Works great! Stayed inside a camper this Winter, No Frozen Pipes!

Does not work on PVC

The automatic electric heat cable did a wonderful job. It saved me from slipping on ice under my overhang.

The reason I'm writing this review is that I bought similar roof heater and the same as this pipe heater it failed on the first run. same company. same bad product. once plugged in it started heating and after while just stopped. i think it must be burned. terrible waste of time.

This item is well made, and the plug lights up when plugged in showing it has power. However, it doesn't have an indicator showing when it is actually "heating" and once strapped to the pipe it is impossible to "feel" anything. During the time I had it installed I did not feel any heat on the tape at all so couldn't tell if it was working. Eventually I added a small space heater fixed the problem. If the maker would a second indicator showing heat was being generated that would be immensely helpful.

I used this to cable up a evaporation line in my attic based furnace that was prone to freezing in very cold temperatures

So far so good keeped water lines subject to freezing above 40 in sub freezing temps

Over the holidays (Christmas) I had pipes burst due to extreme cold….hopefully never again! Just recently we again had arctic cold temperatures and my pipes did not burst!! I planned ahead and this product saved me a lot of distress and cost!

Does as advertised, just wish the "contact switch" wasn't so close to the plug

This device has worked well . It did what it was intended to do. I would recommend this product during the coldest winter months.

Good for what we needed

Exactly what I needed for some water pipes that kept freezing in 20 degree weather.

Kept the pipes from freezing in the last cold snap

I returned the item. It came up when I searched for “Gutter Heaters” and looked like the cable gutter heaters. Once I had a chance to start to unpack, I noticed it said for pipes. Then in small letters in the manual it said, “Do not use for Gutters”. Please refine your website search as I wasted time going out of my way to a store that is not in my city. I’m only giving an average rating of the product as I did not get to actually use it. Your website search gets 1 star.

Easy to install. Definitely not a quick fix, may help in preventive measures without multiple days below freezing.

I had 2 frozen pipes under my home I used a 30 foot and 18 footer, no more frozen pipes
