Bought this in-store because I had seen tungsten carbide could work on a broken tap. Despite the spear point, the cutting edges on the top would not catch on the tap (neither bit nor tap affected). Seems like it would work on much softer materials.

OK, these are a bit pricy, but they do get the job done.

I broke a bolt extractor 1/8" deep inside a hole. Then, I tried to weld a nut on top of that to remove the extractor and that broke. This ate through the mild steel weld easily. Then it ate up the 8mm, 1/2" long piece of extractor in about 45 min. hard-to-reach location and I to stop frequently to check with a mirror.

I must say, there is no competition when it comes to the tungsten carbide cutter. Hands down best on market!

Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. I am a newer user of Dremel carving and have been enjoying my creations while learning. After receiving this bit, I decided to try carving on stone. Something that I had seen in videos but had never tried. I had a Geode that I had picked up in Keokuk Iowa that was my medium. The bit was impressive from the first touch to the stone. I was able to clear out some of the crystals that had been damaged when the stone was broken and I was able to flatten out a portion of the top and carve the date and where it was found. I would recommend this bit to anyone serious about cutting on hard surfaces.

I rebuild carberators and used in to properly remove butterfly plate screws.If you do not grind the nubs of the screws they will break when you turn them out.That way I can use the originals

This bit also good for working with tile, metal and wood for doors, bathroom fixtures and sheetrock installs.

Actually needed a larger diameter bit, but was out of stock. However, with some patience, the bit worked fine. Cutting 42 6" circles in 15/32 plywood for recessed lighting in garage.

Every Dremmel product I own is high quality.

This did exactly what I needed it to do which was cut a shape in a steel flat bar. It saved me hours of cutting that I would have otherwise had to do with a hacksaw, vice grip, and several other tools not quite right for the job.

Thsi cutter did what I wanted to do. It is better to run it at a slower speed to keep from burning and dulling the tool
