I was so excited to get this washer after my Samsung washer stopped working. This one worked perfect for the first 7 months (purchased 5/2021, issues started 12/2021). I noticed the drum had dropped about 4 inches when it was washing a load and it was making a horrible grinding noise. After a tech looked at it, Maytag replaced it on 1/21/22. It’s now 2/10/22 and this one is having the same issue as the first one.

Our 15 year old Maytag dryer finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. The Washer is still going strong, but I wanted to have a matching set. I ordered this to go with the matching dryer and I am very impressed. I love the Oxi-Sanitize cycle since we have a newborn and a lot of poopy clothes. Our clothes come out nice and clean and dry faster with the high speed spin. I like the smart features and the glass lid. If you have not had an HE machine before it can take a little while to get used to the different sounds! Overall it is a great machine and I am looking forward to having it in service for many years to come.

This washing machine is nice, the only and most important downside? It throws itself off balance almost every wash. I will start a load of laundry just to find out hours later it’s paused because it failed to spin. Doing comforters is a nightmare.

We bought this washer a month ago and now we are very happy , you have to use the manual and the washer will be very easy .

This washer is usless, PEOPLE, read all the other negative reviews! We all have something in common, this machine is a dud from the get go. The clothes remain uwashed , soappy and it never fills with enough water no matter how you adjust the deep filling setting. It takes in with water, starts sensing , then lets all the water out again while the display says washing then move on to the rinse cycle Some of clothes will always float on top (it says so in the manual) and remain dry and unwashed. On top of that you will need the paitience of Job to use this washer. I thought I was buying a good efficient washer to make laundry easier for my wife but it has become a nightmare for her. The washer is not returnable so I just threw away $1000. I cannot recommend this washer Right now we have gone back yo our old washer because we had put it in the garage as we intented to use for washing mats and rugs etc. It 15 years old but still washes darn good

After two years the door broke. The left side hinge has a design flaw that stresses the plastic in the back corner. Repair cost is $250 for the part and does not include labor.

We bought this machine because of the capacity and supposed to be better because new technology which is supposed to clean better. It hardly moves whatever you put inside. Forget about putting a comforter! Using the bedding option will be dirty.

This did not work since the moment we first got this machine. We’ve had people come try and fix it like 7 times and nothing and they will not give a refund or exchange. My clothes is currently stuck inside and can’t get it out.

Looks great however doesnt work as well as I expected. I start loads and the washer doesn't fill with enough water, even with small loads. So sometimes I have to run the load a second time. Large loads dont even get wet on the top of the pile. The Deep Fill feature doesn't add any more water.

Disregard the good reviews, this washer is crap! Same issue as the other reviews complaining. Posting review mid cycle cause I’m annoyed and frustrated. Yes I have had a tech out and NOTHING they say is wrong with machine. Read bad reviews cause we almost all have the same problem.

This machine agitates with no water. I look in the tub and my clothes are wet with no water surrounding them and it's agitating, forcing the clothes to rub against each other. The "High" fill setting only fills 1/4 of the tub, Max Fill setting fills way too much. I've called customer service countless times... no help. Service visited because I was sure my machine wasn't filling properly but the service rep said it was filling as it should. Really?? It is so frustrating (as you can see since I stooped to taking pictures of my laundry) because I have to live with this machine for a long time. I support water conservation but this machine doesn't do it's job. I'm not sure the pictures help.

Purchased 1 year ago. Lid Plastic to thin and cracked due to spring tension on left hinge . After initial crack appeared we had to gently push down on top left back corner in order for lid lock to engage. Not covered under warranty. I tried to order new lid at $250.00 from 4 different Maytag parts distributers and ended up canceling each time due to the manufacturer not being able to give a sustainable delivery date. If you search you will find multiple customer’s with exactly the same failure. The Maytag I bought prior to this one had the drum lock up at 4 years. I am no longer a Maytag customer. I now have a 1 year old $900 boat anchor. Replaced today with New LG.

We’ve had our washer for about six months - it’s the WORST washer we’ve ever had. We spend more time rebalancing the loads than the machine does washing. It has has horrible filling and sensing problems and the electrical components have terrible sensors. We’ve placed multiple work orders, only to have a technician come out and reset multiple error codes but the same problems continue. The last service appointment was cancelled and it’s been several weeks now and I’m still trying to schedule another appointment. The warranty is for 10 years but they don’t stand behind their work. This Maytag washer is by far the WORST I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had several! Don’t waste your money- this washer is horrible- save yourself from the trouble!!!

we have had this hunk of evil for three months. would love to put it out by thr road with a sign "not worth scrap." this is hands down the stupidest and poorly programmed hunk of trash to ever be built. if you hate yourself, love misery, and seriously want your life to be much harder then it has to be, well congratulations this is the machine for you. everyone else, i recommend you hand wash your clothes in a polluted river before you buy this, we hate it that much. LG lost a customer for life, i wouldnt buy a bottle of water from LG if i was dieing in a desert. thank you for reading this, beleive me, you dont want to get ina shouting match w a washer every time you have to use it. its not a "i didnt read the manual, or its a user issue" nope this is 100% a manufacturer issue. i hope LG gooes out of business

We purchased the W/D as a set in September ‘20, and the washer has been nothing but a headache since it was delivered. The clothing, towels, but especially sheets get clumped into a huge wad forcing it to become unbalanced. It has moved so much, that multiple chunks of drywall have been taken out of the wall behind it. The machine will also stop mid-cycle, and if it pauses it cannot be restarted. The door locks, and I end up having to unplug the machine to restart the load again. This happens EVERY WEEK. Darker clothing comes out with detergent marks left behind. They have sent a technician out three times, ordered parts twice, wrong ones were delivered and no follow-up has been given in over a month. Terrible customer service. Maytag used to be the go-to for W/D units, but now it all a show of too many buttons and doesn’t handle basic laundering needs.

Don’t buy. I bought this from HomeDepot pain in full waited 7 days for delivery. Got delivered today a few hours ago, the washer is a dud!!! Brand new washer and it doesn’t wash at all, just fills with water and rise!!! No agitation or cleaning. I have ran the washer 3 times at 90 minutes each, clothes look the same. On one cycle the washer decided to “Cancel Cycle” on it’s own. I’m on the phone now with Homedepot.com trying to reach Maytag. Lol my 15 year old GE worked better than this, too bad they hauled it away today.

Digital panel toast after 1.5 years !! If you try and look cool with touch countrol at least make the panel work!!!!

Gave me problems from the second month of use,always out of balance and don’t complete the circle. My Samsung lest 10 years and because matag is a big name I made a big mistake to trust them, I want ever buy their product again.

Buyer Be Aware: Poor design(Lid broken after two years )

We have had this washer 3 years to the day. Bought it at Home Depot. The lid broke in the corner where the pin comes in to lock the lid. Very poor design, flawed engineering on their part, and I cannot use the washer at all. To fix it will cost $550, plus will take 2 weeks to get a new lid. I am not fixing it, but I will buy a new washer with fewer plastic parts, and it won’t be a Maytag! Also, the soap dispenser is flawed. You are supposed to fill it up and the washer will only use the amount needed. It always takes all of the amount you put in, and then the dispenser fills with water. Not like the old Maytag from years back!

My disclaimer - I'm venting about my 3 year old Maytag, basically this model 3 years ago (MVWB835DC) purchased from Home Depot, which I have just put on the curb for a give away/parts. Look at the picture and see yourself doing the same with this model in 3 years time. The good - looks like they have addressed some of our major complaints - tub not filling with enough water (now has deep water option), not really getting clothes clean (has extra power button). ***** Buy whatever service plan you can for this (and for as long as you can), you will need it. Sure, you may be without the use of your washing machine while your parts are on backorder, but at least they will be paid for once the tech shows up. The bad - unit failed after 3 years. I'd let it go if it were a minor fix, but the transmission went out. In all fairness, Whirlpool offered to pay for labor. When I found out parts would be over $300 (gear case, $250 and clutch, $65) I decided to kick this to the curb. Apparently it's a popular part given it was on backorder for 3-4 weeks. Just don't expect this to last like your old Maytag. Our previous Maytag lasted 15+ years... bummed that we didn't keep that one longer.

Very disappointed and disgusted, really, that we purchased this washing machine 3 years ago and it now spins out of control and the noise is unbearable-sounding like a jet engine taking off. Before this it was a good machine. We were told now that the repair for the bearings in the gear box are going to cost over 550.00. We bought this unit on sale for almost the same price! I’ve had a Whirlpool before this (bought in 2002)and 15 years later that was still working fine, but I foolishly wanted an upgrade. Now I’m facing buying a new machine after 3 years? So more junk to the landfill? Infuriating! Maytag Customer service never returned my email and when I called, after waiting 20 minutes, they just say “sorry there is nothing we can do”. Why would I buy a Maytag again? Should I replace every 3 years? What a waste! Unacceptable for a company that brags about its longevity.

THIS IS NOT A PROMOTIONAL REVIEW!! I'm looking forward to the day that this machine kicks the bucket and I just got it on Tuesday 9/8. I don't see how they can get away with calling this product energy efficient! I would call it more inconsistent. All the washing and rewashing of loads that have NOT turned out 100% clean is only wasting my time, water, electricity, and detergent. If you have all day to wash clothes, and to babysit your washing machine then this is the washing machine for you!! On one occasion my clothes came out half wet/dry and the softener wasn't completely dispensed either. I went with the bigger cu. ft but I feel like the clothes/towels are getting lost in each other. Oh, and I'm pinching the items and dropping them into the tub as the manual suggested. I have tried playing with different settings for my towels. I've added extra soap to the tub...but I think that only confused it, it got stuck on the sensing part. Then sounded like it was gonna spin right out the door. I did successfully wash 7 dish/hand towels and they smelt downy fresh. Once again if you are only putting 7 dish/hand towels in a 5.3 cu ft washing machine I would expect that. I can't keep washing little baby loads of clothes to get the downy fresh clean smell that I would expect. I got rid of a LG front loader that was leaking out the back but lord it was more reliable than this machine. It washed my clothes, and I knew it would leak!! This machine you wait a hour and pray that you selected the correct wash/spin/soil/fill/ to get a clean load of clothes...and for me that's not often enough. I think it has too many features and it's easily confused. Honestly... a bucket of soap and hot water might be better than this.

I had this delivered and installed by the drivers, They did a fine job getting it in. The only change I made was giving them HD stainless steel braided feed lines to use (HD MODEL # 9WM60P2HEP4) The braided lines last forever and can keep your basement from flooding. This is a beautiful washing machine that anyone could install if they already had the hookup. Its attractive and works extremely well. My only concern was I wanted a front loader so I would have room to wash the comforters off our queen size bed , But with the 5. 2 cubic ft. wash tub they fit in with no problem. The center agitator IMO does much better job of washing the clothes than a front loader as it moves the water and the clothes. A good price for a well built machine that from the looks of it will last a long time.

Delivered this morning. On the very first load we tried, it took two hours as it was stuck at 11 minutes left on the clock, for like 30 - 40 minutes. Kept going back and forth from sensing to rinsing. We tried to pause it, open and closed it, started it again, and it went from 11 mins to 9 mins, then back up to 11 mins! and then stuck again on 11 mins for another 20-30 mins. Finally we pressed power and it cancelled cycle. I was so excited to use it and now im just bummed out and frustrated.

I have owned this washer for several months now. For the most part it seems to do a good job cleaning. However it does have some quality issues. For the past month its been making a strange grinding noise, and has gotten progressively worse. More recently the lid will remain locked after a wash. The controls simply were not functioning. After playing with the control buttons pressing the power off button just made things worse. I found that unplugging the unit that it would reset itself. At the next wash again you would need to unplug it to let it reset itself. The noise was getting worse. At this point as a retired Manufacturing Quality Manager I had to find out for myself just what was wrong. I lifted the washer to tilt it back ... and there it was! The bolt that holds the flywheel or half of the motor had come out. The fly wheel was also hanging down. Upon careful examination the bolt was coated with a blue locking compound. it was started in the hole but never tightened. Using a T30 Torx socket and some 242 locking compound I reinstalled the flywheel. Additionally I checked all of the other hardware and carefully examined the motor / flywheel sensor for damage. Its back up and running. I will continue to monitor the unit. There is another issue with steam on the control panel circuit board during hot washes. I will monitor that situation to see how long it will last before a failure occurs.
