Rude Staff
I went to the store today to purchase one item. The clerk in self checkout was rude and condescending so I opted for an actual cashier. Biggest mistake, she never greeted me, rang up my one item, snapped at me for entering my debit card to quickly. And when I reentered it at the right time, she literally walked away from her station and didn’t return, leaving me to have to remove my receipt from her register so I could leave. Worst customer service experience I have ever encountered.

    Store is chaotic, unorganized, numerous aisles blocked by ladders carts and product, many items in tool displays covered in dust and unkept. No one at any registers. They make you self checkout then come over and help after you struggle for a while. . Should just man a register. Total chaos.

      I rented a tool from the Danbury store, and the associate helping me on this day, Stephanie, was extremely helpful. She was very knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. I couldn't have asked for better service. They had the tool needed in stock; the rental process was very easy. Thank you!

          I have been renting equipment here for about two years and overall, this is the best place to come for many equipment rental options. The stuff works, no breakdowns, and the people here are helpful, courteous people. They will take care of you here!

              Appliance associate
              Old woman that works in appliances was extremely rude and hostile. When I approached and asked if she worked in appliances she replied “no I’m just walking around here for fun” and when I asked her for help buying a display appliance that was on sale she replied “you can’t take this what makes you think you can take this” I will never shop at this Home Depot location ever again I spent over 60k at this store so far this year and will not return. From now on I’ll only shop at new Milford store because of this appliance associate. She is definitely not qualified to work there and couldn’t even tell the difference between a Frigidaire and GE fridge, also extremely rude for absolutely no reason

                    Aggressive employee directing customers at checkout!
                    I wanted to use self checkout. The employee directing customers at checkout became loud and aggressive when I expressed my interest to use the self checkout. Everyone looked in my direction which made me feel threatened. Horrible customer experience!

                        Filthy mess and prices not clearly displayed
                        Was buying lime for my lawn. Price display was in bad shape, and bags of lime were filthy including bird droppings. Chose the brand of lime that was slightly less filthy, and price APPEARED to be $5.98, but upon scanning at checkout discovered was actually $15.98, versus the other brand which was much cheaper, around $5/bag. Did not have time to go back to swap to the dirtier but cheaper brand. Annoying as heck.

                          I've never had a great experience to share but the way I was treated by the man in lumber seals the fact that I will never step foot in this store again. Danbury Home Depot is the pits.

                            I bought a spool of wire 4 days ago and realized I did not need it. The cashier was unsure if it had been used so a second employee grabbed a new spool to confirm that it was new. After confirming that the spool was new, the store manager decided that he did not want to return the wire even though it was proven that it was new and I had the receipt to prove the purchase date.
