Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. On Danco 4Z-24H/C (10472), to change the handle from 3 o'clock closed, 12 o'clock open to 9 o'clock closed, 6 o’clock open you should install the handle at the 9 o’clock position when the stem is closed. If you need more help or clarification, please contact Danco Technical Support at Danco.Support@nch.com.

A:  You need to remove the wire clip on one of them, raise up the silver colored cam and turn it so it is against the opposite stop from where it was. Replace the wire clip and reassemble. This will change it so it will work properly.

A:  Majority of the times the screw will be inside the faucet itself, unless someone completely removed it. You can match it in Home depot by asking the people there. If not found, try Ace Hardware. Best of luckk

A:  in my case I went with the old one to the local Ace Hardware as HD did not have the O ring. They have hundreds of sizes. they can easily match it for you.

A:  antique tech there . they don't have O-ring style faucets anymore. This one just screws in with no sealant needed. VERY simple.

Q:NO Instructions on how to change where it will opens the cold water clockwise not counterclockwise as set from factory. I went to Danco Web Site as instructed on label with ZERO results. No where I can find any type of user manual or How To Instructions. I used a lot of time trying to find something that should be easy to find. In reading the ratings on Danco, 1 star, and the instructions from Danco to person asking the questions makes no sense. Remember ,most of us are not plumbers and we may try to fix a leaking faucet every few years. Home Depot, get a new supplier or I will start using Lowe's.

A:  You have to lift the metal piece that acts as a stop off and turn it to the right or left and place it back on and that should do the trick.

A:  If you pull out t\he pin on the top and reverse the direction, you can either use for hot or cold water. Ask for a experienced plumber associate. Some of them are. They can show you how in the store... my personal experience.

Q:I purchased the Danco 4z-24h/c stems to rebuild a shower and I cannot seam to figure out which handles I can buy that are compatible with these. It says they are for American Standard handles; does Home Depot sell any handles that fit the 4z-24h/c stems? If so, what are some options (model numbers would be greatly appreciated). Thank you in advance for your help.

A:  many will fit- ours had a plastic piece that stuck on the splines and fits a bit larger spline pattern on the faucet. I suppose an adapter is available somewhere. I didn't see any at HD . Didn't need them either.

A:  You buy the stem to fix the faucet. Buy a new faucet for new handles.
