Product only lasted 5 months over 2 years being in the Northeast the unit only ran about 5 days a month during summer months , unit lasted thru the 3 months for 2018 and the months of June and July during 2019 before it stopped cooling this product was a major disappointment, will not buy any LG product again.

    After 3 years of summer use, I can say - - Live in dry area so don't use the 'dry' mode or ever had any water issues. - Life Saver, a good buy at HD with no discount, compared all products everywhere, read reviews, dcb levels, specs, features before purchasing. - Simple to set up. - Love the remote! Permanently located in my 230 sf kitchen (TV, conversations, baking, cooking and simmering for hours, etc), running afternoons into just after dinner time and after sun goes down every day. I have a HD Quiet Cool Whole House fan that is beyond awesome and when the cool night air is gone by afternoon, my LG a/c unit SAVES THE DAY. NOW FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS I WISH I HAD ON THIS PRODUCT. - Better dcb level because even on 'low' rather LOUD. One of the lowest dcb for money out there though. - This one's a biggie - An oscillating louver in front (left to right, up or down, whatever). Manual has a lever on front, yet none of the pics on this website show one and neither does my unit for left to right setting. Only up and down YOU set and does not change. Handy a bit because when the louvers are in the up position, I can put my ceiling fan on and stir the temps around, but then running TWO electrical costs. Buy it, you'll love it, and kick yourself for not doing sooner.

      we bought one of these a few years ago to cool a bedroom on really hot days. we've used it maybe 20 times. it's compressor has stopped working. the company refuses to stand behind its over-priced piece of junk. if you think $20 per use is a good deal, by all means, buy this piece of trash.

          I bought this product in 2017 and used it for summer '17 and '18. Worked fine at cooling the space, albeit a little loud, but when I turned it on in summer '19 it would not cool. Learned from the repairman that it had a freon leak and would cost more to repair than to replace the entire unit. An air conditioner that leaks freon after roughly 8 months of use is not a good product.

              Worked well for the 4 to 5 times we used it. Power outages, hurricanes, etc. But after 5 years of occasional use it stopped cooling.

                I bought the air conditioner in late April 2016 trying to beat the rush in the summer months for an air conditioner. This is the very first air conditioner I have ever bought. It is a practical improvement to my quality of life in the late spring/summer. The bedroom it is in with the closet is about 200 sq. ft. I can get that space close to 20 degrees cooler than outside if I keep the door closed. I have used it on many 90 and about 4 100 degree days. At times, I have left it on all night long, sharing the cool with about 1,600 sq. ft. total. It has been run before for 72 hours straight non stop. You will notice the noise, perhaps I am weird but I can easily fall asleep with it on 10 feet from my bed. The house has another regular air conditioner but that is close to the main TV, so this one, where it is, is far less of a bother to TV viewing. From the outside you only see the gray spacer and the vent, on a window facing the street. It doesn't need plywood and it doesn't put much weight on the frame of the window. It has felt really good when I have awoken hot to reach for the remote, turn it on and, set the remote down. I wish I had found out sooner the temperature can be turned down to 62 degrees. That is what I set it at. I also didn't know right away that there are two screens to clean.

                  I got it for my dorm with no ac, in the first week it worked great! cooled the room down by 20*F, and it dehumidified, and I only emptied the water twice in the first week. (Thats managable for me). Last night, it said the water was full, I got up to empty it and there was water ALL OVER THE FLOOR. I mean the floors were soaked. AND THEN after cleaning up all the water and emptying the tray, it again needed emptied at 4am and then 5:30am and then 7am and then 9am. :) I got no sleep. hate it.

                    My Air Conditioning contractor loaned me this unit that he uses in his shop while our main AC is being replaced. We live in a dry climate (low humidity) and experience triple digit heat occasionally. This model kept my living room, dining room and even my kitchen area comfortable even when it was 105 degrees outside. I also wrapped 'reflectix' around the vent hose (as seen in picture) that really helped to stop radiating heat escaping from the vent hose. My temp gun shows actual cooled air coming from the unit when the compressor kicks on at 42 degrees. My last experience with a portable AC unit was years ago and it performed so poorly I actually gave it away despite paying almost $700 for it. The LG works well and has a one year parts and labor warranty. The unit uses about 1200 watts (around 9.7 amps with the compressor kicked in). I also keep the doors to my other rooms closed and placed inexpensive( and easily removed, no tape) owens-corning foam board insulation cut to fit my window frame sills during very warm days to further insulate during extreme hot days. Remember, this is not a replacement for your 220 volt, 5 ton HVAC main unit that cools your entire house. For the price I consider it a bargain and would buy it again if needed.

                        2 seasons of occasional use on weekends and this unit is now dead. Compressor wont come on so its totally useless. LG customer service could care less about helping us and provided no help on a 2 yr old product. Their service center told me to throw it away because its cheaper to just spend another $350 for a new one than fix it. The thing is like new and its going to the dump. What a piece of crap product from a low end company (LG). No way im buying anything from LG again. Dont buy any of these without an extended warranty.

                                NO it did not. The window plate keeps falling...
                                NO it did not. The window plate keeps falling in. I spent an hour on the phone with LG which the directions said to do before returning to Home Depot. They were supposed to send me additional adhesive foam, to receive within 3-5 days. I am still waiting. The window panel is thick on one side and about 1/4 inch on the side where the vent hose goes in, therefore the weight of the hose pulls the panel into the house. In addition, the fan is supposed to have two speeds, there is no difference in output between the "low" and "high". If I do not receive the adhesive foam by Monday I will be returning the unit. Very disappointed in product and cheap construction of the window panel.

                                It cooled the room fine but it shut off three times during the night because of excessive humidity pulled out of the air. The drain opening is in a very awkward place, could not get anything low enough to drain it into without pouring water all over the floor, just a mess. We had another in the same room before that never shut off, it evaporated. We are going to have to use a condensate pump with it just for it to be useful.

                                This air conditioner has a Self-evaporative system that recycles the condensing water to cool the condenser. If you live in an environment that has low humidity, you might not have to empty the internal water collection tank. However, if your in a high humidity environment, when the internal water collection tank gets full, the LED display will show 'E5' and the air conditioner will turn off until it is emptied and you will need to restart the unit after emptying the tank.
