The shelves were easy to assemble with good instructions. Very sturdy. I am well pleased.

The bookcase was very easy to put together and looks nicer than your average IKEA piece.

Item arrived damaged with cracks along the entire seam on 4 sides. Quality of the wood not as expected. Overpriced. Would have have better luck with an Ikea or Target bookcase.

I needed a piece this size and once together, this is solid and serviceable. Does involve more serious construction skills: directions are easy to follow.

The bookshelf does not look as high quality as the Oxford desk - there is some exposed hardware, and its just not as sturdy looking. I have had it for a couple weeks, and it still is giving off an awful chemical smell. Probably would not purchase again.

I was not sure if the cabinet would have particle board pieces and was very pleased it did not. All the pieces including the shelves were wood. It is a heavy, sturdy piece and I bought them for either side of my sister's fireplace and they look amazing. The packaging was great because the boxes were destroyed by the time I picked them up at Home Depot and expected broken pieces. Everything was fine and the directions were very easy to follow.

Only complaint is the weight of the item in a box. Really should be 2 cartons, shelves in one, and tall pieces in another. For crying out loud, I'm a senior citizen, and grateful that I saw UPS man arriving so he could walk it into the foyer for me. Easy FOR 2 PEOPLE to assemble.

Love the shelves. The only thing I would recommend is that they be put together in a place like the garage where it can stay for a few days, because the smell was pretty overwhelming. It went away after a few days, but we had to open the doors for about three days to air out the room.

The only complaint that I have is that If you tighten the screws just a bit too tight the wood will split. But once I figured that out it was fine. Very easy to assemble and I love the look!

The shelving unit is as advertised. Arrived in-tack, no obvious damage (one cracked shelf, but not to an extent to compromise the integrity of the shelf or to be returned). Easy assembly. Fair price (discounted) for the shelving unit.

This is a nice bookcase that is fairly easy to assemble. However, it is kind of expensive for what you get.

I got two of these bookcases and love them!!! Very easy to assemble---even this little old lady was able to do it without any help!!! Quality is very good and they look more expensive than they were.

Looking for a bookcase to stand beside my two white book towers, I thought I had found the perfect one. I noticed some paint flaking in the corners, but thought it probably wouldn't be too noticeable so I proceeded to assemble it. Half way through this task, I realized that it wasn't just flaking paint; the side trim was actually coming unglued! Also, three of the cam bolts broke during assembly. For $200, this should not happen. Due it its weight, it was a very ungainly item to repackage and return to the store.

I purchased this bookshelf because I was looking for something that had a simple, clean appearance. This is a nice bookshelf. It's well made and fairly easy to assemble (I am fairly petite and was able to put it together on my own).

The book shelf was easy to assemble and the directions were easy to understand with step by step written directions and diagrams. It looks very nice in my bedroom! Directions stated two people were needed to assemble the item, but I was able to assemble it myself in about 45 minutes!

I am very pleased with my purchase. It looks perfect in my office!

Very nice bookcase, it was a little awkward to assemble without assistance, directions could be better (more detail). The case is well made and the finish is good.

I am really pleased with this purchase, having searched for some time for a bookcase of the right size for a small den to hold large books, CDs, a few LPs, etc. It was well packaged and arrived without any damage; the chestnut finish is just as I expected from the picture, and the shelves appear to be nice and sturdy. One small quibble: the vertical spacing of the pre-drilled holes for the shelves limits somewhat your flexibiity in shelf placement (three evenly spaced, then a large gap, then three more, another gap, then three more, etc.), but there's no fixed shelf, so at least all of them are adjustable. Overall, very happy with my new bookcase!

I recently started my own business. This is great stylish storage for my inventory. I love that the shelves are adjustable! This was easy to assemble too! I'm actually am going to order another one.

This is a very attractive bookcase. It is not as strong as I had hoped but it was still a good purchase. The paint looks very nice and it is fairly light even though it is veneer. I am glad I decided to buy it. Putting it together did take a couple of hours though.

I found this relatively easy to assemble, and it looks great. Be sure to buy this at a time when you can air it outdoors for a few days before permanently placing it in your home. It has a very strong odor that resembles paint. I bought three, and found it best to remove all packing material, which had the strongest smell, and immediately throw it away in plastic bags. Then, I propped all pieces on the covered lanai for two days, to air out. Then, I assembled it. It still has a mild odor, but seems to be dissipating. I would buy this again, but only when the weather allows for airing it outdoors. Other reviewers commented on the smell, which was very helpful to me in deciding if this was the right time to buy. Here in FL, in January, it is perfect weather to let it sit outside. Also, on one unit the instructions were unclear regarding the stickers on the pieces. The stickers are on the side that is not to be seen (bottom, back etc). Take care to align the small holes for the screws for the back board before finalizing, to be sure they are turned the right direction. Because the back is a flexible panel, and not wood, it can be awkward, so have another person handy if the piece is over 24 inches wide. Overall, a good buy. I do wish we had competitive products made in the USA, however. I'd pay a little more for a US product.

I have purchased products from HD before and have had positive experiences and a quality product. This is not the case with this bookshelf. The first time it came one of sides of the shelf was cracked down the middle (which is how I found it was actual wood - my only positive). I called and they sent me a new side. Problem being - it didn't fit with the rest of the parts. I tried and tried, and I'm fairly adept at putting together furniture. Eventually, after pulling out a ruler, I realized the holes were in the wrong places on the new piece they sent me. Once I finally put it together there was new problems. One, the top keeps coming unhinged every time it moves an inch or so. Very annoying - you have to keep their special tool handy at all times. Two, it's a lot bulkier than it looks in the picture. Just be aware. This is not their fault since they gave the measurements, but sometime I should have paid more attention to. Overall, I DO NOT recommend this product.
