Very good value for quality, quiet and quick.....I'm happy with LG microwave!

The door is wonky, but the carousel is our issue. It squeaks like the Tin Man. We had it replaced once under warranty and now it is doing it again...no longer under warranty. $$$$

I have had this microwave for over two months now and so far I really like it. The display panel took a little getting used to, but I'm happy with the features it offers. On my last microwave, I normally just cooked everything at full power or used the defrost feature. I do like the sensor cooking on this model and I think, when used, it doesn't overcook the food compared to just cooking it at 100%. The defrost feature works better, too, and doesn't cook the edge of my meat like my last model would occasionally. Sometimes it takes longer to reheat or defrost items but then it doesn't overcook it either, so I'm ok with that. The lights on the bottom are nice and I like how bright they are. When food is cooking, I have noticed that steam comes out the top and can blow onto my cabinets, but if I turn on the fan, it will blow the steam forward, so I normally use the fan whenever I'm cooking something for more than two minutes to avoid any moisture build-up on the cabinets. I do recommend getting an extended warranty for any appliance these days. Nothing seems to be really built to last and buying the warranty is still cheaper than replacing the item.

The door never closed very well, it always clunked when you opened and closed it. Functionally, it worked perfectly. Christmas 2013, went to open the door as usual and the entire stainless door pulled right off. The interior door is attached to the exterior stainless door with several plastic grommets that just failed. It was out of warranty, but after some complaining to executive services, 877-543-8325, they agreed to fix it. They authorized a local service agent to order the replacement door and install it, but it took a couple of weeks. Annoying to do without a microwave and it will probably happen again in another two years. If I had it to do over again, no LG. I doubt they will cover this when it inevitably fails again.

I bought this model solely because of the advertized "quiet fan" feature, and am disappointed that it does not deliver in that regard according to my expectations. It is probably a bit quieter than the Sharp that it replaces, but it is not easy to carry on a conversation while the fan is on (even at 'low' setting). Otherwise, it seems like a nice appliance. The microwave operation itself is very quiet, perhaps the quietest microwave that I have ever heard. The reheat feature and 'cooking sensor' work very well, and I enjoy using them, although they were not the reason for choosing this model. The lighting of the cook-top surface below is pretty good (much better than in my previous unit), and the installation was easy. I'll hold my final verdict until I get a sense of its longevity. Some of the other comments here make me worry, but I wonder if that may be due to commenter bias (that people are more prone to express their disappointment than satisfaction with the product).

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do and looks good while doing it. Cons: Has a cheap feel to it and the turntable makes it noisy even when seated properly.

We just had our kitchen renovated and purchased this LG model LMV1813ST Microwave Hood Feb 2013, just a few weeks after the warrently expired it stopped working. We assume the magnatron blew as it no longer heats but all the other functions work. It's unfortunate that it lasted such a short time, I've had $99 microwaves that have lasted years through college and after.

It works great! We haven't had it very long, but it seems like it will last for a while. The buttons weren't as simple as our last microwave, but it has more features and I am getting used to it. I like it.

Everything works as expected. The heating, the vents, & the lights work fine. The only thing I would say is that I wish the venting function was a little quieter, but it does seem to move a lot of air.

This microwave is terrible, the first one I bought, out of the box couldn't even boil water. Returned it and got another one. The new one overheated and melted a thermal fuse inside around thanksgiving time, making bacon. Under warranty, was fixed and then 1 year later the same thing happened. Was fixed again and about 1 year later it happened again. Needless to say very displeased. Contacted LG and they said we were not eligible to receive a new microwave because, we were out of warranty. Obviously they don't stand behind their product and obviously this product had problems from the start. As for the ratings, Features/Quality/ Value received their respective ratings because it doesn't work. Energy efficiency received its rating because it doesn't use any energy since it doesn't work. Bought a Whirlpool today to replace this, it was also cheaper.

2 1/2 year old microwave without heavy use and it stopped working, of course warranty only good for 1 year, cost to repair is $115 to $229. might as well throw it away, very disappointed in this product.

Outstanding performance and features. I am still learning as it has a lot more features than my old one. A feature I really like is the ability to add or subtract time on the fly. Very handy.

The product has all the microwave features that I needed and am pleased with its performance after 2 months in service. I was especially looking for a good exhaust for external hookup and this unit fit the bill very well. I am very pleased with the exhaust performance and multiple fan settings. The microwave operation is quiet and I like the multiple light settings. I am very pleased with the unit and would recommend it.

Really quiet, cooks fast and efficiently, nice looking. Pleased so far.

Microwave wasn't ideal choice but great value for price we got unit for. Heating up food takes longer than old unit we replaced. Does look nice and has ton of features some of which we might not use but nice to have options. Skeptic on product based on other reviews about durability but at price an based on all other appliances being LG, was our choice.

I bought this model online specifically since it has the "QuietPower vent system." I have to say the vent fan is very loud. It's much louder than my 15+ year old microwave that was being replaced. It's too bad there is no way to check this ahead of time, even in the store. When the microwave is running, it's very quiet. The ventilation fan even on a low setting is very loud. I have open concept living room/kitchen and you can't really have the fan on when watching TV, etc. The venting is very strong though, which is good, just way louder than expected.

Wow! Well this was all excellent until it up and quits after making popcorn. purchased 2 years ago 11/11. No power what so ever. all the breakers were checked plug ins. everything! DEAD!! I am so upset. just hoping the rest of my appliances last. So bummed. I was very pleased with the microwave. Maybe I just got a lemon.

I have had this microwave oven in service for about 14 months. Recently, when I was cooking high moisture food (baked potatoes, soup) steam from the cooking gets between the two glass panes of the door and makes white streaks down the glass. It is impossible to clean. I contacted LG who told me that I would need to have a service call to clean the door. Ridiculous! There must be a design flaw that allows steam to get trapped inside the door. I am not paying $200 for a technician to come clean the door. Otherwise, the microwave is OK. Cheap build (but not cheap price). Lights are dim, fan is noisy. Won't be considering LG again for appliances as I remodel my kitchen.

LG makes pretty good products. Easy instructions to install and it really was pretty easy. The only downside when setting up the electricity is that it didn't give any specific usage details. It calls for a 15 or 20 amp dedicated line. I went with 20amp just to make sure it didn't trip the circuit. Even the electrician couldn't find the info.

This LG microwave has great features. Custom sensor cooking for potatoes, butter, and popcorn all work flawlessly!! Microwave can retain timer countdown while cooking food (good standard feature). Great product so far (had for 1 month).

Read most of the reviews: 5 stars at the beginning and 1 star after a few months use even a few days after I have a fridgedaire purchased 7 years ago. It is still working but looks too old and greasy. I wanted to buy another fridgedaire but it is around 500 bucks so I got this one during the black Friday sale. I won't expect too much. Hopefully it can last at least two years.

I love my new LG Microwave. The longer I have it, the more features I use. The fan is so quiet--does not disrupt conversation in the direct area. It's also attractive with great features. This is the best over the range microwave that I have had. It is and will be a great help for those holiday dinners coming soon. I look forward to a long and happy relationship with this special LG Microwave!

I bought an entire LG kitchen a little over a year ago.this micro wave just stopped heating. The dish washer has been repair at least 5 times under warranty yes but it's not worth the wasted time.the overnhas been repaired once. DO NOT BUY LG !

Very quiet. Easy to use. Looks GREAT! Love the fan speeds and the features. Easy to Clean. Just LOVE IT!

I bought this 2 years ago because of it high power air extraction. The fan has 3 settings: noisy, noisy, and noisy. Sadly none of the settings seem to move a lot of air. About a year ago it developed an intermittent rattle when the fan is on - just in case the fan noise wasn't noisy enough already. Recently the sensor cooking has stopped working (the dreaded "F-4" message). So would I recommend this product? Perhaps... to my worst enemy.

After 14 months the sensor cook function quit. Now after 22 months the whole thing quit. Numerous problems with several LG appliances.

Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing! Worked great until 17 months after purchase, died for no reason. Repair not worth it out of warranty. Won't ever buy an LG appliance again!

Worked great for 7 months then it just died. Yeah it's under warranty but what a hassle.
