I purchased this LG over-the-range microwave microwave for my upgraded kitchen on June 19, 2011 and thought it will work with no problem for many years. Well, I was just shocked when my microwave just died completely on November 4, 2012, which is simply one year and a few months from purchase!!! It was not a cheap brand and a cheap model and extremely disappointed with this loss.

I had to install the oven to recirculate. The air vents upwards against the cabinet door above the oven which I'm nervous that it will affect the cabinet finish over time. The 10-year warranty on the LG Magnetron is what convinced me to select this brand. I have had 2 previous microwave ovens have magnetron failure in 4-5 years.

Really nice microwave, love the warming features and extra space, very happy with it.

I had this microwave 2 weeks and it quit working. I had the repairman from LG out 3x. 1st to replace circut board, quit again, 2nd replaced the fan, quit again, 3rd replaced handle and finaly the 4th time was told the fan was melting. This microwave was so hot inside it would have burned you. LG is finally sending a replacement, hopefully its not the same one. I have been without a microwave for 3 weeks now...and counting.

The buttons have to be pressed and held. My old micro I could just tap the buttons and go but these require a bit a pressure and it must be held for a bit for the touch to be registered. Also, kinda noisy. The turntable makes an knocking noise. But it seems to work well. But I would probably choose another unit because of the annoying buttons.

Only had it a month so far. Arrived and set up by deliverymen very quickly so that was good customer service. The microwave works fine so far. My only complaint is the microwave door opens and closes a little rougher than my old one which was smoother and not as loud. I also noticed that this LG microwave does not have as many functions like my old GE Profile. I can't program a scheduled time for the night light, it take a few more buttons to heat up favoriate items, and you can't customzied as many preset cooking items, there is no timer, and the overall user friendlyness of this microwave is not as good as my old GE Profile.

We began looking for a replacement OTR after our 15 year old Maytag failed. We read countless reviews of what was available, we narrowed our search to a handful of models where the LG model leading the field. After some legwork to get hands on time with the models we decided on the LG. Best Buy provided us with the best price at the time. Due to some issues that Best Buy had with LG our delivery was postponed a few weeks. Our primary usage for the microwave is to heat up frozen vegetables or reheat leftovers. The first five weeks we were satisfied with the OTR additionally we were extremely happy with how quiet it was. Nearly 3 weeks ago it stopped being quiet, three days later it stopped working!!! Scheduled a service with LG's technicians for the first available appointment which was 12 days after the OTR failed. 1st service call The service repair technician informed me that these microwaves run HOT often needing a couple of internal sensors replaced. Once the sensors were replaced the tech ran the microwave for a short time before he discovered that either the magnetron or transformer was bad. He told me that we should leave the microwave unplugged and that we should NOT use it until the 2 parts were replace. Once he got back to the shop he would order the parts and would schedule a second service.

It has a nice exterior that is easy to clean, many options, and heats food quickly. The light is very good and the fan works fairly well, but not like a hood.

I cannot comment on the performance of the microwave. I returned two because the door on both microwaves I received was defective as soon as you took it out of the box. The door rubs against the main part of the microwave when you open it and makes a loud noise when you open and close the door. Save yourself time and pick out something else.

So far it's great, nice size and quiet. I live in a windy area and I can hear the vents open and close never noticed that before. Great microwave

Easy installation , though it should come with some metal tape to seal up the vent. features are easy to understand built in sensor is great. Over all a very good purchase

I've tried just about everything I can think of related to leftovers and this microwave reheats perfectly! Pizza comes out oven fresh, veggie’s are crisp, steak is still cooked well, and pasta even comes out moist. I was shocked at how well it reheats because our old microwave gave you the option of still cold or over cooked. I like the way it looks, install looked relatively easy, though we had it professionally installed, and controls are intuitive. We have also had zero issues despite what you might think based on the customer reviews from various store websites. I get the impression only those with bad experiences actually leave reviews. I would definitely recommend this microwave!

I have purchased two over the range microwave ovens. the first one went bad after the two year extended warranty. I could not produce the sales slip and they would not do anything. Like a fool we purchased another similar oven and had the same results. The magnatron was replaced this time. The oven failed again and we took it back to the repair man and he got it to run and again it failed to run. The repairman submitted forms to an LG rep indicating it was not a repairable unit. I heard nothing back from LG. I called them and got the run around --they indicated that I could go through the process again but would not gaurantee that they would make it good. So I would give LG zero stars, but to rate it you have to put up at least one star

How much time can you afford to take off from your work to help this company fulfill there warranty? Warranty 3 weeks and counting? It functions but has error code for other functions.The door closes but rubes against the body of the oven on the hinge side. Warranty..."in house on the schedule of the repair service"...typically a block of time...not convenient for the customer. I would have preferred to remove and returned to the store on my time instead of the "convenient in home service." Now I am still waiting for the parts to come in and schedule the next block of time for the installation of the repair parts. Hope it fixes the problem especially after taking off time from work twice to accommodate the end fix.

We have only had this model for a few days but I wanted to write an early review based on what we know right now. Things might change in the future and then I will repost. First of all, it is working and that makes us happy, since it is our replacement for the one we just took back of a different model. I am disappointed the door on the microwave is not the same color as shown in the pictures on Home Depot's or LG's website. We came close to taking it back because of this. There was not suppose to be white on the glass on the door and there is. This is where the darkest black was suppose to be along the outside of the door. I don't understand why we pick something out and it comes with a different look. Fortunately, these colors work for my kitchen. I also noted the slightly misaligned door as noted by other reviewers along with the black venting on the bottom. Overall, it seems to be a good microwave at this point and as for the rest, I have high hopes for this model and look forward to high performance and endurance.

We ordered the LG over-the-range microwave in black from homedepot.com and it was delivered free of charge the next day. We spent quite a bit of time researching and found this was the best OTR microwave that fit our budget and size specifications. It was installed by a private contactor 2 weeks ago with no problems. The lights that shine down onto the stove top are plenty bright and the microwave overall functions beautifully. We are very happy with this purchase.

I just love this microwave. It is quiet, and cooks quickly.

This replaced a 12 year old GE Profile that had 3 repairs in that time. Our other GE products are falling apart also. The sensor cooking is perfect. The people that said this scratched easy or came scratched probably did not take the protective shipping coating plastic that looks like it has scratches. I was angry at my husband for no reason until I saw the plastic film was still on. He had no problems installing. You do not need to buy a bracket or anything. It all is in the box. HD price matched Best Buy but would not "Meet & Beat". It costs $10 more for the 4 year warranty at HD than Best Buy.

We bought this to replace an 11 year old over-the-range microwave. This fit perfectly in the space and the installers only took about 15 minutes to get it installed. (I think if we had done the install it would have taken a big longer, but no big deal). The microwave has a number of features our old unit did not have including excellent sensor cooking functions. The fan is rather noisy, but this has been true of every vent fan we've ever had. Overall very pleased with this microwave.

Home Depot S Dartmouth, MA went above and beyond to help me resolve my issue w the black bottom of the microwave. LG customer service was useless. Thank you Home Depot! I'll be back !

Much faster than my old microwave. Love the sensor cook feature

Only a month old but Ok so far. Turn table is a little loud and the interior is harder to clean due to the interior walls not being flat. Door is a pull open design, not push a button, so its hard to be quiet while closing. Other than these minor things I am happy with it. Cooks faster than my old one too!

This Micro is very good. It replaced a several year old Sharp. It appears to work very well. The quality, while not a super-high-end feel, feels very good and decently priced.

The auto-setting offers are nice. I'd buy it again.

I purchased this Microwave because of its looks and the great reviews I found. After the microwave was installed I saw it had a black base, not white like every picture on the internet represents. It also had a visible blemish on the control panel over the display. I called LG and asked that the control panel be replaced and the base be changed to a white one like it was supposed to be. The LG technician brought out a new control panel and after checking several he determined they all had blemishes so we settled for one that had a blemish over the keypad instead of the display as it was less visible. He also said he couldn't find a part number for the white base and told me I needed to call LG back. After several weeks of LG people looking into it I was told yesterday that they don't have a white base and there wasn't anything they could do about it. I asked if they would at least change the picture to better represent what the microwave looks like and was told "I wish we could but it's a marketing thing". So be forewarned the microwave has a black base which causes the entire look to be different than a solid white microwave. The unit does perform well - no complaints there but I will send it back to get one that goes with my kitchen as I don't have any black accents on any of the appliances.

Purchased this LG microwave because the bottom was white. We have an all white kitchen. Came in with a Black bottom so you see about 2" of black in front. Not white like picture shows. Waiting for LG to correct it.. been over 2 weeks no return call. Pic is misrepresented. It is a quiet microwave.

i bot this thing about a year ago and it broke after one use what a piece of juck!

Comes with everything you need to do self install, NO need for any additional parts to do it yourself. Its VERY quiet, fan works great and it looks terrific!

I like the unit but wish it had a (add 1 minute feature). This is less than a week old but it is a nice unit and would recommend.
