The very first load I dried with this heat pump dryer ruined my white towels. I removed them from the dryer and they have black grease marks on them. I wiped the inside of the dryer with a white rag and found the grease at the back of the drum along the seam where the brush and metal drum meet. I cleaned it off completely, dried a load of jeans and then checked for grease. Yes, more grease inside the dryer. I called Whirlpool and set up service. I'm feeling pretty awful about this purchase, the upcoming service two weeks away and getting resolution.

I love the energy savings from this dryer. Unfortunately the HybridCare filter element is very poorly made - it's made from a very thin mesh material and has a piece of foam in the middle. It's poorly made and has deteriorated after only 5 months of use. Whirlpool was willing to provide a one-time replacement but refused to acknowledge that there's a design problem with this dryer.The HybridCare filter needs to be made from the same material as the primary lint trap to ensure proper long-term reliability. Until this change is made I can't recommend this dryer.The dryer makes our laundry room hot and humid - I have to keep a window open when using the dryer. Perhaps a proper exhaust to eliminate some of the humid air would be appropriate as well?

Bigger than I thought. Clothes come out almost dry (as long as you do not mix heavy items [like blankets] with regular clothes).

Bought 2 months ago. Very Quiet, and very efficient. Finally a large capacity ventless. Far exceeds my greatest expectations. I am not sure why some reviews say its noisy?? Its very quiet. Drys quickly.

We were motivated to purchase this machine on account of generous rebates from both our electric utility and Whirlpool. It does "feel good" to make an environmentally responsible choice. I would provide a couple of cautions though:1. The fact that it is a ventless dryer means your laundry room will heat up and feel humid. IN winter time that may be a good thing. But if you live in a hot climate, you may find your air conditioner and your dryer fighting it out.2. Cycle times are quite long. You can choose an "energy saving" mode that might mean a 1 hour 25 minute cycle time, or other less energy efficient modes that will shorten drying time to perhaps an hour.3. I have found that if I take a load out, and then put a new load in, it sometimes "thinks" the new load is finished drying before it is dry. Moreover, there are times when it "thinks" the clothes are dry when in fact there is still a bit of dampness.

Simply the best , dries fast and DOES NOT MAKE THE ROOM HOT. We love it .Ventless was a super selling point for my husband and he is still grinning. The reviews about heat and loud noise we are just not feeling or hearing it. The delivery guys set it all up no leaks and believe me we have had enough of that had just remodeled put in hard wood floors in laundry and kitchen pipes leaked and we were at Home Depot to replace with the super cool tile that looks like wood. We love the washer , dryer and our new floors.

This ventless dryer WED99HEDW is one piece of junk. Home depot delivered it and it never worked even once. I've been working with Whirlpool for the past 6 weeks trying to get it fixed (since HomeDepot refused to help, even though they delivered a "lemon"). Technician came, ordered some parts, came back after 4 weeks, replaced the parts and it still doesn't work. Whirlpool service is very bad and those guys are rude. They have no consideration that you have spent $1500. Don't waste your hard earned money in this junk or even with Whirlpool.

We've been using the HybridCare for about two months and so far are very pleased both with the performance and the reduced electricity usage over our previous conventional dryer (at least 50% less). Because this is new technology, at least in the U.S. market, I actually purchased the extended service plan, something I normally don't do. One concern for long term use are the lint filters - they don't seem likely to hold up well. Plastic hinges rarely do well in high heat, continuous use environments.

It dries the clothes, that is what counts. It takes a little longer on full Eco mode but the energy savings should easily make that worth it. The only negative I have experienced is the slight "whine" it makes and the humidity it adds to the room. But I keep the laundry room door closed to keep the kitchen quieter so that probably exacerbates the humidity situation. Most of the year I can have the door to the garage open and that will let the humidity out.

I live in a condo building that was built with non-vented laundry rooms, and I replaced a condensing dryer with the Whirlpool HybridCare Dryer and a matching washer. I was a little nervous because I was afraid I would not get the performance I was hoping for in this more expensive dryer. I was wrong. I've seen reviews that talk about very long drying times, but I can generally dry a load of clothes in less than an hour. While the countdown timer starts out at more than an hour on Eco-friendly settings, mine seems to drop the time during the cycle as it senses less moisture. Drying times are half that of my condensing dryer, and the options on this unit are great! The only thing I'd like to have seen added is a steam option. I've had the dryer about 2 weeks now, and I can say that I am completely satisfied with everything about it, so far.

When we bought our ventless dryer, I was somewhat skeptical that it would dry things thoroughly. It has exceeded my expectations, and things come out dry and less wrinkled than before. I love the fact that the dryer reminds me when it's time to clean the extra filter - I do not have to remember how many loads have been done until it's the 5th load. I also like the "pleasant" signal when the laundry is done. The best part is knowing we will never have a dryer fire because it is ventless. Using less energy is always a plus too. All in all, it's been a good purchase!

I have been waiting for a Heat pump vent less dryer to be available in this country. When I found out Whirlpool was making it, we ordered immediately. We are building a new efficient home and this dryer will be the star of the show! Now we won't be ducting heated air out of the house every time we dry clothes. We have had it for about two months and it really works great! Clothes are softer and drier than before, and although I don't have a baseline for energy use, our use so far is very low.

We bought this washer and it's partner dryer when we recently moved because our new home required a gas dryer and our old Duet was electric. We LOVED our old duet set and assumed this had to be as good, if not better, than that one. Wrong! This one is so loud it sounds like a turbo thrusting car is in our laundry room. Our old one was barely audible but this one can be heard downstairs, in the garage, outside. I wish I had known how terribly noisy it was going to be and i never would have purchased it. My old Duet was so quiet it almost didn't sound like it was working. How could they have regressed so far in the quality of a washer and dryer

I bought this dryer along with a matching new Whirlpool washer in June 2015. It uses far less electricity than my previous old outdated Kenmore dryer. I really like the ventless feature because the dryer vent in my house is about 30 feet long and can get clogged. The only downside is that it's somewhat more noisy than my old dryer.

This is the best appliance I have ever purchased. It is so easy to use with the preloaded settings. The only thing you have to do is load and unload. The wrinkle free of the clothes is remarkable. Takes so little time to dry a heavy load

I would recommend this dryer, it has lots of great features. I am really enjoying my new dryer and it works great. It was in easy install and all the parts needed were included. The look is very clean and stylish. Lots of features and options for any drying need. Since it is ventless it could work in just about any area of your home. 7.3 cu FT of capacity for drying bigger loads of laundry. It uses far less energy by recycling the hot air. 8 different drying cycles. 4 temperature settings for optimal heat if needed. Signal alert to let you know when the clothes are dry. My clothes now dry better and faster then my old dryer. I think this dryer could work in just about any home.

I am so pleased with this dryer. It is a bit larger than most, but it has a space age feel to it. It has a very large load capacity, which makes it much more efficient when drying. It has a sensor that will adjust the temperature to the proper heat depending on the wetness or dampness of the load. I like the fact that it does not have an outdoor vent shooting out lint to my ac unit. You must be sure that it is set up in a laundry room or garage or a closed area so that the heat generated does not impact the rest of the house. Highly Recommend this product.

I needed a ventless dryer and I really didn't know if the technology would truly work and to my surprise, it totally does! Not only is it a fantastic design, it does the job and I'm thrilled!

Installed a week ago, along with matching Duet steam washer. Works great, but the high pitched whine coming from the dryer gives me a headache. Also, it makes the laundry room too hot and humid. I do understand this is normal for this type dryer, but if I'd known ahead of time, I might have chosen NOT to purchase the ventless dryer.For video, search YouTube for "Whirlpool Duet Ventless Heat Pump Dryer Whining". I remodeled my kitchen and wanted to stack the washer & dryer so I could move the ice box where the washer was. The room was tight and I couldn't have the vent. The vent-less dryer was the ticket. The combo work great together.Thanks

Duet washer/dryer combo installed 2 days ago. After 2 loads through, I can say it works great. However, the high pitched whine of the dryer gives me a headache and it makes the laundry room very hot and humid.

We were SO hoping this dryer would be wonderful... and it just isn't. We've had it for a week and it doesn't dry anything in faster than 2 cycles. The laundry room turns into a steam bath every time we run it. On top of that, it produces a high-pitched whine that gives me a headache every time. It's going back. I hope the next iteration of this dryer fixes these issues!

Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Had it for five months, problem free. We live in a large apartment building, without venting (like most urban new construction), so had been limited to the original euro condensing machines. With a young family, this full-size makes such a difference. We're not using the eco functions at all, so we find it very fast (especially compared to traditional non-venting). We've had no leaks or high humidity, and find it fairly quiet. Compared to non-venting alternatives, it's a home run.

LOVE THIS MACHINE !!! DON'T UNDERSTAND SOME OF THE OTHER NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS BUT OURS WORKS GREAT. WE HAVE A 2 STORY HOUSE AND NEVER LIKED THE VENT GOING ALL THE WAY THRU THE ROOF. PROBLEM SOLVED. IT DOES HAVE SOMEWHAT OF A WHINE BUT DOESN'T BOTHER US. I GUESS IF YOU HAD IT NEXT TO YOUR BED IT MIGHT. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. THX, COOP

We've had the dryer for about a month. It's great to have the ventless style (although we vented our old dryer to the outside, in cold weather we really noticed the air coming into the house through the opening). Our clothes come out softer than with any dryer we have had and seem to dry more thoroughly. Although we are running it on Eco mode, we have not noticed overly long drying times (this may be due to having a really good washer that extracts a lot of water at the spin cycle). We like the new style filter system, which seems to capture all of the lint between the two filters. Dryer is a bit louder than prior model but not terribly so.

Thrilled with the ventless dryer, LOVE the 7.3. cu ft. capacity. Great government rebates! Highly recommend this dryer!
