Perfect match for the kitchen!
Great buy and perfect for our kitchen countertop! Although I had to rewire for 40 amps it was well worth the price ! Very satisfied !

Hate it.
I don't know about the other reviews, but keeping this cooktop clean is a headache. I almost do not want to use it because I dread the clean up afterwards. If you spill any food whatsoever on this stove, you have to use ceramic cleaner and a scrubby, then numerous paper towels to eventually buff it all off. What a pain. I will take my old stove over this any time. It was ceramic, too, but could still use plain ole soap and water to clean it. I don't know about others-but I don't like a greasy residue left on my stove overnight-which is what this stove does.

heat up fast
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heats up fast. Has a power boil that is really fast. Looks great. Easy to clean. GE even sent a cleaning kit which included a scrub pad and cleaning agent.

Love GE Appliances
I had this cook top not for a year and it broke 3 times already, it breaks a lot for me and my family because we obviously love to cook all the time (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) so we had to replace it all the time, now were thinking of something more sturdy. it does its job great :) I would recommend this to you buyers out there but just don't put to much or heavy cooking items on top, it may break like mines. Its not really that easy to clean, tried to use a spray clean on it and it doesn't really work either??? Another thing is, its bad to swipe the pot/pan across the cook top because it leaves scratches too.

Double Burner is hard to control
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the first cooktop unit with the house. Within a few months the double burner would stay on high whenever turned on. The entire unit was replaced at no cost to me. The second unit did the same thing. I bought and installed a replacement burner. It does better but still goes from warm to extremely hot with the slightest adjustment. Buyer beware.

good stove top
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we had the coil type electric top in the past it was good but not that good. we found this at a local place for good price. installed our selves no hassles or issues. use it on a daily basis. family of 4+ cleans very easy. love the hot lights to let you know what burner is still hot. would buy another in the future.

Excellent
Had this cooktop for 17 years and loved it. It has worked great but just wanted an upgrade to a knobless as I was updating my counter tops. Found it very easy to clean but as with all glass tops you have to polish to keep from smearing. Suggest a little Dawn and rinse then buff with paper towels. (If needed)

Nice cooktop
I've had the cooktop for a couple weeks now, and I'm not sure that's enough time to judge an appliance like this. Given that, it's a good looking item. I wasn't sure I'd like the mottled finish vs. something completely glossy. Now I see a glossy finish would show every smudge. I didn't realize going into it that there are special cleaners for it, but it's easy to do and it looks nice. The elements heat well. The power boil heats pretty fast. I'm not sure how it's supposed to work since it's not mentioned in the instructions. Overall, after two weeks, I'm happy with it.

Overall a good value
This cooktop looks great, and was not hard to install. I was a little shocked, however, when I read the instruction manual and found that it is not recommended for use with cast iron pans. Many advanced cooks love their cast iron pans, as does my wife, and this disappointed us. No reason was given--do they not heat as well, or do they damage the surface of the cooktop? Anyway, we are using cast iron pans and they seem to work satisfactorily on this product. This limitation should have been spelled out more clearly before purchase, however.

Nice Electric Cooktop
Very nice for an electric cooktop. It does not heat as quickly as gas. The 12" burner is nice for big frying pans. This required 240V 30A connection, this was not clear to me in the description.
