The smoke detectors are easy to set up and works great as regular smoke detectors, BUT the Kidde Remote Lync bridge and the alerts to your smartphone is not operational. Kidde will not start production until the end of 2019 if ever. They are putting people on a waiting list and will contact you when parts are available. I think Kidde may need to offer a refund, an extended warranty and an apology.

So far, no issues. Easy to install.

Our 10 year smoke detector lasted all of 3 weeks before it started chirping again. In the middle of the night again. Also the green light never went on. No light ever came on, green orange or red. Did I have a AC power issue, not sure, but if so there should have been a light on the box telling me so. Stay away from Kidde.

no muss no fuss bought 5 total for ur house a combination of hard wired with 10 yr lithium backup and 10 yr lithium only they install easily they connected to one another easily and work well with no flase alrams...good product that does what they say it will

almost as easy to install as instructions say

The description of the product was s not misleading. I thought it would be hardwired (120 VAC) with a battery. There was no hardwire. Battery only. Still it seems to work fine. We’ll see if the battery lasts 10 years.

These installed and worked perfectly. No false alarms, and the wireless interconnect synched up flawlessly over nine units (some combo smoke/CO; others smoke only; mix of AC wired and battery powered). Clean, elegant design too (after all, you have to *look* at these every day for years!)

The electrician installed these for us and we linked them ourselves. Very very easy to operate!

Very easy install as was the programming

Well pleased with this product.

Installation and function of this unit is easy. Connecting it to a series of the other Kidde Wire-Free Interconnect units (something I needed to comply with local residential code) took less than a minute. I like the fact that Kidde offers these interconnect units also as a combo Smoke/CO partnering product. You can get these as battery operated too and use them as a set, but my local code needed to have these powered by the 120V utility line 24/7. This was a cost-effective way to meet the requirements. The only down side is that the RemoteLync Bridge unit that would make these Apple HomeKit compatible / mobile connected isn't on the market until Fall 2018, so if you need notifications on your mobile device you can wait a few more months and add it later - or you'll have to turn to a more expensive competitive product that provides combo Smoke/CO as the only option. (I did NOT want CO detection everywhere - especially in my utility room less than 6 ft from fuel-burning appliances.) I also like the fact that these go into a dark mode when they sense ambient light/evening - the glowing-ring status turns off and a barely discernible flicker is the only indicator it's operating; I have these in 3 bedrooms and they do not pose a distraction from sleeping. On a comical note, these are the most 'polite' and clear speaking smoke detectors I've ever heard. Initiating a Test tells you 'this is going to be loud' and counts down to let you step away to protect your ears. Overall, I commend Kidde for making the full product line and giving consumers the option of smoke vs. smoke/CO and line power vs battery instead of a 1-size fits all approach. The only thing holding back a 5-star rating is the RemoteLync Bridge device in their feature-set marketing isn't available yet for purchase to add mobile alerts and allow you to name the location of each detector to locate the source of the trigger faster.

I installed 2 of these in my house and 3 in my neighbor’s house. The reason I chose these wireless interconnect hard-wired units over less expensive hard-wired units with a wired interconnect is the age of our houses. When our houses were built, simply put, only one hardwired interconnect detector was required on each level. For me that meant 2 detectors in a 2400 sq-ft 4-bedroom house with a full basement. I wanted to add a couple of more interconnected units, but running additional wiring was not an option. With these Kiddie units I can easily expand coverage with detectors powered with the 10-year battery our state requires and which will interconnect wirelessly with my new hardwired detectors. Having a 10-year battery in all the detectors, not just the battery-powered units, is just icing on the cake. My neighbor wanted to replace an existing ceiling-mounted CO detector, as well as really old smoke detectors, so I suggested installing a replacement combo smoke and CO alarm with the wireless interconnect and powered by the 10-year battery to augment the other new detectors. They have all been working flawlessly for several months. These hard-wired units have a raised bump on the back which can make it more difficult to fit them into an existing ceiling box with all the wiring, the connector pigtail and wire nuts. The battery-powered units have no bump and will flush-mount to whatever flat sirface you choose. I found powering on and setting up the wireless interconnect to be really easy ... as long as you read ALL the instructions in the Quick Start Guide first. Kiddie tells you to do this in bold letters on the cover of the QS guide. Those instructions are brief and straight forward. For detailed instructions and specs they include a separate guide book. What is not mentioned in my guides is electrical safety if you have to replace existing incompatible connector pigtails, which carry live 120 volt AC. If you are not sure how to shut off the power to these connectors, or are not comfortable with installing the new connector, get help.

I purchased and installed (16) of these detectors in a clients home. The alarms sounded erroneously on second day after installation. They sounded erroneously on numerous occasions after that. I removed the units and am still waiting on a response from Kidde

Summary: It works, but it was a frustrating first two days with a new product that still needs hardware and documentation improvement. Initial set up was not overly difficult, but the requirement not to hardwire until after wireless network set up are too late in the instruction booklet. One of the four units I received failed the first day (constant blaring siren/alarm), so maybe better Quality Assurance is still needed. Home Depot customer service took care of providing a refund/replacement quickly and easily. Finally, after the connection was lost to the failed unit, several of the other units (I have battery powered version, too) experienced the expected connection lost and entered a fault state (amber light warning). It was difficult to figure out how to reset the units that had a fault listed and re-establish the network with one fewer unit. Holding the button for three beeps to initiate the reset (Step 9.3A) worked, but it did not lead to Step (9.3B), as the instruction booklet indicates. I initiated and canceled a test, and then the units started searching for the network (which succeeded). The documentation booklet did not describe this and I expected to make a call to Kidde customer service and return more lousy units before I stumbled upon this solution.

great product, but the huge bump sticking out of the bottom of the unit makes it that you have to have a box in the ceiling to mount it to. I was told this unit is either battery or 120v. Which is not the case. Its 120v with a battery back up. Which is great but I had an install I needed both and they needed to be wireless also. Its works but not the way I was led to believe. Wireless feature is easy to set up

It has been over a month and I still can’t get the units to stop beeping. One beeps, I reset unit, all ok, then The next day another one beeps, reset, repeat. They also have not been able to automatically “find” all the detectors via the built in WiFi.

Very easy to set up. I had an issue but it was more to my poor installation skills than anything with the device. The customer service rep was extremely helpful
