Compressor went out :(
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second LG refrigerator where the compressor went out in under four years. We had purchased an extended warranty, so it was covered, but our experience with LG refrigerators has been disappointing.

    Great service from LG !
    Our LG refrigerator stopped working and we were clueless what went wrong. We contacted LG service center and they immediately sent a technician. Technician John was extremely good at his job, he changed the compressor and upgraded the software and finally fixed the refrigerator in one time . I highly recommend them .

      Bad compressor and computer board
      My refrigerator is only 4 years old and not only did the compressor have to be replaced but the computer board was fried.

          IceMaker Troubles

            In need of repair
            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my refrigerator for about 7-8 years. It worked well for a while, but had issues with frost build up in the freezer. Now it's in need of repair as the water and ice maker stopped working. I was told by an appliance repairman that LG refrigerators commonly have problems. Hoping it's not too complicated or expensive to fix! Will look at other brands in the future.

                Easy to use and store your foods!
                [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this refrigerator for nearly 3 years now (and one of the same LG brand but slightly different model in my previous home) and I love them. Easy to use, great features such as the ice & water dispenser out front, information displays and everything inside stays cold and fresh. The freezer drawer at the bottom is very convenient as well. My only issue is that lately I have been having some condensate collections inside dribbling outside via a gasket. Repair folks are going to be here today to fix it. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

                    Was no good compressor
                    The lg came and put a new compressor for my refrigerator, it was lg manufacturing mess up all my food.

                        Frig and freezer
                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the look and styling of the LG frig. Fits our family of 4 is adaptable based on your needs. The filter can be hard to change and my husband has a tendency to lean on the freezer drawer while open, but I think after 4 years it still looks great. Our compressor went and after I contacted Lg they came out within two days, replaced it and It was all covered.

                              Poor quality

                                Pretty basic mid-level model

The filters have never fit correctly, even buying directly. The water filter doesn’t work well, likely die to filter issues. The location of the filter is inconvenient also.

My grandkids especially love the knock knock door light on the refrigerator . I did not realize that LG made such wonderful fridge Raiders I knew about their TVs but not their refrigerators love it !

                                    Nice features and spacious
                                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased several years but needed to replace "10 year" compressor twice, and Ice maker has always performed inconsistently. Ice maker issue is most likely due to intermittent use so We'll take partial blame for that. Otherwise, the appliance looks good, has plenty of storage and served us well except for the compressor issues.

                                        ice maker problems
                                        I have had service out 3 times to fix my ice maker and it still doesn't work. Now my freezer is not keeping things frozen. I have yet another call into service for ANOTHER repair.

                                            Ice Maker Replacement

Following discussion and exchange of needed information with local repair personnel a plan was put in place. Upon arrival to repair, quick check of reported problems, unit was replaced in short order and unit is operating same as once new. Thank you for the quick service !

                                              Worst ice maker ever!
                                              I bought this fridge four years ago and my wife wants to to buy a counter top ice maker. This is the worst design I have ever seen. It leaks water. It either gives ice (a lot of it, cup full) or it grinds until the ice is a powder. Tried ice plus setting and no real improvement.

                                                Horrible Ice Dispenser
                                                We have had a tech out here three times now and the problem persists. The ice dispenser doesn't dispense! The poor design caused air to get into the dispense area and clump the ice which causes it to jam constantly. Additionally, the doors don't shut properly which causes the alarm to go off all of the time. Don't buy this unit!

                                                  I Want to Love my Fridge!
                                                  I have this unit and loved it at first...the size is perfect and I really like the freezer. My water unit just recently started to gush out water on the inside though and we are just starting to look into repair costs and services. Hoping that LG will extend great service! We've had other refridgerators where the ice/water unit lasted for 12-13 years. we were surprised that this happen to a unit that is 5 years old. We bought an LG because we thought they were top of the line ... we'll see how the servicing goes.

                                                    Stay away
                                                    Stay away from this. Most of the system works but oh the ice maker. Already on my third replacement ice maker and it’s already having problems. They ice tray never fully dumps all the ice so then the water over flows and causes the whole thing to freeze and excess water everywhere. Like I said have already had to order 2 separate ice makers and same thing will eventually happen. Just go a different route with your refrigerator needs.

                                                        5 years with only one “hiccup”
                                                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought unit 5 years ago and have had zero problems until last month when we switched from “crushed” to “cube” ice. That caused ice dispenser to begin dripping water and to form ice chunks (fist size) that stopped the ice production. We went back to crushed ice and the problem was resolved. We will continue in that mode rather than bother with repair hassle. We like this “fridge”!

I only wish the doors offered more space for condiments and sauces and that the water and ice dispenser doesn't work if the other door is open/ opening the door interrupts it.

                                                            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we bought this lovely LGRefrigerator seven years ago for are new home. This was just the right size and it works great. Never a problem then the ice maker stop and seen some water on the floor. It turn out that the compressor stop making cold enough air for the freezer. Thank goodness that the warranty on the compressor was for ten years. We paid for labor that was quite a saving. This still looks like a new refrigerator and good for another ten years plus.What was so special was the fact that we just called the LG and they told us to place the phone up to the refrigerator door. They were able to tell us that it was the compressor that was going out and gave us three numbers of comtractors in the area to do the repairs right here in the house. This is a great service. Thank you.
