Has a problem staying on the wall were your drilling the hole to catch the water. Used several pieces of tape to complete the drilling. Also the holes for the water to go through the bottom part went to fast and filled the bottom part to fast. Not worth the price, you can put the bit in a dish of cold water every few minutes.

Don't waste Your Money
I purchased this kit to drill holes in my porcelain tile to install a shower door. This thing wouldn't penetrate the porcelain tile at all, the best it did was scratch the surface of the tile. Also the water goes through it so fast there's no way to cool the bit if it did work. Save your money.

I realize it is tough to drill through tile, but I thought this would be helpful. The water part. I had to just use the bit without the water.

    worked like a charm
Not sure why the negative reviews on this. Used it to drill four holes for a shower curtain rod without a hitch. Be patient, go slow, make sure your surfaces are clean and dry so the adhesive sticks and you’ll have a gold result, too.

Stabilizing the tile (prior to cut) is key to a consistent successful cut. Add cool water to the reservoir, drill the marked area of the tile - making sure to let the drill bit do the work. Forcing the drill and bit through the tile (excessive pressure) can cause damage to the tile and the drill bit. Steady even pressure on the equipment and tile should yield the desired result. - Bailey Customer Care QEP

For best performance, begin drilling while the water is slowly dripping onto the bit. Slide the bit in and out every few seconds to remove debris and supply fresh water to the drill point. It's important that the drill bit does not run dry. -Alexis. Customer Care QEP

I used this to install some hangers on a tile backsplash. Know that this only comes with 8 stickers/tape strips, so you may need more than 1 kit if you will be making more than 8 holes. If it came with more, it wouldn’t make much difference. The plastic water receptacle is pretty flimsy and won’t last much longer than 8 uses. That’s okay, based upon the price. Buying it, though, consider it a bit disposable and you’ll be fine.

I bought a 5/16ths and a 1/4 diamond hole drill from QEP. The 5/16ths was fine. The 1/4 is defective and would not cut anything. Apparently no imbedded diamond dust on the tip. The water resovoir is too small to hold enough water for a single cut through tile. I’ll avoid QEP.

      No Go For Me
Well there's 11 bucks down the drain. Look, I'm not a professional tile installer. But I'm an engineer, and meticulous about directions and preparation and pretty handy overall. I followed the directions to the letter. First time, the little sticky pad detached from the wall almost immediately. I assumed I had done something wrong, cleaned and dried everything and prepped with a second pad. Same result. It's ceramic tile, not that hard to cut. But I'm going to have to buy a carbide bit, because this thing sucks frankly. To those who love it and gave good reviews, I'd love to know why.

Bought this bit to drill floor tile for a door stop. Awkward to use the water reservoir on the floor, obviously made for horizontal use. I made it almost 3/16 inch into the floor tile. I wore off virtually all the diamond tip, and wore the bit itself down past the two slots cut into the drilling surface. I'll try to finish the hole with a quarter-inch carbide drill bit (for drilling concrete and masonry), and absolutely won't buy a QEP diamond bit in the future. One star is being generous.

Hard to align the hole placement on the tile when viewing through the guide. Diamond bit would not bite into the ceramic tile and then walked off position taking the guide and all the plastic housing parts with it.

Plastic box does help securing the drill bit. However the plastic is flimsy and cracked easy. The heat melted the plastic tube as well despite the dripping water. I got 5 holes drilled on a 3/8 porcelain tile. At the end the diamond head is flattened and the drilling time is longer. In summary, it is an essential part of the small task and saved me money not to find a contractor. Just be aware of the quality and don't expect durability.

End result was exactly what I wanted. Did a test run on an extra tile which proved very useful. Learned I wasn’t pushing the drill hard enough for fear of cracking the tile. Youtube - Mounting Shower Curtain Bar using a Water Cooled Hollow Diamond Drill Bit. Very helpful!

Junk! Don't waste your time, good reviews are fake!
This product is so poorly designed! The adhesive strips do not even stick to tile. As soon as you turn the drill on the whole thing comes lose and water is spilled everywhere. I now have damaged tile and have to go back to using a tension shower rod when I just bought a new curved rod. If this worked for anyone they were lucky, I should have turned away when I seen how low the stars were on the reviews.
