The smoker was very easy to assemble... it came damaged but customer service worked with me... the damage was a huge dent in the back.... not HD fault but that of the deliver. The smoker maintains heat on a good day due to the lack of thickness and insulation try to minimize smoking on a cold day.... Very roomy and directs smoke well. Just wish had more control over the chimney.... fire box is a fair size but needs constant maintenance if your smoking for more than 6 hrs.... easy to CLEAN... FYI: this smoker is only as good as the experience of the person using it....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first smoker and it’s been a fun time. Took a while to master keeping the heat up and smoke clean but it’s worth the time to learn. Only draw back is the clamps to hold the door Shut fall off to easy and hard to find a replacement.

I have to say owned a lot of smokers.. But this Dyna Glo is the Best ever!! Everyone should get one..

Bought one 2 years ago and it is a good smoker for the price. Metal is thin and one major flaw is Dyna Glo put the same size fire box on the wide body as the one on the standard size vertical and it is simply not large enough to accommodate the wide body. I have since modified mine, I put on a 20"×20"×14" fire box made of 1/4" steel and used adhesive heat shield and bolted and welded 1/8" steel on the smoker body and put it on a cart with wheels. I can now go 8-10 hrs without having to reload charcoal/wood where before it was 2-3 hrs.

This was easy to put together and we used it for the first time this past weekend. It worked great. I would note that juices did leak from the bottom as we cooked, so you may want to keep the unit on a surface where this won't be an issue. We're considering getting a temperature resistant sealant for the bottom seams to avoid this in the future.

I love this smoker!!!Assembled without any mods for tightness.Seasoned and smoked twice with no noticeable leaks and delicious food.Put a flashlight in and no light showed through

Though indirect heat, beware meat cooking near the opening! It can burn your ribs. Did chicken yesterday and put them as far away as possible, but, the bird closest to the heat was over done. Temperature control in the unit is pretty easy to maintain. May try to close opening a bit more to keep coals away.

So, I got an early Birthday present in this smoker. I have been looking at this for a while now and decided now is the time. After a slight SNAFU got it delivered and got to season it real good. The only problem I have or have seen so far is a little leak out the back and around the temp guage. Other than that, it is working our real good, smoked some chops on it and BAMM... Hope I can post some pics from an up coming event. Great product and great job HD. Continue to march.

Easy to assemble. Smokes great, even heat. Going to put casters on it so it is easy to move.

Got the product home and all the screws were missing. Plus, the chimney was broken and the back of the box was scratched. There were missing screws and nuts from the smoke box, which had already been assembled. It is a nightmare trying to deal with the return. It would have probably been a great smoker if everything was there.

This is the true definition of smoking meat the legit way not one to knock nothing down but this puts Traeger the outdoor oven to sleep!

While this works wonderful as a smoker the only drawback this far is no spot to char grill ,sear Meats before

Overall this is a great product and does its job well. The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is the hokey ash pan and grate assembly in the firebox. The grate barely fits over the top of the ash pan. If the grate gets bumped or jostled the least little bit (ie adding more charcoal) the grate falls into the pan on an angle. Although it does still work even in that configuration. I plan on modifying mine to make it more stable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased this and love the concept and the smoking capacity but I can't seem to get the temp above 190-200, outside the recommended smoking temp on it's thermometer. I've tried just briquettes, briquettes and lump charcoal mix and just lump charcoal. I have loaded it with the 5lb recommendation and even tried more, with the same result. I also have the much smaller Dyna-Glo compact charcoal smoker and can obtain any temp I would like with it. At this point I can't recommend this item

Shipped fine, there were no obvious signs of damage to the packaging. One small bend (did not effect function) and one failed weld (non-critical), but hey... it's not an expensive unit. Nothing required rework & it performs as expected. Plan to level this unit if you want the grease collection system to work right. My location was 1/4" off the length of the unit & drippings leaked out the corner of the door onto the pavement. Leveled and no further issues. All parts were there, everything installed as described. Works great with charcoal, if you use wood you'll need to burn it down to coals & transfer to the coal basket to get the unit loaded up properly. Holds heat surprisingly well once you get accustomed to the carburation system. Brisket, Ribs, Char Siu all cooked up great & it holds a lot of food. Wish the rib rack had taller humps, and I bought some S hooks to use the sausage hooks for the char siu, you'll want to get some if you do any kind of hanging BBQ. All in all it's a great smoker for the money.

Exceeds expectations. After seasoning, all seals seem to hold great. Very low maintaince for a charcoal smoker. Love it!

So far it is working great! I’ve already smoked some ribs and a beer can chicken!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a DynaGlo Wide Body Offset last year to get back in to smoking after a years-long break. Setup was about 45 minutes by myself and a screwdriver. Since then, I have gotten in to competition cooking and bought two more of these smokers and they work great! Set up on the last two, with two people and a power screwdriver was ~15 minutes each. My only complaint about this smoker is that it really, really needs a baffle of some sort. Other than that they are well worth the money!

Great smoker.....no leaks but it does burn charcoal faster than expected. I would buy again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wide body smoker is amazing, I've had it for 3 weeks and I've smoked 5 briskets, 3 pork bellies, 6 whole chickens and at least 15 racks of beef and pork ribs! I am totally in love. I would love that $200 so I could buy more meat to smoke! Smoking like a train! Next stop...the meat market!

There was a manufacturer defect. Dyna-Glo is fixing the issue.

Good product. Mine had a slight tear at one of the angles that I repaired (too much of a hassle to send it back). First few smokes went well with the exception of the temperature gauge. The gauge was off by 60 degrees which was quite disappointing. Decent smoker with some cheap parts. 3.5 stars.
