Blows nice cold air etc but getting the settings rite etc on this machine is a pain. It needs a simple temp set set fan and energy savings, but the multiple modes interact, so it is not efficient. It survived the 111f temperatures here in social on one day so it's good for your super hot northwest and, southwest heat waves. Ironically unit was heavier than a 12 year-year-old LG that it replaced. Also, I got it installed in the sliding window with wood, etc, takes extra time but once done works fine. Remote could take some work getting the batteries out is a pain to do.

Small but mighty! Very cold air and easy to install! I’m a woman and installed in less than 20 minutes alone! Great for a small room

Bought this to replace my frigidaire that isn't cooling as it should anymore after 4 years of use. I will use this while I try and see if I can repair the frigidaire. These windows AC also function as an air filter for the room.

We bought it for a shed we use as an oversized dog house. I mounted it thru an opening in the wall, Building a frame into the existing structure. I expected it to do the job...but it does more than that. Its a 10 x 12 shed, and it cools it in 15 minutes. We use the unit nights and when we have to leave them indoors while we are off property. Its quite quiet, it cools instantly. It has so much variety in the control knobs, that it can be practically programmed to a specific temp. We will be buying another for my office & our main bedroom. We're using one the original owners left behind...but not for long. It was easy to install. The seal was perfect. The filter is easy to access and clean. It doesn't sweat or drip. Totally above my expectations for the price. Love it. My dogs thank you too!

This is a nice little AC unit for a small space. Hopefully I don't void the warranty by posting this, but I installed this unit directly in the wall of my 8'x12" studio. It has no problem cooling that small space and works much better than the portable unit we had. the filter is flimsy and seems like it will break if you aren't careful taking it out and putting it back in. I like the simplicity of the controls even if the small dials are sort of hard to turn. This thing is really light and compact...I like that about it.

First time to install AC! Decided to use plexiglass looks better than wood but lot harder to work with. Had to fabricate a L BRACKET so I could hold the front bottom down. I use the 2 screws on the side to anchor the AC down so I could set the angle that I could take exact measurement to cut the plexiglas! I use my small grinder with a very thin blade to cut it than break it or you can cut it through. It worked better than a saw or scriber! I also had to use 3/4 wood to lift the AC over the aluminum window sill. I used 1/4” plexiglass. I surprised myself turned out nice!

Horrible. Dont waist money. It sounds like a jet plane. Doesnt even cool off small bedroom. Remote doesnt work. It lowers the volume on my tv but doesn't work on AC. I purchased last year july 20 through home depot during pandemic & installed it this year march 21. I'm so unhappy. So loud! & who doesnt put a drip hole under AC! Also a bit heavy. Toshiba please feel free to refund my money!

I love this air conditioner. I specifically sought out a small air conditioner with knobs for my bedroom in a house that otherwise uses a heat pump system. I find the whole system to be uncomfortable extremes of temperatures no matter the time of year so I block off the vent to my bedroom and relax and sleep in a more comfortable temperature than the rest of the house. I've been using it for almost two months and while it's not exactly hot yet down in the south, it has been uncomfortably humid some days and this air conditioner helps with that. I wanted one with knobs as opposed to a digital button interface that can crack and get dirty. The knobs have a satisfying smoothness and click. The bedroom is roughly 140 square feet and the air conditioner cools it better than the 25 year old Gibson I was using before. It can almost get too cold which I will definitely appreciate in the hottest parts of summer. Nice styling but wish more window air conditioners would come in black. I do recommend insulating the sides because the accordion sides are so thin and not too far off from being wide open to the outside, but the ready sized foam panels that are available only seem to be made for larger units making each foam panel not wide enough to fit the space. I used large eggcrate sound proofing panels, layered them with spray adhesive to make them thicker and cut them to fit and installed with double sided gorilla tape. It worked very well and looks nice considering anything like this specifically made for air conditioner insulation will not fill the space. You can install this yourself but it's not easy. You'll get it installed eventually being careful not to drop it but I'd recommend some help to put the foam insulation in place and closing the window while you're situating it into the right spot. It's a little precarious with just two hands. Get this for a small room. It's good.

The unit does a good job unfortunately due to my guesstimation the room is a little bit on the large size for the 6,000 unit. However it gets down to 78 degrees when I want it to which is perfect because I don't use it all the time. I would give it five stars except for the fact that the remote control literally worked one time bump the temperature up one degree and quit working immediately. I have changed batteries with brand new batteries unplug the unit reset the unit weighted a day. To no avail do I have remote control which was a huge deciding factor in purchasing this unit because it's mounted in the corner of a room behind a table saw why I bought it in the first place was to be cooled off while I'm using set table saw. So the fact is is I would have getting it five stars for keeping me cool if I didn't have to bend over an extremely far amount and reach the buttons.

The installation is not too difficult. I was worried the circuit breaker might jump since I have it plugged with 2 computer systems together. Yet, so far so good for 4 weeks. The unit is able to cool a 12* X 14" room. It is a bit noisy but in between noise and heat, I picked the noise. There is only one problem that bothers me. The 2 vent directors can swing left and right freely. But I found the up and down adjustment is very limited. It is very much blocked by a few white plastic sticks so I have to use a diverter to force the air to go downward. see picture!!!

Are use this just in one bedroom with the door closed that is about half the square feet (162 ft.²) that this is rated for, and it never can get it to the lowest temperature setting (62°). It can get it down to 64° but only if it’s not too hot outside. Yes I like my room cold, 64° preferably.

It doesn't feel like 5000 btu. More like 3000. If you need to run your ac hours at time, this unit seem to not work to well if the room temp is hot.

We bought this unit for my bedroom as it gets pretty hot in the summer. The Unit will cool down not only the room, but most of the upstairs. (There are 3 bedrooms, a full bath, and short hallway upstairs.) Simple controls. Can be simply used as a fan as well. Unit is very small and light. Really easy to install. Has worked well for about a month.

Bought this when our air conditioner stopped working and we had to wait for parts to arrive. Put this in our bedroom window and ended up pretty much living there for five days until the parts were installed. This air conditioner kept the bedroom and bathroom nice and cool, and allowed us to sleep. The house was 87 degrees when the a/c came back on. We also like how compact this unit is and fairly easy to place in the window. The only negative is that the instruction manual was a bit hard to follow . . . probably due to the translation from Japanese to English. This unit was a real lifesaver for us and well worth the price. We wouldn't have been able to stay in the house without it.

It works better than I expected. I bought it for my bedroom and it really does a great job.

We purchased two of these units. They work great. They both cool the house very well. It is just noisy in the bedroom. Going to move it to another room and it should cool the upstairs The downstairs one cools three rooms open wall approx 10 x 15 per room

Hands down the best window AC I've ever bought. I'm a firm believer in Toshiba products anyway. if you're looking for a small window air conditioner that really cranks out some cold air. This is the machine for you. My apartment is about 1150 square feet, cools it down beautifully. And it's 90 degrees outside right now

The air condition was easy to install. It really gets my living room cold.

The unit works well and cools as it should. The only reason for a 4 star vs 5 star is that it makes noise as though fan blades are splashing in condensation. The unit is installed at the proper angle and is draining but it seems as though this may be part of the design.

I purchased this Toshiba 6000 BTU window ac, after I reviewed the Home Depot posted PDF user manual to be certain that the air filter could be accessed from the front rather than the side. It turns out the manual Home Depot has associated with this model is dated 2018. The model I received has a manual dated 2020. During this time difference apparently Toshiba modified their product and the 6000 BTU unit now has a filter access from the side. In my situation I did not notice this until the carpenter I had hired placed the unit in the custom opening only to find that I could not access the air filter. Home Depot processed the return without any hassle.... Well, they would not give me a new discount code for a couple bucks off. Just so frustrating that time, effort and materials were wasted. Never plugged the unit in. It certainly had some good reviews, and I was impressed by comments of how quiet it ran. Also nice that Toshiba seems to respond to reviews.

While this unit does operate and cools, the QA on the accessories was very poor. Who knows what poor quality or design shortcuts were taken on the A/C unit itself?

The air condition was easy to install and to operate.

my room is at the back of the house so its not the coolest Temps but this little ac unit is amazing the room is bow the coldest in the house and super easy install

This window AC was so easy to install, it cools my sun room (170 square feet) very well, and it is quiet. I just replaced my old unit with this one, and the difference in the noise level is awesome!! Would definitely recommend this unit.
