I had to cut some new deck boards to fit around post. my older skill jig saw was terrible compared to the Bosch. I gave my Skil Jig Saw to charity to get rid of it. I was amazed at how much better the Bosch jig saw was !!!

I purchased this, specifically to do crown molding. I purchased a coping foot by Collins Tool Company so I could back-cut my cope cuts. I standard coping saw works, however this works faster. I still find myself using a razor blade to clean up the cuts, but it has sped up my time considerably.

Knew Bosch's well earned reputation for quality and that is the first thing that led me to their jigsaws. The barrel-grip I was uncertain about. It seemed like an excellent design for control and comfort but I had no experience with it. First time I used it I was truly impressed with the ease and precision of control it has. The natural way you hold the saw and the power it has made every cut accurate and almost effortless. This is a tool I will use often and count on for many years I can tell.

Great saw for the money. This was my first jigsaw purchase in 28 years. Like most woodworkers, I don't use a jigsaw every day, but when I do use it, I want power and maneuverability. This one has both. I bought the saw without seeing or testing it, so when it came I was surprised to see that it is a good bit larger and heavier than I expected. The size and weight were easy to get used to, and now I really like the saw, and would highly recommend it.

I'm a finish carpenter and needed a barrel grip jig saw to mount a my "coping foot tool" for cutting crowns. The Bosch JS470EB was the recommended jig saw for the Collins Coping Foot. The barrel grip allows you to hold the jig saw upside down with the coping foot and there is no variable speed trigger switch. You want to run it at full speed when doing coping cuts. The blade guide is steady and easy to control. Highly recommend the Bosch Jig Saw.

Blade seems to move sideways a lot more that my old one. Makes it hard to cut square to stock. .Don't like the blade guard, too hard to see cut line.

74 years old, been in construction my whole life. Got sick of my cheap jigsaw. Wanted a 'good' jigsaw. For the money, this one is a fabulous deal. You can buy junk for a little less, or buy the best. Now I look for reasons to pull it out of the case. I love it... And a solid 10' cord to boot!

It cuts thru 2" lumber like a hot knife in butter its a great heavy duty saw little big and heavy for the light stuff the only thing i dont like is the blower is'nt clearing the line off the cut?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I switched over to a barrel-grip style jig saw after seeing this jig saw in a YouTube video. I'm so glad I did. This jig saw has a great feel to it and the barrel-grip gives you much better visibility into your cuts and the way the jig saw feels while cutting gives you better feedback for a better cut overall.

This thing is a beast. It powers through 2 inch lumber so fast I have to slow down and not push the saw. It is a bit heavy but that's to be expected considering how powerful it is.

Performs very well exactly what I wanted. The only drawback is the grip gets uncomfortably hot.

Folks! Corded tools are not dead! This jigsaw is a workhorse. Handles very well. I like the slide switch on this style jigsaw because it allows you to focus on the cut. Has some weight to it which helps stabilize the workpiece. Highly recommend!

Great tool for cutting curves and arcs from a 6x6. Works like a pro! Thanks Bosch and of course Home Depot for delivering it to me in record time!

Great tool, but unable to register the tool. Registration website won't accept model/serial numbers for this tool.

Powered through 0.60" thick aluminum plate. Heavy duty construction. Last Jugsaw I'll need to buy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I OWNED A BOSCH BARREL GRIP JIG SAW FOR I GUESS 10 YEARS ,COULD BE LONGER, AND WAS THE BEST DARN JIG SAW I EVEF USED. IT HAD A NICE ROUND BODY WITH A ROTATING KNOB ON TOP AT THE BUISNESS END ,VARIABLE SPEED AND WHEN IT WAS STOLEN ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO I WAS SEVERLY DEPRESSED BUT WENT RIGHT OUT TO BUY ANOTHER. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY CHANGED THE DESIGN TO THIS CURRENT ONE AND IT IS NO WHERE AS NICE TO USE AS MY PREVIOUS ONE. THAT SAID NO ONE ELSE MAKES ANYTHING LIKE THE OLD ONE EITHER SO ALWAYS BEING HAPPY WITH MY BOSCH TOOLS I PURCHASED THE NEW MODEL. ITS GOOD ,NO ISSUES AT ALL BUT I MISS THE OLD STYLE AND HATE IT WHEN A GOOD DESIGN IS CHANGED FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGE...ITS ALMOST NEVER WORTH IT.
