Not quite what I expected

Did what is supposed to do easily

Even after charging for 24 hours, the battery only lasted 10 minutes at best

The interchangeable tools are great. I purchased the edger along with a new string trimmer. I can't say enough about how happy I am with the performance of the tool. Edging along the driveway and road are a breeze with this. I highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this to begin edging a lawn that was previously edged by a string trimmer. This unit has cut a clean edge on our lawn for the first time in years. It required some prep to get the edge clean enough to use this new tool, and now edging is quick and easy.

Much better on St Augustine grass than the first Ryobi Edger with string that does not get the job done at all.

Fairly decent edger. Major problems and delays to make purchase. It was locked up, with no staff available. After 3 requests the employee could not open the lock. The combination was incorrect. So I had to wait over 30 minutes to make purchase. This is a crazy way to run a store. It tell me you don't want to sell

Bat lasted only 8 min. Then needed recharge it took 3 1/2 hrs to edge my entire property Threw the edger out!

Battery pack broke day 1 and can’t take to store don’t buy

We own several Ryobi battery powered tools, however, this one missed the mark. We returned it due to poor performance. Is not powerful enough to edge sidewalks. Battery died within 20 minutes of use.

Bought 2 batteries just to be sure and I got a TOTAL of 18 mins out of both fully charged batteries.... took me 3 days to edge Great product if the battery life allowed you to finish the job in a timely manner.

I purchased last fall in 2023. Unit was easy to assemble and to use. I initially used with 2aH batteries but only got about 6-7 minutes of use. During this period, I had intermittent issues with the power switch becoming stuck on. When I changed to a 4aH battery usage time was much more acceptable but then the power switch went to permanently being on. It gave me a slight electrical shock while using one day. The only way to turn off the unit was to remove the battery which has obvious drawbacks and safety issues. It was initially underpowered for the first edging but once I finally got through the first time it worked well for re-edging. I finally gave up on it when it became extremely difficult to remove the battery from its slot. I returned it to Home Depot for an exchange but haven't had the chance to try out the new unit yet so hopefully I can provide another update later from this spring.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m on my second tool in 3 yrs. Planning to use the original For parts. I hope the new one lasts longer than 3 years. I might use it once a month in the summer so it’s not heavy use. May have gone through 3-4 blades. When it works it does a good job.

This product was a horrible purchase. I charged the battery and when I went to use the edger, it worked for about 5 to 10 minutes. From that point on, it took me 3 days to edge my small amount of grass in only the front yard. I had do stop and charge the battery and that went on for the 3 days. As time went on, the battery life was no longer than 5 minutes. This product was a waste of money. I would not suggest that anyone purchase the item. I am so disappointed. I went to another hardware store and purchased another edger. It works so well and was 10 dollars cheaper that the Ryobi.
