Failed on porcelain tile
This drill set looked as good idea, but the diamond grit did not stayed for one single hole. I tried this on porcelain tile, with water to keep it running...it got completely bald at the tip. After another run to HD to get the higher priced M. brand, and was able to complete all 6 holes and the diamnod grit still looked sharp at the top.

Thank you for taking time to review this tool. It is unfortunate to hear the tool didn't meet your performance expectations. We would like to offer tool info to lend a better understanding and customer satisfaction. Stabilizing the tile (prior to cut) is key to a consistent successful cut. Add cool water to the reservoir, drill the marked area of the tile - making sure to let the drill bit do the work. Do not force the drill and bit through the tile (excessive pressure) can cause damage to the tile and the drill bit. Steady even pressure on the equipment and tile should yield the desired result. The tip of this drill did not even last long enough to get past the first layer of porcelain tile. I had to go and buy a Milwauke drill bit. I was not impressed.

Perhaps on a wall and with softer tiles it works better, but in my case it was roached halfway through one hole in my floor tile. It's not able to clear material fast enough to make an effective cut.

        Poor Quality; Don't Buy
Purchased to drill into porcelain tile. After one hole, most of the diamond surface on the bid had worn off. By the 2nd hold the surface was smooth

                  TERRIBLE product
I just finished tiling my tub surround with porcelain tile, and needed to drill a bunch of holes for mounting the shower curtain rod, and various accessories. I've traditionally used a diamond hole saw, that I dip into a cup of water regularly. I thought this kit might make the job easier, and extend the life of the bit. Problem #1: my tile has a somewhat matte finish. The adhesive pads stuck to it for all of about 2 seconds, before coming loose. That made the whole water cannister useless. So I reverted to my tried and true technique Problem #2: The diamond bit is by far, the poorest quality one I've ever used. It overheated almost immediately (before getting half way through the first hole). The diamond coating burned off, and before I even realized what had happened, the entire bit fractured and collapsed into a twisted hunk of metal. I then switched to my usual Milwaukee bit, dipping it regularly per my usual method, finishing that hole, and drilling 13 more holes. That bit is still in good shape.

Bought this to to use on porcelain tile (to finish a center guide hole that my existing 1 3/8 inch dry bit WITH integrated center guide I had previously worn out). It worked as expected but you need to take care to position over center of your intended hole - I was nervous it would move or "walk" as this is a hollow bit vs a conventional bit with a true center tip. I also note that after 2 uses the foam-ish rubber gasket on the water "delivery system" was compromised/torn. In the end it did what I needed it to do and that was essentially finish my pilot to use my older 1 3/8" bit. I also bought the QEP 1 3/8 in diamond hole saw bit (with "water delivery system" aka cup) and used that for a subsequent hole. That too worked decently (on uninstalled tile - horizontal only as the cup needs to hold water) but AGAIN care needs to be taken to position over CENTER - if you are particular like me!

This hole saw would not even break glaze
The water tank is a novel idea but the bit is junk, not even able to cut through the glaze. I ended up going to Harbor Freight and buying a Bauer diamond bit for same price and used it in the QEP guide so it was not a total waste of money. But trying it in the first place was a total waste of my time. I used to think that Home Depot was above selling junk, recently I've had several products from them that are worthless at any price.

This product can last up to 12 times longer than the standard wet hole saw. The hole saw tip should always be dipped in water to pre-cool the bit. The drill should then be running at maximum RPM and held at a 45-degree angle to the tile. A semi-circle groove will be cut first which keeps the hole saw from slipping and scratching the tile. Once the semi-circle is cut, raise the drill to be perpendicular to the tile and apply light pressure. For best results, dip the hole saw back into the water every 5 seconds to keep the bit cool. QEP
