Please do not be enticed by the good looks and features of this refrigerator. A couple of quick searches will show you that there are MAJOR issues with their compressors. My story: Purchased this in December 2015. Towards the end of July, 2018 (2 1/2 years) the ice maker was a little drippy at times and it seemed to be cycling the defrost mode a lot (actually it was cutting out from cooling). Talked to LG support and they said to replace the filters and make sure the vents were clear. New filters did not help. We unplugged it when we went out of town for a week to let any possible ice build up in vent lines clear up (there was none). Same issue for another few weeks, then one morning it was 60 degrees inside. That was 2 weeks ago. I have logged many hours with LG support since then and have even been scheduled to have a tech out to fix it, but when the tech didn't show they said the blamed the service provider for canceling (though no one told me). I have talked to many repair shops local to me who refuse to work on LG refrigerators because it makes them look bad. They say it takes a long time to get parts & that there are too many repair calls. I wish I had known that before purchasing as you now know! As it stands, I am going to look into getting onto the class action lawsuit, since it is looking like my fridge will not get fixed. With this type of feedback I will be surprised if Home Depot continues to sell these faulty appliances.

Total junk - DO NOT BUY!!! The refrigerator looks nice and is functional - however, it's noisy and poor quality! After less than 3 years the ice- maker stopped working - you would think a $2700 refrigerator would last more than 3 years without repairs. Customer service is a total waste of time! If you are bent on buying this one at least do yourself a favor and get the extended warranty - you will need it sooner than you think!

        Best Fridge EVER!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We only have our spectacular fridge for two weeks. In addition to the gorgeous black stainless steel on the outside; we are delighted with the functions offered. The ice maker that resides on the inside of the left fridge door, takes up such little room, making space for more fridge items. It is quiet and efficient making perfect cubes or crushed ice. The storage space in the fridge is enormous! The fruit & veggie bins keep those items at a perfect temperature. The full-width deli drawer has lots of room too. The freezer has three separate storage areas so you can organize your frozen items to retrieve quickly. Also, one of the best features with this fridge is the beauty of having stainless steel and not having fingerprints to constantly wipe off! On a scale of 1 to 10, we would give this fridge a 10 and highly recommend purchasing it. You will be in love as soon as it arrives! We even named ours Freeda the Fridge!

Love it except for one thing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love everything about the refrigerator except for the caps on the outside of the doors that are higher than the rest of the refrigerator. We measured everything to make sure it would fit in my kitchen space. Once it was in place I could no longer open the cupboard doors above the refrigerator. They cleared everything until they got to the caps. Caps could't be removed due to the wires that they were covering. Had to remove doors and took them back to the original makers and had to pay a price to have them cut down 1/2 inch. Other than that, I have no complaints.

            Newbie to French Door
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my LG for about a month now. I'm 53 and I've never owned anything but a side by side fridge, so this was totally new to me. The actual refrigerator space is awesome. I love that I can see everything at eye level and it is easy to reach. I leaned towards this model due to the deli and veggie drawers, and it does not disappoint. Many reviews complained about the ice maker; so much that I almost didn't purchase this model. But I haven't had any issues, whatsoever, with it making ample ice...and I use a LOT of ice. I will say that if you are having a large gathering, it could be a good plan to grab a bag of ice; but for day to day use, it makes more than enough and I haven't had any problems. The two CONS for this fridge: One, it stated that it was fingerprint resistant. No way! If you have children, this is not the fridge for you. I'm a little OCD and find myself wiping it down quite often. Two, the freezer space; this doesn't hold anywhere near what my side by side did. I literally could not move all the food from my side by side to this freezer when we installed the LG. Fortunately, I moved my old fridge to the garage and do have a small deep freeze. Without that extra space, I'd be screwed. With that said, I do keep a really stocked freezer and pantry and may have more on hand than most people. If you're the same, you'll want backup freezer space because this just doesn't hold that much. All in all, I really do love this refrigerator and hope that the longevity was worth the price. For me, there was a little sticker shock; but compared to what some French Doors are selling for, this had the most features available in the price range I was willing to pay.

              Great product, great technology!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I owned the deeper/larger model before this one. It was great too! Needed to replace it with a counter-depth refrigerator, so my obvious choice was the same great LG experience in the counter-depth size?!? I love it!!! All of my kitchen appliances have been replaced with LG products and I couldn't be happier with them.....AND my daughter is now replacing her appliances with LG!

No no no, stay away from LG refrigerators. Brought ours from Home Depot 1 and 1/2 years ago. At Christmas time ours went out, lost all cooling, lost all our food we had just bought for the holidays. Lucky for us we bought the extended warranty. Took many phone calls, a month later it was fixed. Now 2 months into the repairs looked at the temperature on the door reading 47 degrees. Took the milk out of the refrigerator and poured it out into the sink with chunks of milk. Exp. March 12 which is today. I also have a Taylor temperature gauge inside to double check the temp from experience. The gauge read 47 degrees. Now we are faced with the same problem. Un believable that a company can sell such a poor product and Home Depot would back it up. So diapointed, PLEASE don't make the mistake we did. I give this a 1 star for how the outside looks, don't be fooled.

                  Love this fridge!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my new refrigerator almost a month and love it! There's tons of storage compartments in both sections and the LED lighting is great! I have a very small kitchen and the countertop depth makes the room a lot more spacious. Items are visible, all the way to the back of the refrigerator.

                        Love our New LG
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this refrigerator two weeks ago. My husband and I are so pleased with it. It is so easy to reach everything with the bright lights, The three vegetable drawers are fabulous. I really like the smaller drawers as I can divide things up and I don't have to be looking for smaller veggies. The one large drawer on the bottom is great for my onions celery, romaine lettuce etc. I am very surprised how much fits in the large freezer. I like the different drawers because I can separate the different types of food and makes it easy to fine. We read a lot of reviews when we were making our decision and what brand of refrigerator to purchase. This refrigerator is so quiet.....I do not understand when people wrote how noisy it was. We almost did not buy due to those reviews. We keep commenting how quiet it is!!!!!!

Replaced subzero in this space. We took the panels out from the subzero and used them to close the top of refrigerator, just like it was built in. Always good to save stuff, this really completed the look with ordering a non matching cabinet. Very happy with the refrig and the end result!! Bob Saul was a terrific help at the home depot In Marlboro New Jersey. We also bought the home depot warranty, why wouldn't you? Great to have the extra protection in case it does break. Spend the money you wont regret it!

Loving our new fridge, but wait...RUST in 2 weeks?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Organization is top-notch on our counter depth armoire fridge. Spacing seems very intuitive and logical. Love the three drawer system in the freezer drawer especially that the top drawer stays shut upon opening. The entire fridge is well lot and so quiet. Cold water and ice through the door dispenser in the middle of our texas Sumer is fantastic! We have been thrilled however, the steel is a bear to clean and hasn't responded well to usual stainless steel cleaning methods. Additionally the biggest issue giving me pause in all of my excitement is a group of rust spots cropping up on the side of stainless steel door of our unit. It was fine upon arrival inspected thoroughly and all was great. But wait...2 weeks in while wiping it down I found RUST??? The spots seem to be growing. Hoping LG has a quick and aimiable solution to this issue.

Our 17 year old ugly white fridge kicked the bucket. After measuring, we realized we needed a "counter depth" fridge, and our options, due to size, were limited. We came across this one and had some reservations about it due to the way the water is in the door...but we absolutely love it! The main lever on the door is for ice and the water lever sits up higher and is more in front, but we haven't had any spills or mishaps yet. This fridge is spacious enough for a family of four, and it has an "Ice Plus" button which makes the ice at an accelerated rate! The ice bin is in the left-hand side of the door and is extremely easy to pull out, and dump excess ice into the bin that LG provides in the freezer. The ability to store extra ice, or to just have the ability to grab ice when we want it, was a huge bonus, as a lot of the French Door fridges don't give you that option. It's great for when you want to scoop some to make a smoothie. The ice maker is pretty quiet too, as we can only hear ice falling into the bin after it's been made, and it's hardly noticeable. There's a split shelf on the right of the fridge for taller beverage items and the LED lighting inside is very pretty. I wasn't happy that the butter tray hood doesn't stay open when you need to grab the butter tray, but now that I think of it, we will avoid mishaps of leaving it open, and the butter tray falling out when we close the fridge door! So...no complaints on this awesome fridge! The delivery guys forgot to turn on our water from behind the fridge, so maybe test that before they leave to avoid having to pull the fridge out!

Our primary concern in this purchase was for the refrigerator to be Quiet. And quiet it is, it runs silent and you barely hear the ice maker working. We compared GE, Samsung, Whirlpool, and the reviews were noisy machines. After one week, no complaints here we love the refrigerator. The lighting makes for a bright clean look inside. Multiple levels inside give us enough space for 4 people. Ice machine provides cube or crushed ice with the water dispenser. After doing our due diligence we are very satisfied with this LG counter depth refrig. LG got it right with this model!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After three months of use this Counter depth refrigerator is just the ticket for our condo. It gives us nearly two cubic feet more of storage but fits easily in the limited space where our old frig was.

After reviewing all the features I was looking for this is the refrigerator I chose. Very happy with it. Love the counter depth feature! It really didn't cut down on much space and you don't lose items in the back of the fridge... everything is easily accessible. I'm sure the French door design and super bright LED lights helps with this also. I was worried about going to a unit with a smaller ice compartment but it hasn't been an issue even once. The only down sides I have found is that the motor does seem to run a little on the noisier than I expected for a new unit...but not so much that it is bothersome. And of course, the fingerprints are an issue, but that would be a case with any stainless steel model. Overall I feel like I made the right choice.

                                          Worst refrigerator I've ever owned
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this refrigerator in November 2014 so I've had some time to live with it. Looks great in my kitchen. Decent capacity for a cabinet depth model. Interior can easily be configured to accommodate different food items. Easy to keep clean. So by now you may wonder why this is the worst I've owned - frost. No, frost isn't accurate, ice. Once or twice a year, ice builds up below and behind the Glide N Serve drawer. The build-up is so severe, it requires us to move out all the food and disconnect the appliance for several DAYS to allow the ice to fully melt from all of the vents and crevices involved. And even then, since the design is meant to be frost free, one cannot be sure all the ice is fully cleared because the spaces are not accessible. I've had repair personnel to my home to trouble-shoot the problem and I was given the answer that the ice accumulates from moisture in the air due to having the door open too much. Open too much? We are a household of 4 adults, 1 of whom is off to college 8 months of the year and 2 of whom are at work each day. We are not in the habit of standing before the open fridge admiring its contents. Why did I never have this problem with other models when the children were small and more likely to stand lost in indecision?? Further, the home is heated in winter, air conditioned in summer, both of which remove moisture from air. And we have no humidifier in place. God help us if we were a larger family with younger children! I'm so thankful for my 30-some year old, energy inefficient Amana that stands year after year faithfully keeping my extra items cold in my basement. This is the workhorse that holds my food while my finicky LG is defrosting, inconveniencing us with running up and down stairs during every meal preparation. Photos below show this latest episode - and this particular time, I've caught it before it really built up badly. Purchase this fridge only if you enjoy defrosting. It certainly is not the frost-free appliance it claims to be.

                                            Good room in fridge
This fridge is good for our family. We have a full size upright freezer in the garage, so we don't need a lot of freezer space. The freezer in this one is okay, but you have to bend down to access things, and you'll end up storing big items on top of each other. It does have a nice drawer on top for flat items, and another drawer in the freezer compartment that slides over the large bin. The top part of the fridge is roomy and open, so oddly-shaped items can be accommodated. The only weird issue is that there are 3 drawers for fruits/vegetables. The middle one is probably where you'd put cheese and coldcuts, but it's pretty small. It works for us. The large, flat drawer in the bottom is okay for storing larger cheese items, and meats. The lighting inside is great, and the water filter is right in the inside top left, so it will be easy to change. The air filter is in the back, and it should also be easy.

LG only wants to give you money or send a new refrigerator. Raking high in the poorest customer service. All units had the same issue, dimples in the stainless at the top fold of each door. All dimples are in the same spot and symmetrical on each unit and both doors. Even floor models at most of the local stores have the same issue. Clearly a production issues…a few hundred off should make you go away LG says. Sorry LG, not paying that much for poor craftsmanship…take some pride in your product. Last straw….LG says lets replace the doors, service shows up (8 hr window) and no doors not what they were told by LG…returned, glad the old one went to the garage. No more LG products ever for me…..

10 mo olg LG $3K refrig rusting !!!!!!!
We have had our LG refrig for 10 months and at months, the outside began to rust. There are rust marks all over the refrig at this point. Not from water or poor environment - we live in a $200K + house with air and heat. No issues with moisture. I have other stainless steel products that are not rusted and I have never had this happen. LG sent rep and they said it is cosmetic and LG will do nothing. Here is direct response from LG on twitter to my problem: These cosmetic issues are not hindering the operation of the machine, and therefore are not covered under the parts warranty. Do not buy this product. I am so upset that we spent $3K on a refrigerator that looks terrible.

                                              LG Counterdepth fridge
The layout is great. Although not as deep as a regular fridge I haven't missed not having the additional space in the back where things get lost. There is plenty of space and everything is within your view, the lighting inside is great and the light at the top of fridge is completely flat so nothing hits it when you are putting tall items away. The air filter at the back is great too. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. My only complaint is that I keep getting frost forming in the freezer even when I adjusted the temperature...not sure why. Also stainless steel is a pain to keep clean..my kiddos are constantly leaving their handprints on the door!

                                              Counter-depth - sort of
The fridge is only "counter depth" if it can be placed truly flush against the wall. Since the instructions specifically state it must have a 2" clearance in the back (and the plug/outlet behind the fridge helps accommodate this by forcing it away from the wall anyway), the refrigerator body (not including the depth of the doors) sticks out 4" from my counter instead of the 6" of my previous fridge. Also, the doors and handles jut out so far that no "passing" room was gained in the entrance to my narrow galley kitchen by buying this refrigerator. In fact, with the depth of the handles considered into the calculation, this fridge sticks out further into the room than my old one did. The only room gained was while the fridge doors are opened. The French doors (or even a side-by-side), while opened, allows for slightly more "passing" room than my previous standard 2-door, top-freezer refrigerator. Aside from that failed purpose of widening the entryway of my galley kitchen (which was the main reason for paying the $1,000 extra to get a "counter depth" fridge), the refrigerator works well. It definitely keeps foods fresher longer. The filter makes the water taste so good that my kids actually drink it and finally stay away from the bottled water I buy for my clients. The space inside the fridge is severely limited, though. The shelves are at least 6" shallower than the shelves on the regular depth floor model. This was to be expected anyway, but one aspect makes this TOO shallow: The center of the back wall of fridge juts into the shelving space, making it very difficult to slide items over when putting in more groceries. Once something is near or touching the back of the fridge, it has to be moved forward toward you before it can be moved toward the center of the fridge. This sometimes means rearranging the contents of the fridge (even when it's not very full) in order to simply move an item over. If you have a gallon of milk in the back, you can't move it towards the center to gain more room next to it - the milk must be moved forward to accommodate the wide back-wall protuberance which runs down the center of the fridge like a spine. When moving the milk in front of this spine, you lose a lot of storage space. The only remaining space in front of the gallon of milk once it's in front of this large center protrusion are small items which fit nicely in the small door pockets anyway. Therefore, this space is completely lost. The center bracket bars which are mounted to this wide spine and which allow for the adjustments of the shelves on both sides of the fridge limits this moving/storage room even more. As for the door pockets, the large pocket on the right door is great for a gallon of milk, however they have divided the space so that the milk fits BEHIND other small items (or just the flimsy plastic divider if you don't put anything in front of the milk). This is just wasted space and breakage waiting to happen. A full gallon of milk is pretty heavy for my kids and I to have to lift over and carefully insert behind a thin piece of plastic (and heaven forbid if there's a tall ketchup bottle placed in the "convenient" divided area in front of the milk). I guess this slot is for soda-pop cans, but put in anything taller than that and you've effectively blocked your easy access to the milk, whether it's a heavy full gallon or not. Removing this plastic divider enables the milk and other items to slide all over the too-deep shelf when opening & closing the door. Speaking of opening & closing the doors, they seal well, but they are very loud and slam when they close. Any items in the doors rattle very loudly at this harsh jarring, and so it echos throughout the house. I've even removed the small glass jars in the slots and used plastic items, and they still rattle so loudly as the doors slam shut that I can hear it at the other end of the house. For the first few weeks I had to run and check to see if my kids were taking out their anger by slamming the refrigerator doors (they weren't). The slamming noise even makes my guests jump when I'm closing the doors while they're nearby. I have not noticed the compressor being too loud as others have mentioned. I only noticed it was loud when the fridge was first plugged in - it was loud for only about 36 hours and then quieted down once it was completely cooled and groceries were put in it. I can hear the compressor occasionally, but it's still quieter than my old fridge. Finally, the icemaker seems to work fine. I have not yet noticed any melted/refrozen ice jams as reported by others, but it's still cool outside and not yet summer - the house is still cool and the ice isn't being used much, yet. I can hear the icemaker working, but mine does not make as loud a noise as other commenters mentioned when it dumps and refills the cube tray.

This product is very sleek and well designed with great features you will love it
I love the LED lighting and the sleek design. The doors are well designed and very easy to open and close. There were some reviews concerning the ice maker not producing enough ice. This has not been a concern of mine, it works fine for my spouse and me. I love the open door alert and fresh air filter replacement alert. I have only had this product about a month, so far so good.

This product has a very nice appearance inside out.
The product immediately cooled so it gave me the opportunity to place my food products back into a fridge after my original one broke down. The lighting on this lg fridge is amazing and the space is intelligently designed.
