The first thing you need to know is that you do not need to install the Westinghouse 15.5 cu.in. Ceiling Fan Saf-T-Brace with the junction box in the center of the bar; you can locate the box anywhere on the square section of the bar. This is very important in cases like mine in which the plastic junction box to be replaced was simply nailed to a joist (or a roof truss 2by4 in my case) above the ceiling. I installed the bar with the screw-thread end against the 2by4 *opposite* the box, then attached the new box to the end of the bar where the old box had been.
My only issue was with the plastic insert provided for the hole you punch out in the metal box, to keep the metal from chafing into your conduit (with the expected dire results). The instruction sheet didn't mention it, so I had to figure it out...and I could have used more than one, but I found a way to made do. But that's not worth taking a star off my rating.
Otherwise, you'll find that the hardest part about installing this unit is getting the old junction box out. A shower of blown-in roofing insulation added to the entertainment of my installation, but didn't affect job completion.
