I went to the store today to purchase one item. The clerk in self checkout was rude and condescending so I opted for an actual cashier. Biggest mistake, she never greeted me, rang up my one item, snapped at me for entering my debit card to quickly. And when I reentered it at the right time, she literally walked away from her station and didn’t return, leaving me to have to remove my receipt from her register so I could leave. Worst customer service experience I have ever encountered.

Store is chaotic, unorganized, numerous aisles blocked by ladders carts and product, many items in tool displays covered in dust and unkept. No one at any registers. They make you self checkout then come over and help after you struggle for a while. . Should just man a register. Total chaos.

I rented a tool from the Danbury store, and the associate helping me on this day, Stephanie, was extremely helpful. She was very knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. I couldn't have asked for better service. They had the tool needed in stock; the rental process was very easy. Thank you!

I've been shopping here for 19 years. I've always found what I needed there. There is always a someone friendly available to help me when I need one.

I have been renting equipment here for about two years and overall, this is the best place to come for many equipment rental options. The stuff works, no breakdowns, and the people here are helpful, courteous people. They will take care of you here!

Monte was great finding what I needed. Tim was great getting it down from the rack for me. Nick was most helpful at the register for me. A well oiled customer service machine!

Old woman that works in appliances was extremely rude and hostile. When I approached and asked if she worked in appliances she replied “no I’m just walking around here for fun” and when I asked her for help buying a display appliance that was on sale she replied “you can’t take this what makes you think you can take this” I will never shop at this Home Depot location ever again I spent over 60k at this store so far this year and will not return. From now on I’ll only shop at new Milford store because of this appliance associate. She is definitely not qualified to work there and couldn’t even tell the difference between a Frigidaire and GE fridge, also extremely rude for absolutely no reason

I wanted to use self checkout. The employee directing customers at checkout became loud and aggressive when I expressed my interest to use the self checkout. Everyone looked in my direction which made me feel threatened. Horrible customer experience!

All you need to get job done

Was buying lime for my lawn. Price display was in bad shape, and bags of lime were filthy including bird droppings. Chose the brand of lime that was slightly less filthy, and price APPEARED to be $5.98, but upon scanning at checkout discovered was actually $15.98, versus the other brand which was much cheaper, around $5/bag. Did not have time to go back to swap to the dirtier but cheaper brand. Annoying as heck.

I've never had a great experience to share but the way I was treated by the man in lumber seals the fact that I will never step foot in this store again. Danbury Home Depot is the pits.

I bought a spool of wire 4 days ago and realized I did not need it. The cashier was unsure if it had been used so a second employee grabbed a new spool to confirm that it was new. After confirming that the spool was new, the store manager decided that he did not want to return the wire even though it was proven that it was new and I had the receipt to prove the purchase date.

They most likely have everything in stock 90% of the time.

I was looking for a staple in hardy and it was in garden . Had looked in Lowe’s but no one offered assistance. James did right away. 81 years old and saved me from wrong purchase

Chaotic, unfriendly, and lack knowledge of their own programs.

Checkout times are much better now, as more employees are manning the checkout area. Friendly checkout. Good pricing on garden/yard tools and frequent good sales on appliances. There is usually a greeter at the entrance who can direct customers.

The Customer Service Manager named Christine was the sole reason I made a $600+ purchase here! She was welcoming and very friendly, unlike others who shrug customers who stand in line! She checked the product in her system and spent the time and effort to get the job done. It is always the PEOPLE who make the difference between a Good Sale & a Lost Sale! Christine made an effort to make a Good Sale and she succeeded!

Staff friendly, store fairly clean (it's always a work in progress) Main issue some of the staff's lack of knowledge on where and/or what products are carried. Also would be nice if they had some working knowledge of products (even just biggest sellers) in their area. If you are (inessance) a sales person shouldn't you know something about what your selling???

The store is well managed and the employees are helpful and friendly. I really appreciated them helping me maneuver heavy items and load them in my car. Thank you.

Tanya at special order kitchen counters is very hard to reach. Someone else should stand in as manager when she's not available to help customers wit their needs. It gets frustrating to keep calling and not get a response in the same day.

I find that generally speaking that the associates that I interact with and many that are just there working are genuinely openly friendly and willing to help ensure that I have had a satisfying shopping experience.

On my recent trip there was hardly any associates to help me. I waited 20 minutes before I was helped. Also no cashiers were open. I was forced to use a self checkout. If you don't work for Home Depot why should you have to scan and bag your items. They're taking away cashier jobs from real people.
