A:  Hi CapeWendy- This is Sue at GE Appliances. If there are no load large items in the lower rack blocking the wash jets from rinsing out the detergent dispenser, check to ensure the entering water is at least 120°F. Also, choose the Wash Temp option to increases the temperature for optimum cleaning. A:  Hi frustrated-this is Sue from GE Appliances. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. To cancel the Delay Start option, press the "Delay Start" pad until the hours of delay indicator goes off. If this does not cancel the cycle, you may want to reset the electronics by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. For further assistance, we encourage you to contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737. Thanks for reaching out to us!

A:  I gave up on the pods. The were not very efficient. We now use the Cascade liquid and have had no issues.

Q:The dishwasher drains in spurts. Is this normal.

              Answer This Question

A:  Hi Clover 7313, I am happy to help. It is normal to hear it pause during the cycle briefly. The wash pump will cycle on and send water to the lower spray arm. The motor will run, stop for 1 second, restart, stop and pause for 5 - 8 seconds, restart and then repeat this pattern throughout the cycle. The motor run time will vary depending on the wash cycle selected. During the wash cycle the wash pump alternates which spray arm to supply with water. Water is supplied to the lower spray arm, then the wash pump stops and starts again, this time sending water to the mid and upper spray arms. The lower, mid and upper spray arms do not use water at the same time. This helps maintain good water pressure throughout the cycle. Thank you for checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.

A:  Yes this is normal for the drain pump to cycle on and off. It's part of the filter cleaning process. The stopping and starting of the drain motor helps create turbulence around the filter and clear it up of food soils.

A:  I had the same problem with my Adora dishwasher. Poor engineering on GE's part. Most other brands use metals latches, but GE uses a plastic latch.
