I figured this would be a nice upgrade from my old 5,000 BTU A/C so I went for it. At first, I noticed it cooled fine but much slower than expected. A month later, after the Florida heat has started to kick up, I'm sweating in my room with this thing on full blast. Now I'm stuck without the ability to return this glorified fan. AVOID.

Easy installation. Unit maintains the temperature very well and is easy to control.

After our HVAC was struck by lightning, we needed a temporary solution to keeping the house cool and lower humidity. This unit was purchased for an office space (small bedroom). Overall for the price we paid on sale, it does the job and has nice cold air blowing so it yields a good value. The drawbacks are the following: * The unit does not come with a remote like the title of this listing states; I suspected it would not due to the manual nature, but Home Depot really should update the listing to reflect the accurate product described. Photo is accurate. * Aluminum screen on the back will bend if you go to lift the unit and your fingers grasp the back (some reviewers complained of being cut by the unit while lifting also), so be careful to only lift by the sides (no handles to aid in lifting, and unit is small but heavy). * Unit is LOUD, my husband turns it off while working because the noise is bothersome. Disappointing. * Minor assembly is needed with attaching the side panels, which is fine but the side panels have a soft plastic seal on each end where it connects to the unit. Unfortunately, when following the directions and sliding the side panels into the brackets, the metal brackets cut this soft seal rendering it useless. Directions do not warn of this so be careful when connecting (best to do it while looking at the back of the unit). We would not purchase this unit again for a room that needs to be quiet, but for anyone just wanting to cool a small space at a good price, I would recommend the unit.

What stands out is the small size and the great output of air it provides. Easy to install. Its relatively quiet... won't keep you awake. Easy to adjust settings. I've had it for 2 weeks and no problems thus far.

unit ws advertised as having remote control even on receipt said remote control installed looked in box surpries no remote control

I am disabled and puchased this 5000 BTU model bedause it says in description that remote is included.I paid a hanyman to install the unit. He told me this was a manual unit with no remote. I contacted HD support, and it took them over an hour to reach out to Toshiba who confirmed HD website was incorrect. They offered me a discount to keep this unit which doesnt work for me. When I spoke to supervosor he was rigid and said he will send UPS for return and give me $100 GC for new unit. I told him that it costing me $50 eah time for install and removal, and that I am llosing money because of HD innacurate website. The supervisor didn't care at all, and said its the best he can do, and that me being handicapped is irrevalent.

It’s a bit loud and the remote works sporadically. It does put out cold air, so there’s that.

Have had many Toshiba products in the past. They all worked great. this air conditioner quit at one year . worse air conditioner I have ever had Won't buy Toshiba again!

Easy installation. Runs quietly. Cools well. Remote control functions well. Fits window as described in instructions and advertising. I'd buy again.

Bought this 6000 BTU based off of the reviews and must say that I'm highly disappointed... The room I'm cooling is barely 120 square feet and this loud beast can't come close to what the old LG 5000 BTU unit it replaced!!! I can NOT recommend this unit for use in Florida and will be returning it before long!!! It's just not putting out any performance and is louder than what Toshiba claims!

Do yourself a favor and just rip the front of the box. Don't try to lift it out of there like it's precious. It's a vicious predator, proceed with caution. Listed as with remote but there's def no remote capabilities and eco smart mode would be welcomed. Good ol bait and switch advertisement. Fortunately I bought 2. Also large gap in bottom of accordion, you'll need foam insulation or spray foam to seal the gap or you'll just be letting in the outside rendering it a useless situation.

Just what I needed at a great price

I should have bought a 8,000 Btu unit.

No remote with this unit. Very quiet.

Met my expectations. Delivers as I expected. Good performance.

Cools well, no issues with the interface or the remote. The unit does randomly get very loud, even on the lowest fan setting, and sometimes sounds like it even has a squeaky/grindy sound. I've never had a window unit before, so I don't know what is and isn't a normal sound, but it's very unpleasant and really jarring if it happens when sleeping.

I wish it had a thermostat on it to indicate the room temperature!

Product meet my expectations.

The AC works well and is easy to install. I wish that the units can be available throughout the year, especially in Hawaii where humidity is high year round.

Needed a small, sleek looking ac unit for a narrow window and this fits! Hasn’t been hot enough to find out if it will cool the room, but calculations of sq ft match the machine’s specifications. Here’s hoping!
