Great Purchase
I installed a small greenhouse and needed 6 of these brackets to build a footing for it to stand on. These worked well for me.

Brilliant! this product was very helpful for our deck project, that needed a sturdy foundation
We built a deck off of our second story bedroom suite. We used 9 ' posts and had to attach them to concert footings. This product served that purpose very well. This post base is very sturdy, and was easy to install. We are confident that we will have a long lasting sturdy deck.

Not recommended for non top-supported installations
Easy to use, but WOBBLY. I wasn't aware that these were a bad idea to use for a trellis until I I was half done with the build and noticed it swaying in the wind. The information posted here: "Not recommended for non top-supported installations" was not posted in my local Home Depot store where I purchased them. They were merely piled up in a torn-up box with a price tag below. If I wasn't a construction bone-head, I may have known better…. These are probably fine for whatever they're intended for, and they look sturdy, but for those doing fences, trellises, etc., they're not going to provide a very stable base.

Did the job in repairing a grape arbor.
I repaired the four 4x4 rotting cedar post on a grape arbor by sawing them off and then setting the supports in concrete in the existing holes where the posts had been set in concrete. Worked great.

Make sure you read the description.
This is NOT for fences. Unfortunately, I failed to see that in the product description, bad on me. Something that looks like it's made for fencing and is available in the regular store (which is where I bought it) is definitely not for fencing. It probably works fine,, as the description says, if you use it for a carport or something, but for regular fencing, it's definitely wobbly- not solid at all. On top of that, it's only intended for pressure treated lumber- does not fit with cedar- meaning that you have to trim or sand the 4x4's before you put them in. Just be aware of what this product is and what it's not.

    Good produce
I used 12 of these in a support for solar panels. I was particularly concerned with the uplift forces, so I chose these. I live in Wyoming and the wind can be very strong. So far they haven't had to withstand more than 40 mph winds, but they didn't even shake in that. Simpson Strong Tie makes good products and this is no exception.

    Simple Product, great results
The Simpson Strong-Tie6x6 Elevated Post Base is a great product, and is actually two products in one. No need for anchors, then base caps, just need this, and it gets the job done at a fraction of the cost, without compromising function or quality

    well made product
This post base is does what it is intended to to. It is designed to be set into poured concrete. It is not intended to be in a fence or mailbox application. It is intended to be used in combination with other posts/ colunms and bracing.

easy to put in, very wobbly
Went in easy, hard to know it's set for a plumb post. It leaves each post with a lot of wobble which is OK on the non-end posts, but gets worse near the end of a length of fence and is really bad on a gate post. I like that it holds the post above ground and that the post is easily replaceable but it's not worth it to me
