4 of the cartridges I purchased that were shipped to me had previously been opened and were damaged and didn't work. I also purchased 4 cartridges at the store and only 2 worked. I replaced all cartridges with American Standard and all American Standard cartridges worked. The issue I see with the danco brand is the bottom seal is too thin and flat. The american standard seal is a little thicker with ridges that seems to fit better in an older faucet. The Danco cartridges may work in a brand new faucet. Also, the white plastic part of the Danco cartridges crack very easy. These cartridges screw in place and need to be snug, but are too weak to for that. I think the Danco cartridges would work if the the were just placed in and used a nut on top to apply equal pressure as many faucets use including our bathtub faucet that's a deep rough in. I'm sure for $0.05 more Danco could have used a stronger designed bottom seal and it would have worked.

I seem to be replacing these once every year or so. Why can't they make them do they last?

If it's your only choice then go ahead and get it, just be prepared to take it back to the store when it didn't work. I have bought 5 of these and had to return 2 of them because they didn't work properly.

Garbage Don’t Buy! Last 2wks! 1st it dripped then a day later it wouldn’t turn off at all! I’ve seen similar problems reported in other reviews on other sites. This product should be taken off the market until fixed.

The facet stem worked well, it solved the leaking problem. Then another part of the facet started leaking. ugg

Easy to replace and a perfect fit.

I needed to buy 5 of these units to get two that didn't leak. The old type washers were simpler and easier to work with and understand. Home Depot took back the leakers but it was very time consuming and expensive when compared to a simple washer.

Worked fine for a week then developed a steady drip. I am returning the item and getting the American Standard brand.

This is the 3rd time I had to replace these Danco stems. They don't last more than maybe two years if that. Cheap plastic parts that are supposed to handle a normal family bathroom. Danco should be ashamed of themselves having such poor replacement parts. The only thing that keeps me from changing the American Standard fixture entirely is we matched the design of the room to it.

stem worked well and changing from hot to cold was easy.

The only suggestion I have is that you can not tell if you have the cold or hot side until you open the package, on the out side it says cold and hot, but it may just contain the hot valve. It’s stamped hot but it had to see in the packaging.

Unfortunately, the new valved dripped more than the old one. I lost a day trying to figure out the problem. I finally got another at a competitors store that did not drip and returned the one I got at HD. I ASSUME THE GASKETS WERE OLD AND DRIED OUT.

Solved the problem. Was easy to replace.
