Very disappointed with shipping
I recently ordered several Dewalt tools online. 2 of the 3 arrived on time and in good condition. The 3rd item, arrived ontime but the head of the framing nailer was sticking out of a 3: hole in the box. They're were also 2 other sizable holes in the box. Apparently it had been repacked by FedEx or whoever and nobody thought to add any shipping/ packing material. it was literally bouncing around In the box, unprotected. After spending over $2,000 on these tools, I would expect more care to be put into my order. I'm in need of many more tools as I recently started a remodeling company. but truthfully at this point. I'm not sure that I'll want to take the chance again on the shipping. Even the delivery driver tried to hide the damage by only taking a picture of the only undamaged side of the box. I feel as a loyal customer and a veteran that o should be entitled to barter care. I look forward to your reply. I have several more pictures including the empty box it was shipped in. I actually took it to a local Home Depot and opened it in front of customer service. they told me I'd need to purchase another one and when it came to the store, I could return this one. I should be refunded, not have to purchase another one. js Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

    Fast and Easy to use.
Works great. The depth of drive works well, a couple of test nails and easy to set. Heavier than a hammer, but a lot less work driving nails, and fast. Notice a bit of paper that holds the string of nails together gets trapped under the head of the nail, but I expect that to weather away in a few days. I used Paslode, hot dipped ringed framing nails, 30 degree, paper linked, 2 inch long; to nail 3/4 inch thick cedar boards onto 2x4 rails. No splintering, no splitting, no drive thrus. Be sure to locate well, before nailing, these nails hold very tight and removal can be difficult. No jams, nail string is 37 nails of this size so frequent loading is necessary for large jobs, but loading is very easy, just a few seconds to load a new string.

    Dewalt 30degree Framing Gun
Can’t drive in 3” and up nails. I’ve even tried a 6 to 9amp battery and adjusted the depth still with no luck. The nailer wasn’t even used to its fullest potential maybe it was defective not sure pretty bummed out about it.

Plenty of Power, Very Few Jams
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this framer for about 11 months now. I'm a roofing contractor in Florida and I specialize in roof repair. We are always needing to sister on a 2x4 to a rafter and do some basic framing. This thing is perfect for the job. Fits in some tight spots and NO COMPRESSOR! Saves so much time. I use the standard nails from the big box store and have maybe one jam every other strip. It's usually because I hit a hurricane strap or something. The two settings are useful because this thing will overdrive a nail on the high setting. Plenty of power. Also, it runs for a long time on the 5AH batteries. Overall, love this tool for what its meant to do.

Substantial upgrade, night and day difference
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously owned the first generation of this tool, and it did ok in some scenarios, but in harder materials and instances where the framing had some flex-it just wasn’t good enough. Fast forward to this latest version, and wow, what a difference. I have been putting nails in all over my property and it sinks 3” ringshanks with ease. For testing I’ve been shooting fence posts old and new, spf framing, beams, and subfloor and it’s been very fast and impressive. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on durability, but the power is amazing.

          Powerful and Convenient!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the 20v Framing Nailer for 2 weeks now and I only wish I had bought it long before. It is powerful enough to work in my crews and for small jobs it saves all the time of setting up a compressor and air lines! Easily drives a 3 1/2 inch framing nail through every type of wood I've used it on. I would highly recommend this Nailer to anyone and especially for those where time is money, it will pay for itself quickly!

            The Best for Pickup Framing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Am I ready to ditch my air compressor and pneumatic nail guns? Not yet, but the more I use the DCN692, the more I appreciate the hassle free portability. It is a great tool for pickup framing work, and it really can do just about anything that a traditional pneumatic nail gun can do. On our jobsites today, there is one less air hose strung about. My only complaint (and it’s a minor one) is the ramp up time in sequential mode takes a little getting used to – but it’s a small price to pay vs lugging a compressor and hose out for every job. Great tool.

cheaper then running a passlode all day, works fine
Dont understand other reviewers, i am a framer by trade building high end multi-family ive used passlode framing nailers by the dozen, i own 10 of them for my crew. As they start to break down im slowly purchasing more and more of these. I buy passlode gas by they case and over a complex i could by 5 or more guns with the money spent on them. These framing gun are awesome for only using a battery. Yeah when we shoot 3” nails you might have to smack mist in an 8th inch but if you look at the cost at running passlode guns its a no brainer. On the finish end, where you might want them counter sunk then either go with a air gun or passlode. But for framing and siding this over other cordless framing guns any day of the week.

I've built a couple of things so far, no jams and perfect depth consistency. It pays I think to use good quality nails.

Maybe I have a Monday morning built or something but this thing has been nothing but trouble Will work for a stick or two or three and that's it , revs up and just clicks Had it in the repair place a couple times and he says all good , use it and same trouble I'm pretty much all DeWalt and this is the first bad tool I've had I call it a $400 boat anchor

Jams more often than not with 3” nails, unusable
I purchased this nailer to install wood siding with 2” nails and it worked perfectly. This weekend I attempted to frame in 14 window openings with Pasload 3” nails and it was an absolute failure. With the nailer set to max power, max depth, manual trigger mode it jammed so often that I just gave up. I don’t think I drove more than 3 nails in a row successfully. I estimate I had to pull, cut, or hammer in/over 100 nails before giving up. Wish I could return it.

                    Grab and go nailer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used only Dewalt brand nails and have only had one jam. This is similar to what I experience with my pneumatic nailer. For me, the portability of the framing nailer is very beneficial.

The weight and balance are by far the best I tried with battery framing nailers. While I don’t love the flywheel, having that air tank on the front like the rest is worse. The flywheel isn’t a big deal, drives nails the same for me, and it’s much easier to control. The other nailers are front heavy, nailer wants to fall forward. This one the weight sits at the rear above your hand, I find it much more comfortable.

                      Good nailer. Junky hook
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this earlier this year. Nailer works good is slightly heavy but shoot good. The hook though is pretty junky. I dont like that it spins and I wish it had a second hook. I won’t buy a second nailer until the hook is improved

Already had the batteries because I have other Dewalt tools. So, I figured this would be a good choice. This tool has been very handy. No hose. No noisy compressor. It is about the same weight as an air powered. Fits between 16 inch centers. I am using 3” nails and it is driving them easily. Am sure 3 1/2” will be no problem. Uses 30 deg. collated nails which are not quite as popular on the shelves of the stores. Most are 21 deg. But did find them at a home improvement store. Does not quite fire as fast as an air powered but, close enough. Using it for framing with 2 X 4’s. I would recommend the gun.

                        Doesn't last
I bought this last summer and out of the box it worked great. It fired quick, sunk nails, no jams. Then slowly it started jamming more frequently and it would wind up but wouldn't fire. I am a full-time remodeling carpenter so I need on my tools to be productive, efficient, and reliable. The nailer is now at the point where I cant fire more than 5 nails without a jam or it doesn't even fire at all. Maybe I got a dud, but this tool is no longer usable to me. I maybe have 3 boxes of nails through it and it's now useless to me. I love the nailer when it worked, but it sucks to pay $500 for a tool that's useless after a year.

                          Good Buy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worked great for the first year I had it. I probably didn’t take great care of it as the return spring started to jam and had trouble loading nails. Other than the spring gun was good and definitely was nice not having to drag an air hose around everywhere.

                            Average nailer
This gun went head to head with a Milwaukee framing nailer on a 30x48 garage build and this one was obvious second. Biggest benefits are that this nailer can take two clips of nails and is a big lighter, however we found that the jam rate is much higher when you use with two clips of nails vs one. Overall was still good to use and did the job however the Milwaukee is the clear winner for anyone looking at buying one.
