This timer is exactly what I needed. I had an earlier model from the same company, and it worked beautifully for years, but when the dates for daylight saving time were changed the old timer couldn’t be adjusted. This one handles the new dates just fine. Just set it and forget it. I love it.

A little more than I needed, but it does the trick. Got this to get an oil/ fin heater going in the bathroom in the morning during the winter time. I only needed two of the 28 timer settings; one to turn on and one to turn off. Can be set to auto (your program), manual or random. The programs allow for a multitude of settings such as one day, mon. thru fri. or weekend. I like that I CAN turn the heater on/off with the on/off switch even when the auto(programmed) mode is on. This is especially nice for the weekend when I'm not getting up early and can turn the heater on without upsetting my weekday programming. Programming is simple enough. I will say it does require one program each to turn the item on and off. It can't be done in just one program. In other words each number is a function. I use the number 1 program to turn the unit ON and the number 2 program to turn the unit OFF. On and off can't be done with just the number 1 program. Only have the use for one plug for the heater, so I can't speak of the operation with two items plugged in. And I have no use for turning a heater on randomly so can't speak of that, though I could see how using the random function for turning lights on and off would be useful, but I wouldn't be buying a heavy amp timer just for lights (unless you're turning on some high watt flood light?). Have only had it for a month or so at this point so can't speak of longevity, but so far so good!

The one I had ordered previously was just too complicated for me to follow, so I exchanged it to this one. Print on instruction pamphlet small and difficult to follow. I scanned them and increased the font, making it a lot easier to follow directions. After that, no problem setting it up in spite of my being 87 years old. I purchased an Intermatic because my previous "Intermatic" was over 15 years old and the batteries went dead. The logical thing to do was to upgrade and stay with Intermatic since it has been so reliable. Thank you Intermatic.

Great timmer works well. takes a couple of attempts to program.

Used it to set dusk to Dawn setting. Also has time zone specific settings as well as changing sunrise and sunset timings. No more having to change timings regularly.

Nice to update older timers with ones that need pretty much no hands-on after they are installed. These newer ones take into account daylight savings time and sunrise/sunset. They also have battery backup. The down side is an extremely challenging time to program these and can be frustrating ... but they do have a place to call and are helpful if needed. I considered knocking down the overall rating based on how hard it was to program but decided that once programmed, I probably will never touch it again.

My old one died after about 10 years. Hopefully the new one lasts longer.

I purchased this mainly because of the Amp load it will handle and because it has battery backup to remember the schedule if the power goes out. I have it starting a small window AC unit. It was fairly difficult to set up and difficult to modify the settings, but it works well.

The timer works great once you figure out how to program it. Took a few times to get it set to my needs. I would recommend this timer.

The timer instructions a bit confusing but onceI overcame that the timer works Great.

There is a bit of a learning curve setting this up but it's well worth the effort. Once you get the programming down setting up multiple on and off events is a great feature. I have two of these set up.

Hard to program but once programmed has worked great

Much easier to use than the original. The extra outlet and a daylight savings setting are nice features. Ordered online since these are not stock items. Price changed lower right after I ordered it but Home Depot Customer Service counter would not honor it since this was a special order.

This timer took several tries to get programmed. Very poorly made. Dial moves erratic. I was ready to return them but decided to give it one more try to program them. This time it worked so I kept them. Would not purchase them again.

Found the timer hard to setup. I'm 73 years old and these old eyes could hardly see the tiny, tiny displays. I'm also an ex-computer programmer but the setup instructions were hard to follow. All I wanted was a timer with a three prong plug.

Instructions are well-written, hold onto the instructions for when you need to change the program.

Purchased to use in outdoor low voltage transformer. Working perfectly. Simple operation but difficult to program first time.

I love this timer for its flexibility and easy of programing. For the negative reviews "hard to program", I recommend that you draw up a chart with all your on-off times for each event and programing becomes very easy.
