I have been using this model of valve for my drip system for many years, and It has been perfect so I am going to use the new one for a new system.

Easy to install. Works good.

The device was what I needed. Fixed that issue.

The old irrigation valve was a green color, it sprung a leak and changing the diaphragm didn't fix it. So I bought one of these. Why? Well I would have been stupid to buy another green one wouldn't I? The green one broke and squirted water all over the place flooding my yard and making mud pools for the dogs to walk in all over the carpets. I installed this black one and it works fine. The mud has all dried up.

Replaced my entire manifold and used these valves. They worked perfect. I built the manifold with removable couplers, so I can easly replace the valves when needed. I purchased twice as many as I needed so I would have replacements that would fit perfectly.

I was adding two zones to my system and bought some 1” Orbit jar top valves that were a couple bucks cheaper and I though I’d like the ease of maintenance with the jar top. Unfortunately they all leaked when shut off so I retuned them and bought these Rainbirds. No leaks here. I’ve got some 3/4” on other zones of my system and the diaphragms and solenoids look to be the same parts for 3/4” and 1” so that’s nice too. Those 3/4” rainbirds are 4 years old now so I think this is a pretty good valve.

I bought 4 of these to rebuild the manifold in one section of my aging irrigation system. I chose the threaded connection to allow some flexibility in the future if their were pipe leaks in or near the manifold. The existing system was plumbed with no leeway to repair leaking pipes without cutting out the valves themselves. I never had any issues with the existing Rainbird valves in 16 years. However, since they had slip on connections, I had to replace a few valves when a nearby connection leaked.

This Rain Bird 3/4 in. FPT In-Line Valve works great and unlike Orbit, does not leak from the get go. It also looks like it's heavier duty than Orbit for the same price.

Have eight of these. After 8 months I had to replace one which was not shutting off 100%.

The valve was easy to install and worked as designed.
