Product is well made with one exception. The plastic ferrule around the sink overflow opening was distorted when I unpacked the shipping box. This was a manufacturing defect and not a shipping problem. I contacted Kohler online and was notified that I would receive a replacement ferrule within a week at no charge.

Helpful Reviews for a Fairly Good Product
22 years ago I installed three of these Farmington sinks into granite vanity counter tops. I'm replacing all three sinks because two of them have rusted around the overflow opening. Fortunately, these sinks are still available and are a much better remedy than trying to get them refinished. Most of all, I am grateful that other reviewers went to the trouble to describe these problems and to offer suggestions on how to prevent them from happening again. This includes inspecting each replacement before accepting them for delivery. Every other Kohler product I have used in 40 years of renovating houses have performed excellently. It always pays to read the reviews and I appreciate Home Depot offering these real-world reviews to its customers.

Hi BPMurphy, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to learn about your experience with the Farmington cast iron bathroom sinks. Rust around the drain or overflow ferrule is caused by the deterioration of the sealant/caulk or improper installation. In this situation, the deteriorated sealant/caulk develops fine cracks and gaps. Water seeps underneath the caulk, oxidizes, and forms a rust line along the opening of the drain. If left unattended, the rust can affect the enamel finish, causing corrosion, cracking and chipping. I brought 3, one of them has bad sharp of sink hole, not circular!!! And cause leakage because circular drain does not fit.
Have to extra paste to seal it.
For those do DIY at home, this defect is costly.
