i had hoped it would work better , i think you need to tell people if you are trying to crack hard granite move your holes closer together.

Very pleased with this product. Large boulders in the way of a new foundation. I tried a micro-blasting system with poor results. Jack hammer: too labor intensive. I read about Dexpan and tried it. The initial investment was daunting, but I went for it: Mikita hammer drill: $350, SDS-Max 1.5" bit: $93, Dexpan: $113. 44# easily filled 14 holes (1.5" x 18" deep). One set of holes had some "blow-out" because I didn't pay attention to the temperature; very important. However, even after the blow-out it cracked the rock over night. If you follow the instructions carefully, mix it thoroughly, watch the temperature and stand back, you should not have any problems. I will definitely order some more and keep going.

Worked awesome. Best expansion was about 30-36 hours after application. I did have 3 of 10 holes blow completely out.

Works great. I drilled into a large rock came back 24 hours after using Dexpan and minor cracks along drill pattern. I came back the next day and large cracks along drill pattern. I have used this product many times before and always amazed.

Did exactly what it said.... broke rock into several pieces within 24 hrs.

We used this product to shear off 12" thick concrete footing stubs. We are very pleased with the results, and even used much of the grout again after it did it's business.

Works great! Should stock in stores.

This product worked better and was easier to use than the other two I tried. I would recommend, just make sure to follow the instructions and use the right type for the temperature. Test the hole temps.

Uncovered a massive rock in excavation in the Grand Lake, Colorado area. Used 44lbs of Dexpan, used 4ft. Drill on hammer, this is where your work is all day, focusing on where too crack, used Type II Dexpan,mixed excatly according to instructions (BTW, 0.4 gallons, equals 6.4 American cups of water with every 11lb bag, mixed each one separately) waited only 14 hours and it cracked the rock with a little help from backhoe. It worked awesome. Highly recommended!

Product works as claimed. I used it on a concrete demo. Reinforced 16" footings. Cracked them as well as I hoped for. 1 1/2" holes drilled to 12" depth, 44lb box doesn't go far. A large job cost a small fortune. My only con with this product is the great big price. Also, one bag had a big hole in it when delivered. Pick it up from the box and it spilled a 1/3 it contents on shop floor. Awful waste.

Used Dexpan before. Unbelievable easy to split rock compared to all other methods.

I used Dexpan to fracture a rockface in West Virginia. I rented a Bobcat with a rock hammer attachment, it didn't touch this rock. Drilled with a Bosch Rotary Hammer Drill and used a Milwaukee 1-1/2" carbide tip drill. It was hard to drill, but in 24 hours the Dexpan fractured the rock. A photo couldn't be attached because it exceeded the 5 MB limit.

I am removing a large amateur radio tower base. It is solid concrete, 4 ft. Squareby 6 ft. deep. I am removing the top 2 ft so I can plant grass. I used the productthat is recommended for 23 to 50 degree temp. I saw cracks after 24 hours.My recommendation is to have lots of patience and time.

Mixing with water not directed as to proportions per bag.

This stuff really works,used it on a big granite rock at my house that I could not use TNT on because it was to close to my garage
