A bit more difficult to install than the advertising suggests, and you need two people at least.

i put this system in my cabin and it has worked very well, easy to install and simple instructions

I like the way this system installs. I have traditional suspended ceilings in other areas of my house and there is a 7" height difference between the Ceiling Max and the traditional grid. I had to call their Customer support line because I had questions about a non-traditional layout and they were VERY helpful. I am a little disappointed in the consistency of color. I ordered 3 boxes of Satin black. The boxes were all labeled "Satin Black". In one box, the runners were more of a Charcoal Gray. I didn't complain about this to Home Depot or Ceilingmax. I was in a hurry to get the job done, I didn't want to undo what I had already done, and because of the lighting in my room, its not real noticeable, just a little disappointing. I recommend this product but I also recommend that anyone who orders it, should check the boxes before you plan on working on your project

The system “worked” as advertised. That said, accuracy is paramount. The 2’ crossmembers have a working tolerance of +/- 1/16”. Client is very happy and we have access to all utilities above and saved inches of headroom. I just don’t want to dismantle. Fingers crossed.

Easy to cut and assemble, good instructional video. If your ceiling joists are not perfectly level, this creates a shimming nightmare. In hindsight, a couple of sheets of 1/2 plywood might have made the assembly easier.

The product works well but having to buy it in kits results in a tremendous amount of wasted components and added cost the the project. I guess this is good for the seller but probably results in consumers switching to other products .

I was renovating our basement rec room and I needed a ceiling solution that would maximized the ceiling height and still allow access to the space above for maintenance purposes, so I chose CeilingMax. Overall, I was pleased with the CeilingMax solution. My only complaint is that the Top Hangers are too flexible. Because of this, no matter how well you measure or how good your chalk line is, it is nearly impossible to install them perfectly straight. As a result, they end up being wavy. This is not that noticeable in the end, but still frustrating for a perfectionist like me. Another problem with the flexible Top Hangers is that the bend so much that the Runners don't snap in evenly for their full length. Generally, they snap in fine at the joists, but not in the areas between the joists. This can lead to some sagging, which doesn't look good. This is a good product and not too hard to install, but I think the top hangers should be more rigid.

Used it to replace a ceiling on a travel trailer. Easy to install and did not lose any ceiling height. Plan to use in another section of travel trailer. Only negative is not being able to purchase individual pieces only need a few to complete the job. Menaces sells by the piece but nearest store is too far away

Product was easy to work with and install. Followed the instructions by the manufacturer with no issues. Used it thru out my basement to finish the ceiling which has a maximum joist height of ~7 ft or more in some spots. I’d recommend for anyone that is trying to have post install access to their joists and for maximizing the height of their basement. To me it was worth the cost versus installing drywall as an alternative.

1. It is advertised as being so easy to install that one person could do it. This is absolutely not true. There is no way one person could do this, and even with a second person holding ends, etc, it is not always easy. 2. The 'snap in' feature of the surface grid pieces takes a lot of pressure and sometimes 2 hands while in the virtual video it went in very easily. 3. The directions in the video are emphatic about order of installation with tiles going in last. When you purchase the tape to make the grid match the tile (since apparently it is impossible to simply create colored grids to match the colored tiles) the instructions for the tape are equally emphatic about removing all the tiles from the grid before installing the tape. There is NO way to follow both sets of directions. 4. The tiles themselves are easy to cut and flexible so they are easy to put into place. That is the ONLY reason I would consider recommending this product.

No to flimsy not worth the money. Should have sheet rocked

Combined together very strong, easy to cut accurately and looking forward to the non rust, no mold and no fire.

Main track should have cross track notces every foot instead of two feed especialy with the first being one ft from the end.

Loved the product. With that being said. I went to purchase in store and found that all boxes were opened. To decipher how many belong in the box. I had to count them and went by one of the reference pics online which doesn’t match the box. Online states there are more pieces than the box says. This was initially confusing.

fairly easy to use, a little more flimsy than expected. quite a bit of waste if ceiling not perfect size for system. Does the job though.

This was remarkably easy to install and looks very good. It took two amateurs about 8 hours over 2 days to do an entire basement, including some tricky corners and building around hanging pipes. This was WAY easier than a traditional hanging ceiling. The only knock on this is that the directions are actually pretty awful. Once we threw them away ot went alot smoother.

great...until you need 2 foot of runner and have to buy another entire set for it.

Super easy to install on flat ceiling. Great clearance for maximum ceiling height.

The ceiling is great, but we did not like the fact that you can only order as kits. We now have many left over pieces of wall hangers and cross tees. It is very sad that we had to purchase so many kits in order to have enough runners and top hangers.
