GE Adors Diswaher Slate Finish
I am in the middle of a kitchen update and was planning on buying new appliances and my 12 year old Kenmore decided to stop working; which pushed the purchase a head of schedule.. I had originally wanted stainless but was hesitant because I do not like any additional upkeep as I regularly work 12-14hrs days. I love how this and the matching appliances look and are easy to keep clean. The interior space is excellent. We are a household of 2 and we run out of dishes before space, LOL. I had learn how to load this dishwasher after living w/ the old Kenmore and I am amazed at how much we can load in this DW . I like the fact the upper rack is height adjustable and I can place a large mixing bowl in the upper rack and still have room for glasses, cups and small plates. I also like the upper silverware holder as this makes loading & unloading easier. Another feature I like is that the steam prewash. We're(me) not that good at rinsing plates before loading and some plates set 2 days before they are washed. I also like the choices of water temp's normal, boost & sani. Overall I am very happy w/ my purchase & would recommend. Only negative is that the cycles do seem a bit long when you select wash options. Also I don't know why some reviewers complained of wet dishes without the heated dry. Of course there will be some water but on the top of cups & glasses and I would say that dishes are 98% dry after washing. They are not dripping wet as some reviewers would have you believe. However a rinse aid is needed to accomplish this. Overall a very good DW!

Very quiet and does a great job cleaning.
The dishwasher was installed by one of your professionals. It looks great. Extremely quiet. Cleans the dishes much better than my old one.

    GE ADORA TOP CONTROL DISHWASHER
Great product. Went with the GE top control stainless steel drum in slate finish. So quiet I can't even hear it running. Product finish is great, the slate doesn't show finger prints. Our Marriage is already better.

    Nice dishwasher - Quiet!
I am very happy with this dishwasher - I would buy it again. It seems to clean well, fits lots of dishes-including stemware- and is exceptionally quiet.

    Met our requirements...
This is a great dishwasher if you value quietness, a nice look, and leaving the dishes very clean. We love the silverware holders that separate the silverware so they all get completely clean. A few issues we are ok with (you may not be) - if you have any bowls loaded in the front of the bottom rack, it blocks the water from hitting the soap and the soap does not disperse, so we have had to re-arrange and re-run two loads. The racks are pretty cheap plastic so we are concerned about how long they will last. Also, make sure to carefully follow all the instructions if you are installing yourself - I think it took us about 3 hours...

    it is lemon
Received it and it looks good, but after all cycles finished , everything was terribly wet inside. It did not dry at all. Tried few times and different options, but nothing helped. I came to Home Depot in Fremont, CA and they have very good customer service and replaced it in few days. I cannot say that I like new one because walls were still wet after end off all cycles, but i decided to keep it because dishes were dry. Just yesterday, I decided to try new features: load just lower half and wash. Result: half of detergent was still in, dishes dirty. One more thing that I don't like is cycles time. It takes 3 to 4 hours for the cycle; depends what cycle you choose.

Response from GE AnswersDec 9, 2013
Hi Fremontcustomer-this is Sue from GE. We are sorry to hear you are not completely satisfied with your new dishwasher and glad to help. We recommend using a rinse agent such as JetDry or LemiShine for best results. Rinse agent breaks down the surface tension of water, improving water drainage from dishes. Thus improves drying performance as well as reduces water spotting and streaking. Proper water temperature is essential to achieve optimum results. The hot water heater should be set to deliver at least 120 degree Fahrenheit water to the dishwasher. To check the water temperature, run the hot water at the kitchen sink and measure the temperature of the running water with a candy or meat thermometer. Adjust the temperature of the water heater accordingly. Run the hot water faucet at the kitchen sink prior to operating the dishwasher to purge out the cold water. Be sure to choose the Steam, Wash Temp Boost and Heated Dry options. If detergent remained in the cup, since the silverware basket can be positioned on the front of the basket, make sure not to load large or tall utensils where they may block the detergent dispenser or spray arm. We hope this is helpful. If you need additional assistance, for your convenience, you can schedule a service appointment under your warranty with GE Consumer Service at: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/service/GE_Appliances

      Does it's job
Nice dishwasher, but lacks some of the finishing touches that differentiate the competition. Needs heavier sound insulation, a covered drying element, and an integrated drip pan (more like a drip tub that covers the entire bottom). Cycles seem to run excessively long, so I question what settings produced the efficiency numbers. Cleans dishes well, but the silverware drawers take a considerable amount of space away from the dish racks. Very easy to install. You can definitely see the difference between a $600 dishwasher and a $1000+ dishwasher. Hopefully this will run longer than my last $1000+ dishwasher (~5 years).

      I'm Impressed so far
I've had the dishwasher only 2 weeks now... I bought it at a "special buy" price so there was quite a savings... it is so quiet you truly don't know it's running... every once in a while you hear "something" then you realize it's the dishwasher... it gets the dishes clean and dry (as long as you remember to use the "heated dry" option :-) ... I love that you can wash just the top rack if you want to... it's tall enough to accommodate all my tall items without getting in the way of the top spray arm. As a trade off for that, the door opens "way down to the floor" so you have to bend over quite far to lift the door (thus allowing my little doggie to get into things...) that is the only "complaint" I have if you can call it that...
