Extend a vent is great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had our new microwave for about a month now. We ordered it on line through Home Depot due to the pandemic. They gave us an estimate of delivery and was told we would receive a phone call when the microwave was ready to be delivered. Just as promised the microwave was delivered. My husband chose to install it himself and probably took an hour or two. We had our original microwave already taken down. We did do the installation ourselves but I'm sure it would have been easier if I were a little stronger. It definitely takes two people. We love the extend a vent feature. The fan has four speeds and we see quite an improvement from just the fan itself from our old microwave. We like the look and the ease of operation. We would recommend to others.

          Functions well, installs poorly
          I enjoy it’s many fine features, especially the high output exhaust. LG does not provide a bump out bracket for the highly popular IKEA 15” deep cabinets. This obstructs door from opening fully. Beware of installing this with IKEA cabinets!

            I love my stove

              We purchased this in April 2020 and noticed the fan would stop while in use. In January 2021, F-3 short error popped up and I couldn’t use any of the keys.

                Utter failure
                I bought all 4 of my appliances in black stainless. To date every single one has had the finish peeling off. This microwave has been replaced once and worked on 4 times due to electrical issues. The led screen blips out when selecting anything. On two different ones and a replaced door. The fan still doesn't pick up and exhaust correctly the front trim broke off and had to be replaced. The latch for the vent broke so now it's just sticking out. I can't believe I wasted my money on these.

                        Top of the line microwave

It has been flawless until the extendavent panel (PUSH) on the front began sagging. It has broken inside. And the plastic is cracking in other areas. LG folks, this is difficult to replace.                             Works well but poor quality
                            I bought this three years ago because of the extendable range hood. The motor is strong enough to exhaust most cooling fumes from the front burners. However, the plastic trim piece on the front of the hood came off and cracked in the middle. I had to glue it together and reattach. And now the hood extends on its own when the microwave door closes shut due to a failing retaining latch. I’ll call LG to see if they can do anything but after three years not likely. Too bad appliances don’t last like they should.

                                I got a lemon and LG does not care.
                                I bought this microwave and within a year, the display went dim intermittently. I called in a warranty repair. The tech came out to fix it and after two visits and ordering parts twice due to a damaged part being received, it worked...for awhile. The display went dim again. At this point i decided to live with it since it was an intermittent issue and such a hassle to get it repaired. Now the display is completely dark on one side. I'm stuck with it and LG won't repair it. In addition to this issue, the extend-a-vent plastic has cracked twice since owning it. Also had it repaired under warranty.

                                    Broke!!!!

The entire control panel is burnt out red lines would appear on the clock area. Now it shows nothing at all no time nothing at ALL!!! I actually really liked the microwave but when you pay so much for one you want it to last

                                            Terrible product and worst customer service
                                            I purchased this Microwave only 16 months ago and also purchased extended warranty directly from LG within the first year. Like other people have reported, the extended Vent tray on my microwave cracked because of the heat/poor quality. I called LG premium plan number for extended warranty and they told me that they are not LG and this issue is not covered and I need to contact LG. The extended support was purchased from LG, but its a third party who handles the extended warranty. They will not cover it saying that its a "cosmetic issue". I contacted LG and had a worst customer service experience. After multiple emails and phone calls they opened a ticket and keep assigning ticket to different companies who service LG products. Have spent 2 months talking to LG and different companies and was finally told that the ticket LG opened will not cover repair. Very disappointed by LG product and customer service, will not purchase any LG product again

                                                  I had this microwave for 14 months and it broke just after the 12 month warranty was over. First of all the popcorn setting wasn't correct and it always burned the popcorn so we had to watch it. Pathetic. Now I have to pay someone to come and uninstall the microwave so it can be fixed. Its only the heating unit as all the electronics still function. I had my previous GE over the range microwave for 12 years and only replaced it because we renovated the kitchen and changed color scheme. I rue the day I chose this LG microwave.

                                                    Almost great.
                                                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this appliance for roughly five weeks now. Installed it myself with a helper to lift. No problems with installation other than the totally unnecessary protrusion on the left side of the vent filter cover interfering with my cabinet doors. The protrusion is unnecessary, and sticks up higher than the microwave or the door. I'm just squeaking by now, but those two cabinet doors had to be moved up to the limit, and misaligned with the rest of cabinets on this wall. I dearly miss the timer and end of cooking chime continuing to sound until either the door is open or the cancel button pressed. Yeah, I keep finding those half full cups of coffee that got forgotten, it's a nuisance. The Extendavent works better than the standard vent, but it's far from capturing all that's coming from the stove. My biggest gripe as to the performance, is that the meat defrost cycle is too aggressive. Defrosting by weight will get you cooked ends on the meat. The door latch has a plastiky, scraping sound to it. It's unpleasant to the point that I checked other units in the store to make sure mine was OK. All make the ugly scraping sound. Other than the above, the oven appears to work fine.

                                                          Leaks Greasy Air - Poor Design
                                                          I have this microwave installed to vent through the top to the outside (default factory configuration). I have used a 6" diameter vent no longer than 2 feet. My issue with this microwave is that there is internal air leakage and air is still coming out the recirculation exit and greasy oil is dripping from the vents next to the charcoal filter. Although the outside can be cleaned, the inside can not be cleaned without taking the microwave apart; this means that internally it is an oily mess and it is starting to smell. I have done all the regular maintenance (Cleaning/Replacing filters), and have had enough. The oven is going in the trash and will be replaced with a regular range hood.
