Smart washer
I purchased this machine in 2021. The gears are loud. The other day continued filling with water. It flooded my laundry room. The control board needs to be replaced. This is a $300 part plus labor. It is not covered by Maytag 10 warranty. I will not purchase Maytag appliances in the future. Quality has gone way down.

Run, do not walk, away from Maytag
Like so many one-star reviews that are being buried, I'm telling you that if you buy this after reading the reviews, you deserve what you get. Maytag (whirlpool) is the biggest piece of rusting junk I have ever bought in my life. DO NOT BE FOOLED by the "10 year warranty", before one year was up the bearings had gone out, frame rusting, the electronic board was glitching and running water for over an hour. And guess what? Not covered! $300 for a service charge and nothing covered by warranty.

Washer leak and floor damage after only two weeks
I purchased this machine about 2 weeks ago and had it installed by Home Depot. I was washing a load of laundry and get a notification from the Maytag app that my load completed. Upon entering my wash room I noticed water on the floor that leaked out from the washer. The flooring in an adjacent room was also soaked and the floor is now damaged! Not what I expected from a new ~$1000 washer machine. Now I have to wait until business hours to get assistance from the manufacturer.

Really nice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer works very well. I noticed you do have to stack clothes in there as of there is an agitator or it doesn’t actually wash/clean them. That is the only gripe I have. Otherwise very nice. Large enough for blankets and sleeping bags which is handy.

Love my Washer!

I wanted a washer without an agitator, as I don’t like the way an agitator beats the clothes, but also wanted one that sensed the amount of clothes and saved on water. I wanted. Delicate cycle as well. I found this Maytag Washer and it has everything I wanted and more! I LOVE my new machine!!!

Terrible
literally got it bc was largest in the store. We have 3 kids. It’ll only let you wash a tiny bit of clothes or else itll say you have to rearrange & restart. Once it does that, it’s done. You can try to start it 100 diff. ways(removing some, doing another setting, changing speeds?).so then you’ll be forced to resort to putting a SOPPING wet load of laundry in your dryer. Then you’ll have to dry it 40 times. Or, even better, you’ll burn up your dryer :)ask me how I know:)horrible.don’t do it!

Junk
I’ve had it less than a month and I’ve needed 2 service calls already, waiting on the 3rd. The washer tries to wash either with NO WATER in the drum, or the drum almost OVERFLOWING. 2nd tech said the wrong water valve was installed at the factory. He also advised to not wash more than a few items at a time and no blankets or comforters because max water is only a couple of inches in the drum. What’s the point of over 5 cf of capacity if you can’t wash more than a few items?

Maytag is NOT what it used to be!
This machine is absolute junk. I purchase one two years ago and last week my motherboard went out (seems to be frequent among these reviews).The extended warranty company is denying me coverage because I took the back panel off to try to troubleshoot per the instructions on Maytag’s website. All of the other reviews that state off balance issues are all true. I will never buy another Maytag again. You would get better results and less headache washing your clothes in a creek.

Quiet and roomy.

Bad Motherboard/Terrible Service
Bought this washer back in 2018 worked great for almost 2 years, then the motherboard went out, could not get parts because of the 2020 pandemic. Finally after 6 weeks and a couple service calls could not be fixed! Got voucher for a new one, Now after 2 years again seems like it is the exact same problem. After a week without a washer still can’t get anyone to come out it’s basically send picture of error message and texting! Terrible washer and most definitely terrible service.

Lid cracked after 18 months.
Once the lid cracks, the entire lid has to be replaced. That $300 plus a service call if $169. I had this washer for 26 months. Terrible product.

Waste of Good Money
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I were excited to get an appliance that was the latest and greatest but turns out this new washing machine is terrible! I have to wash EVERYTHING on the Bulky Cycle and use Deep Fill just to get the dirt out due to the machine NOT using enough water on the Normal Cycle and Auto Fill. I figured this out after showing photos to a Maytag repair technician of the clothes left with tons of dirty spots that looked like someone took lint, wet it and rubbed it all over the clothes. And on top of that, sometimes the clothes get pinched in between the agitator (bottom of drum) and the drum wall and I have to pull the clothes out praying that they don’t rip!

Disappointing Cleaning and damaged clothing
First load was less than clean and had lint on a lot of the clothing. Next load reduced how much clothing we placed in machine and switched from pods to liquid detergent. This load came out better but noticed a few t-shirts our children had received for Christmas looked worn. The next load had some dirty boys clothing so we pre soaked and used deep fill. After washing pulled out a sock that looked like it had not been washed, squeezed it and dirt ran out! How does that happen, disappointing.

Broke after 2 years
Bought the matching Maytag set when we moved into our new home October 2020. The machine does fine with smaller loads, if you need to wash beach towels, bedding, winter jackets it gets off balance. I would have to offset it and restart multiple times throughout one larger washing. This week Feb 2023 I noticed machine cut off and I smelled a chemical/plastic burning smell. Upon inspection the whole circuit board fried! Replacement is $600 when we originally paid $1,000. Not worth the money!

Constantly pauses without notice
Overall it’s fine but it often has a “load balancing” issue. You’ll think the load is done and go to transfer, but turns out it paused 30 minutes ago and it tells you to move the laundry around. Horrible, horrible, horrible problem. Disappointing product.

Maytag Fail
Bought this Maytag XL Bravos in 2016 and it's now irreparable. Had an error message of PF (power failure). Tried the instructions to reset but didn't work. Called repairman out. Replaced control board, motor and power harness. Still not working. Called electrician to check outlet, nope. Upon further research, this model only lasts about 7-10 years, per a Whirlpool distributor. Before spending money on nice appliances, my advice is to go cheaper, no computer sensors, just basic.

Poor quality
I don't normally write reviews, but this washer is far below normal quality. Check out the photo of the lid safety latch. It's right on the front of the lid, so it's going to get a lot of wear and tear, yet the plastic on it is thinner than the penny I'm holding next to it for comparison. Not surprisingly, the original broke almost immediately, and the machine wouldn't run without it. Inexcusable for a brand that brags about quality. I'm stuck with it but you don't have to be.

Maytag the worst
This washing machine is total CRAP!!!
You get a huge tub , and awful results, my clothes come out dirty & loads of soap residue and no I only use a tablespoon of detergent! I actually viewed only a small amount of water being used for a load which makes no sense for such a large tub seriously I have to add 3 homer buckets of water just to get my clothes clean !!!!

Waste of Money and Time
This is the absolute worse washer I have ever purchased and a total waste of money.
1. Repairman was called within 1 month. He stated the washer was out of balance (which happens a lot). The machine continuously stops to rebalance load by adding a little water, but that doesn't ever work. I have to stop the machine and rebalance by hand.
2. The machine balls everything up and then leaves scum on the top piece of clothing.
3. It's noisy. The repairman stated "they make a lot of noise"

Great Top Load Machine
Buy with confidence, this is a great machine. It’s very quite compared to our old Maytag Bravos machine that started to get loud. The Maytag app is great too. We got about 700 washes out of our old machine and if we replaced the bearings could have gotten more use out of it. I like Maytag washing machines and dryers as they have been reliable for us. The features, quietness and reliability make this a great machine and oh yeah, 5.3 cubic feet of space is more than enough for any task.

Do not buy!
Do not purchase if you want to pull out clothes that have gunk and lint all over them. I’ve tried deep water wash and extra rinse. Doesn’t help. Get a unit that has an agitator. See pic.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
This is a piece of junk; this thing has not been balanced since we got it 8 months ago. Customer service has sent out repairmen 3 to 4 times and has replaced some of the parts, waiting for more now, over accouple of months now. We have too manually rebalanced each load at least 5 to 6 times per wash. Now the lid doesn't register that it is closed. I went and bought a new washer yesterday, so there goes $1000 what a waist. So much for name recognition. I am so tired of this and want my money back

Replaced within 7 months of purchase
I was so excited to get this washer after my Samsung washer stopped working. This one worked perfect for the first 7 months (purchased 5/2021, issues started 12/2021). I noticed the drum had dropped about 4 inches when it was washing a load and it was making a horrible grinding noise. After a tech looked at it, Maytag replaced it on 1/21/22. It’s now 2/10/22 and this one is having the same issue as the first one.
