Nope
Bought one today. Will be bringing it back tomorrow. I only wish I could bring back the bucket of screws I had to buy also. You have to be super slow and easy with this TOOL if you want even HALF the screws to advance and go into the wood. Guess I'm saving some money and buying a much more expensive gun. Oh well. NOT RECOMMENDED

The #2sq bit that came with the gun rounded in about 10 screws, only 2 of which ran all the way down to the depth desired. After putting in an impact rated bit, the screws still did not run all the way to the board, leaving about 1/4 inch to do by hand. No amount of fine adjustment would bring the screws to level with the wood. With a few thousand screws to drive on this deck, the tool is going back. It feels like the gun is running so fast that it is stripping the wood as the screw ridges try to bite in to draw the screw into the wood. There is an internal spring behind the bit driver which prevents the bit from going all the way down to the board so no amount of pressure will push the screw into the wood without it being drawn in on it's own accord.

All my tools are made by Dewalt... until now. This is the first Rigid power tool I have purchased and I couldn't be happier! Like any tool it takes a little getting used to, but once you take your time to get to know it, you can fly through the screws. SQUARE THE HEAD TO THE MATERIAL!!!!! I can't stress this enough... I think most of the bad reviews are simply due to the fact that people aren't using the tool correctly. The first job I used it for was screwing down sub flooring. So must easier than going one by one with my impact! This tool, definitely made me interested in checking out more Rigid tools. Oh... did I mention it comes with a lifetime warranty! LIFETIME!

Patience and practice helps a lot
At first I wanted to punch this thing through the drywall and leave it for dead. I almost returned it to the store in a fit of rage. I was lucky if I could get 50% of the screws to drive as expected. I fumed and struggled through my first few sheets of drywall before I conceded and used my impact driver to finish out my day. That night I went online and read reviews until I found one that gave me the tip I needed... To get this tool to work, and work well, you MUST keep the motor running. Don't be shy. Pull the trigger and let the bit spin before, during and after pushing the screw to the wall. Once I figured this out I was flying through the drywall and smiling all the way. Only occasionally would I miss a screw and almost always it was operator error; not the tool's fault. Do not expect to get into the corners or tight spots. Otherwise, pull the trigger and let 'er rip!

        Runs on luck
Be prepared with a broom and hammer with this time-consuming tool. Works great 50% of the time. Be prepared to hammer in screws that were only partially driven in. And you’ll need a broom to sweep up the dozens and dozens of screws that never make it into the wood itself.

          Defective right off the shelf
Bought brand new and the tool will not lock the driver bit into the spindle. I checked numerous times that it was seated all the way in but it will not lock. I will be returning it in the morning

            Unreliable. Total Junk
I bought this Ridgid corded collated screw gun to install drywall screws in our 3800 SF home. After 5 work days, the clutch failed. I took it to a Ridgid service center. 3 months later, I was told to pick it up. Because the failed clutch part is no longer available, I was given a new unit. But, after 3 work days this time, the clutch on the new unit also failed. DO NOT BUY RIDGID COLLATED SCREW GUNS. OVERPRICED JUNK.

Used it once. Screws went in crooked every time. Jammed constantly. Took three hours to successfully drive six screws. This tool was so bad I wouldn’t buy made by Rigid again.

                Saves time
I use this for ceilings but an extended holder for the screw belt would improve its use 10 fold. The screw belt tends to flop to the side and jam the progression of the belt. Perhaps I’ll machine something. Maybe rigid would be interested in an adapter to handle the problem

                  Bad reviews are user error.
Simply put, these are great. Bought my second one because I found it on a clearance rack for $40. My several year old one works just fine and has put in 10s of thousands of screws. Hand it to someone who’s never used it and they’ll strip the bit in a few minutes. Once you know how to use it (did you guys watch YouTube or get this… read the manual? Won’t hang drywall without one. Won’t do subfloors without one. Excellent tool if you know how to use it.

                    Don’t use for deck screws
2 1/2” square drive screws are a no go. The bit has problems finding the screw head. When the screw loads it doesn’t stay centered to the drill, it hits deck board at an angle causing the bit to not be centered on screw causing you bit to not stay attached to screw.

                      Not ready for prime time
This tool is a great idea but the engineers need to do more work. It misfires every 3-5 times, either ejecting the screw off to the side or jamming the screw against the nose guide. When it jams you have to stop and pull that screw through the machine, removed it from the belt, then continue. It also doesn't accurately place the screw--seems that the screw will be driven randomly within the circle of the nose guide, anywhere within a 1/2 inch area.

                        Junk
This tool won’t drive square head screws. Bought for subfloor installation yesterday. Going back today. If you are lucky, 1 out of 5 screws partially drives. The remaining 4 pop out of the gun or do not line up straight causing a misfeed. Also the depth adjustment is inconsistent. I even changed the extra supplied head with the same results. Quality Metabo 1 3/4 screws used. Rigid, time for a redesign! Don’t waste your time on this tool. Ps. Nice case

2 1/2 deck screw wouldn’t clear nose guard.
Inoperable with 2 1/2 inch deck screw. It was a total waste of time. I was better off using a regular driver one at a time. I do not recommend this product.

I Bought this unit thinking it’d save me some time putting sub floors down in my home. I spent more time going behind with my driver then I did using this gun. Needless to say after I made it half way through a 12x16 room it’s returned and a Makita will be taking its place.

                              Fairly disappointing
Easily the worst tool I own. I can’t speak for its drywall capability but as far as screwing down subfloor goes, I’m disappointed. When it does drive a score it does it fine but… has a 25-30% miss-fire, depth adjustment may as well not exist. Though the gun IS sold in store, screws are not. Not in my area anyway. I needed to take the plastic screw guard thing off because the screw strip kept catching on it and creating even more miss fires. I’ve used 4 screw strums and 43 screws were not driven. Just popped out of the strip instead. Spend a little more and get a quick drive. I gave it 2 stars because it does work, sort of.. and it’s also inexpensive

Worked well. Made my life easier on this drywall project. An occasional misfire but that was my mistake due to running in reverse and expecting to drive screws to proper depth (not happening). Overall great product and glad I purchased it.
