a temperature sensor in the room to check. Set the unit at 69 degrees. Room was cooled to 64. Outdoor temps were about 72-73. Also, running the unit in automatic mode does not seem to work. The unit turns off automatically before the desired temperature is reached. It is supposed to switch to fan mode when temperature is reached. If I set the unit on cooling mode, it seems to work. The important thing to me is that it does cool well. I will need to determine what temp to set it on to get the true desired temp. If I want it 70, I may need to set it higher since it seems to cool lower than set. I am happy to find a unit with a small dimension due to the very small area available for placement. I’m 63, and need reading glasses to see the tiny icons for the controls.

We are using this unit to cool our 500 sq. ft. garage to keep our pets cool during the 112-115 degree heat we are experiencing here in Arizona. I didn't think a unit this small and portable could do the job, but it can. The only setup is making sure you have an exhaust vent so the hot air has someplace to go. The unit is a bit heavy for us old folk to lift, but it is on four wheels so it is easy to move around with ease. Most important is the customer service you get from Newair. If you need help, they are there to assist you all the way. The old-fashioned customer service where they make sure you are completely satisfied. If you're lucky enough to speak with Elizabeth, consider yourself blessed. Now don't you all be asking for her or she'll never be able to get anything done - but that lady deserves a medal. :-)

When I first got this up and running, started having the dreaded short-cycling issue. Adjusting the fan louvres seemed to solve that problem. Suspect that some of the cold air was being bounced back onto a poorly placed thermostat/temp sensor, causing a false reading. Also, the owner's manual states that in auto mode the fan will keep running when the compressor cycles off. Incorrect - the fan goes off, too. When manually going from cool to fan, the noise is barely noticeable. When it all goes off at once, it's somewhat jarring. Not to mention probably inefficient. Auto mode seems a bit erratic in general, so I don't use it. However, this unit does cool fairly well, as long as actively managed and monitored. Additionally, the vent hose is better designed than my last portable. Have had it a little over a week.

I've use this AC in my home during a hot summer day to help my central AC keep the my house cool. We kept it in the livingroom and it worked perfectly and my house stayed comfortable while my central AC didn't have to work so hard. Lately, I've been using it in my office on weekends because the landlord cranks up the AC to about 83 to conserve energy. The office is 2 rooms totaling 730 SQFT and it keeps the entire place comfortable.

This little guy saved our butts during the heatwave. Managed to keep our bedroom around 86 while it was 113 outside, worth every penny

It works great cools the back part of are apartment off very nicely. We would recommend this brand to anyone. We cool the back have only on low and it very cool any higher and we would be freezing

Within minutes the squirrel cage fan started making noise. I had to return the unit and bought an LG unit off the floor at the store which is working splendidly.

This product is a giant waste of money. It was defective right out of the box. The machine will run for about 2 minutes then kick off. It does this over and over and there isn't anything I can do to fix it. Will try to get my money back. DO NOT BUY!

Generally speaking, this is a really good air conditioner. It will keep things nice and cool under normal Pacific Northwest conditions. One word of caution - it loses cooling functionality under extreme heat conditions (above 90 degrees). At that point it can only keep a room about 10 degrees cooler than it is outside, which is better than nothing. If you want it to keep a significant cooling ratio at high temperatures, this is not the unit to purchase.

The window vent kit is terrible and a real pain to install! They give absolutely no extras in their kit! Other manufacturers give you a much better quality kit including adhesive foam strips pre cut to fit your unit. Of course this one comes with nothing but the very bare necessities if that? The unit itself seems to be decent built and works well. Just know ahead of time you'll get a headache installing their window kit!
