No instructions on how to operate
There was no instructions on how to operate. There needs to be better communications from GE. Had no problem with Home Depot, but it would be nice to know how to use it. What kind of detergent, how much detergent, etc. No instructions. Thank you. It appears to be a good unit. It is quiet unit and can barely hear it running.

Not Real Happy
I just wish these major companies would quit trying to be so politically correct and save water. The reason the dishes are not getting clean is because it hardly uses any water. It starts with so little water I don't know why they think the dishes will get clean. Very old dishwashers just blasted out tons of water with a lot of power and water. I listened to the cycle and it sounds like it mists the dishes with water and then waits along time to let it soften food. At least that is my interpretation. This might be a good concept but after the food is softened it needs water to rinse and there is not near enough. That is why the machine is so quit, there is no water spraying. There should be a higher volume water setting to use more water. The water is not wasted it all goes somewhere to end up being reused! I feel like I paid a premium price for this dishwasher and feel like I have to look over every dish inside and out to see if they got clean. I cannot trust it and if I continue using it will have to basically wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher! Can somebody please make a dishwasher that you can trust to get the dishes clean. It should not have to take 3 hours to clean the dishes- ARE YOU KIDDING ME! they do it in restaurants in about a 4 minute cycle?? Get some real family users in to test your products because obviously your not very good at it.

Should have read the reviews first
Consider yourself lucky to have read these reviews and do not purchased this machine, we have had this machine for 6 months and we are replacing it. Total waste of money. Issues: -does not clean dishes !!!! -soap dispenser will not open during cycle (we have to leave it open) -cannot use bottom silverware tray, due to poor design- the water is blocked from getting to the soap dispenser It is quiet, looks nice and has a timer delay which is nice, but if it doesn't clean dishes- it is pretty worthless. Wish I would have read these prior to this expensive purchase.

    Bad design
After a year of unsatisfactory results, service calls, part replacements, Tuesday a new dishwasher was installed and the installer admitted he had the door of his dishwasher replaced 3 times. Obviously you have a poor design. We bought a new dryer at the same time. It also had to be replaced after several service calls. We will never buy another GE appliance.

      Not SO Good!!
Had it delivered on July 31. Ran an upper cycle - dishes not clean. Ran an upper/lower cycle dishes still not clean. Realized water not going into dishwasher. Scheduled maintenance call to find out bad dishwasher- need to order new one. Finally on Aug 15 I was able to use a dishwasher again. Quiet. Works ok. My eating utensils do not fit in slots of basket inside dishwasher. Have soap build up on bottom of dishwasher near door after cycle completed. Bring back my old KitchenAid dishwasher!!

Hello ama - this is Nancy at GE Appliances. I'm sorry to hear that your dishwasher is not cleaning well for you. Please make certain that your water is entering the dishwasher at 120 degrees F and that you have selected the "Wash Temp Boost" option. If you have soap at the end of the cycle, please try using less detergent and a longer wash cycle. I hope this helps! Thanks for providing your feedback and for choosing GE! GE_Appliances

Great looks, quietest dishwasher ever, but...
What a great looking unit. THE quietest dishwasher ever! 2 months into my purchase, and I am concerned about the pressure it takes to close the door. It takes a good amount of force. Don't know if its a defect or related to the quietness of the unit. Time will tell. Don't really like the front mount utensil holder, seems like the flatware does not get clean unless you put the sharp ends of the knives facing up. It seems to work OK when I load facing up, but it really isn't safe loading that way!

        quiet and attractive
I just got this last month- one of the things I appreciate is how quiet it is! plenty of room, and looks pretty sharp. Think its a little weak in cleaning extra gunky items, so, some prewash is needed or heavy setting, my only real complaint.

            Excellent Dishwasher
This is a great dishwasher. All the people complaining about it not drying the dishes--if you use the heated dry it DOES dry them. Of course, if you have a deep depression in a cup or dish, there may be some moisture. but the heated dry WORKS! The non-heated dry is just that....air dry. It even says to open the door to assist in drying. So, read the manual. The dishwasher is SO quiet, has great features, and is beautiful in the slate color. Yes, it takes a long time for the cycles to complete, but I don't see why that is an issue if you are wanting to let the appliance do the work of cleaning the dishes. My husband is very handy and always installs our appliances. He said this was more difficult that some to install, so his experience was very helpful in getting it installed. If you aren't handy, have someone else install it. This is my second Adora purchase. I really like the quality, My slate French-door refrigerator is 2 years old and works flawlessly. I highly recommend the ADORA line.

Look past this one. Total lemon.
How HARD is it to manufacture a dishwasher with a door that secures? The door latch failed after 3 months AND now I'm obviously very worried about the overall quality. GE should try testing their products BEFORE selling them to consumers. Please buy from a different manufacturer.

              Excellent Dish washer
This dishwasher does not have all of the bells and whistles but it certainly was an upgrade for us. The racks do not move up or down as much as more expensive models or offer fold down spindles but it still was a great value.

              would not buy again
checked the dishwasher over for dents, etc when it was delivered but didn't think about checking anything else. First time we ran it we discovered that the door wouldn't shut all the way. Called Home Depot and they said call the manufacturer. I only ran it once and I'm not satisfied. I didn't call the repair guy I called Home Depot and returned the dishwasher. Replaced it with a Maytag.

Looks great and cleans great. It is very quiet too. My only compliant is the length of time it takes to complete the cycle.

Disappointed in this dishwasher, should have read reviews
detergent dispenser does not open. You have to set on the hottest cycle to clean dishes, but you have water left on dishes, doesn't dry. Very disappointed .

Hello Yogi - this is Nancy at GE. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed in your new GE dishwasher. This is not the outcome we would expect to hear and we apologize for your inconvenience. First, when loading the dishwasher, please make certain nothing is blocking the detergent cup. Further, if your dishes are not drying well, please check that the rinse agent dispenser is not empty. I hope this helps! Thanks for providing your valuable feedback! GE_Appliances

                  Follow Up Review
This is follow up of my first review. When I 1st purchased I loved my new DW. Now I'm disappointed in the quality. After 11 months the latch needed to be replaced. Now 5 months later the latch needs to be replace again! Not at all happy about this. The DW cleans well. Not sure why so many people say this machine does not clean dishes. Yes the cycles are long but I run before going to bed. Yes it's that quiet. So the DW is mixed bag. I replaced all my appliances w/ slate finish which is so much easier to maintain the stainless steel. And the look of the appliances are excellent. I've had no other problems w/ the other appliances (range, over the range MW, & French door frig). I hope GE fixes these issues. I'm thinking of replacing it w/ the another version of this DW which has recvd better reviews.

                  Great Washer
This dishwasher is amazingly quite, if fact the fridge makes more noise than dishwasher. Dishes come out clean. Slate finish is super easy to keep clean even with two kids and dog.

                  Do Not Purchase!!!!
Do not purchase this!! My wife and I purchased this to match with a Range and Microwave without having reviewed the dishwasher much prior to purchase. Big mistake. The first one was delivered with a dent in the front. This was replaced and the replacement unit had problems from the start. Every cycle had to be done twice because both the dishes were not clean and soap was leaked throughout the machine. Per Home Depot's policy, we were advised to contact the manufacturer for repair. Our first appt. we made special arrangements to be home for the 1-5pm time range to which at 5pm and no service arrived, we called to be advised there was no appt. scheduled. Our confirmation number for the appt. apparently was non existent. After multiple calls, we were able to schedule another service appt. Arrived and advised us that the problem was simply that the silverware racks were not where they should be. The one on the top, should be on the bottom. Ironically enough, the pictures on this website, show the racks how we had them placed. We reversed them per the service mans suggestion, no change. Piece of garbage. Now we are fighting with Home Depot to get rid of it. Were advised if we are "permitted" to get rid of it, we will still need to pay 15% restocking fee. May be worth it to do this. Can't advise enough, do not buy this piece of garbage.

                      as expected
The dishwasher works as expected. The top rack is a little small because of the extra silverware rack, but we adjusted to it quickly. It is very quiet. We only hear when the water drains into the garbage disposer. I took off a star because of the installation problems. Only in the call the day before did Home Depot inform us that the water connection has to be a 3/8" screw on fitting. We had copper tubing run under the dishwasher that was soldered into the valve. I understand why the installer wouldn't want to move it (I nearly cracked the tubing moving it just a little). I ended up cancelling the installation (still waiting for a refund of the part of the installation fee) and doing it myself. The copper tubing had the wrong size fitting so I called a plumber to install a new shut off valve to hook the water hose to that came with the installation kit. The rest of the installation was not bad except trying to adjust the back feet. They were nearly impossible to reach. I ended up putting a shim under them because I couldn't get a wrench back under there to turn them. Perhaps the installers have a better tool.

                      Sad, Disappointed
Broke 4 times the first year. In December 2013 We updated our kitchen with GE Adora Appliances, we loved the slate color. It was exciting. My dishwasher has been serviced 4 times the first year. And two of the service calls they had to order parts, so dishwasher was unusable. Dec 15 2014 our One Year Warranty expired and a month later our dishwasher needs serviced again. Our older set was GE and we had it for 12 years .So we went with GE Again. What a mistake. The refrigerator I love, the double oven I love but the ceramic top does not clean, GE finally said try ammonia. Over the range microwave you have to run the fan when you cook or the microwave door fogs up. GE informed me the fan must run for a few minutes after I am done cooking. What a joke. What really is negative is my husband bought me new appliance Dec 2013, as they were delivering my daughter and I left for the holiday to visit family for two weeks. By the time I realized the microwave issue, stove top that I found out is not ceramic but glass, and my dishwasher broke down 30 days had passed and I could not return these appliances. I even requested if I pay more and could upgrade to better quality being we had just purchased, but they said no, not after 30 days.

                        Verdict still out
I've been using for about a month now, not all that happy. Seems I have to clean the dishes almost spotless before putting them in. Doesn't always dry all the water off dishes. Have to run hot water before starting to ensure water temp is up. Have tried using gel and not the pods. It's a challenge! Still trying different settings to get it "right"

                          now sure how i feel...
I had it installed on 12/23 which went well enough...although the installers did not let a whole cycle run before departing...which makes me think that its not a good idea. Unfortunately it didn't drain...which turned out to be no fault of the dishwasher/install. We had an issue that snaking seemed to have solved. But...while making the test run before re-installing we discovered the dishwasher had a small leak from the housing...down low. Nothing that a select a size paper towel couldnt absorb but...if we hadn't had the draining issue...how long would it have taken to discover this fact. I think you should ask for this model to be run at least one cycle before totally installed...just sayin. Hoping my 1/20 appt. will not result in another 3 weeks for replacement

                            Adora dishwasher
So far, so good. First two loads run with the supplied detergent packets came out excellent. Third load run with owner-supplied Cascade liquid d/w detergent came out terrible--silverware not clean, some dishes on bottom not clean, d/w detergent still in door and tub. The fine print explains detergent quantity for hardness of water and don't put large objects between the detergent dispenser and the wash jets. Haven't done a fourth yet. Nice features include the silverware baskets with covers and the wine glass holders. Top controls are nice and can be accessed by pulling open the d/w. Many options. Good looking dishwasher in the slate finish. Had trouble with install: installers damaged the inside of the cabinetry and installed the unit off-center so that the door must be pulled into alignment in order to lock. Installers also damaged or destroyed the product manual, warranty card, and other materials that come with the dishwasher.

                            Worst Dishwasher
We have had this dishwasher for a few years and would have replaced it right away if we could have afforded to. Door does not close well, rollers pop off constantly, pauses for no reason, and does not clean very well. Top it off with being pretty loud and this is the worst one we have owned. Due to this and other GE issues we have had we will never touch another ge product.

GE seriously needs to get their act together!
I originally bought this dishwasher in the summer 2014 and by early November 2014 it already was completely broken and leaking water all over my hardwood kitchen floors. GE has horrible customer service and it took well over a month and 4 days of missed work to get the new one. Wish I could have just returned it and gone with a different brand. Completely disgusted with the product and company. DO NOT BUY
